WHY PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS WILL COVER THE SPREAD

The Portland Trail Blazers don't have much to play for the rest of the season. They are second to last place in the Western Conference with just 19 wins on the season and are just looking toward next season at this point. They also could potentially be without the majority of their roster when they head out on the road for this Monday night matchup with the Rockets.

While the Trail Blazers have been downright atrocious on the season, they have done a great job at covering the spread. The Houston Rockets are looking like a team to watch out for as they make a playoff push. They have now won 8 straight and are looking to make it 9 in a row when they take on the lowly Portland Trail Blazers in this Monday-night matchup.

What has transcended this Rockets squad has been the emergence of Jalen Green. Green has been averaging 29.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and shooting 52.5% from the floor during their 8-game winning streak, four games have been at home at the Toyota Center where he's been averaging 32.5 points in those contests.

Also, the Rockets as a team have been soaring as well averaging 125.1 points per game over that stretch, limiting their opponents to 110.5 points per game with a point differential of +14.6 points per game.
