Last night was exciting, highlighting several upsets. First was Shakira Austin, who had the +130 moneyline upset over " point gawd," Chelsea Gray. Speaking of Unrivaled, let's talk about the rookies that have been impactful all season long.
UConn Husky on Husky crime, the most shocking upset was Aaliyah Edward's (+360 ML) 12-0 shutout over co-founder Breanna Stewart. With that said, there's bound to be at least one upset tonight. The question remains, who will be sent packing!?
The 1-on-1 has been nothing short of amazing in Unrivaled's inaugural season. With seven matchups highlighting the second night, bettors can place wagers exclusively within DraftKings Sportsbook.

Each teammate of the overall winner will earn $10,000 each. Included in the pool is a cash prize of $50,000 for the runner-up.

For the second-round of the Unrivaled 1-on-1 tournament I placed one unit on Skylar Diggins-Smith to win outright for +125 odds on DraftKings.
Headed into the next round as the No. 4 seed, Diggins-Smith will face No. 2 seed Arike Ogunbowale.
No matter how you slice it, this is one of the most anticipated matchups of the night. Two ball dominant guards who can score from anywhere, we are about to see an absolute cinema between these two players.
Overall, Diggins-Smith (5'8) and Arike Ogunbowale (5'9) are two of the shortest guards in the league. With that said, there should be plenty of physicality and speed in this matchup. This time, I'm going with the underdog and here's why.
At 34 years old, Skylar Diggins-Smith put the whole league on notice why she's one of the fiercest competitors in Unrivaled. Locked in from the start, Diggins-Smith had a tough anticipated matchup vs a much taller and stronger Dearica Hamby.
At 5'8, all I have to say is don't underestimate Diggins-Smith. Even with a noticeable height difference, Diggins-Smith managed to put up a 5-0 lead over Hamby.
A pest on the defensive end, Diggins-Smith was everywhere. And mind you, Dearica Hamby is a 6'4 forward with a ton of USA 3x3 experience. Forcing backcourt violations, blocks, this was one of the more physical matchups.
Able to make space, pull up from three, Diggins-Smith was a stone cold killer. If looks could kill, she clearly has the tournament prize in sight. Overall, it was Skylar Diggins-Smith's innate ability to stop Hamby from scoring downhill.
Skylar Diggins-Smith isn't messing around. Pulling back-to-back cold blooded threes, she's a threat from anywhere on the court. A main reason for the Lunar Owls success, Diggins-Smith ranks 13th in Unrivaled with 15.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.
Although slightly overshadowed by the great Napheesa Collier, Diggins-Smith has been a consistent and clutch player. In fact, we've seen her with how many game winning buckets now?
Of course she gets Arike Ogunbowale, who's a member of team Vinyl. The No. 1 seed, Arike is favored for a reason. Her ability to score and get down hill is unlike no other. While Skylar Diggins-Smith is strong, Ogunbowale should have some strength advantage tonight.
While I've yet to see Ogunbowale play 1-on-1 on her career, it's tough to predict how this matchup will turnout. One of the most skilled in the WNBA, Arike is a straight bucket. In fact, she's scored 12 points in two outings vs the Owls.
However, with that said, she's been known to be a streaky shooter, and we've seen that this season. Ranked no. 19, Arike is averaging 13 points, and 3.2 rebounds through six games. Speaking of streaky, Ogunbowale is going to put up plenty of shots tonight.
We've seen a mixed bag of performances from Arike thus far, averaging 39 percent from the field through six games. With that, Ogunbowale has been limited to 24.7 % from the field.
Tonight will highlight two incredible players, however one must be crowned the winner. Given Skylar Diggin-Smith has already played through one round, she's stayed cool, calm, and relaxed through it all.
My second best bet for Tuesday, I've placed one unit on Satou Sabally to win outright vs Dijonai Carrington for -130 odds on DraftKings.
Although neither player has yet to play in the 1-on-1 tournament, we will get a first glimpse how Sabally and Carrington will fair tonight.
Of that bat, this won't be an easy task for Carrington (5'11), who has a five inch height differential compared to Sabally (6'4). That doesn't mean Carrington can't upset. After all, she was the 2024 WNBA Most Improved Player of the Year. Carrington is an underrated defender, who will make the hustle plays. In this setting, I could vision Carrington outrebounding Satou with her speed alone.
Coming off injury, there's no doubt Sabally got off to a slow start. Now that Unrivaled is in action, Sabally is the 8th leading scorer with 17.6 points per game for Phantom. Averaging 6.1 rebounds per game, will Sabally have the speed to chase down the offensive boards?
By the third game, we saw Satou Sabally break out for 29 points, on 10-17, and 5-6 3PT shooting vs the Mist. Although Carrington was a DNP, Sabally finished 100 % (2-2) from the free-throw line. In this game, we know how important and crucial every three-throw shot is.
While there's been some inconsistencies shooting the rock, Sabally is averaging 21.8 points since the third game. With that, we've seen her put up monstrous performances with 29,19, 22, and 17 points.
Having the advantage strength wise to score in the post, don't let that deter you. Satou Sabally can strike from beyond the arc. Although she had a dreadful 1-7 three-point performance against the Lunar Owls, Sabally is shooting a respectable 47.3 % from downtown.
As for Carrington, she's a shifty guard who can absolutely pull off an upset. Especially since Sabally is averaging 3.4 turnovers per game. While Sabally doesn't possess the best ball handling skills, I can see Carrington taking care of business on the defensive side of things.
Averaging 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds through five games, Carrington isn't exactly the leagues highest scorer. In fact, there's a +10 point scoring differential in Sabally over Carrington. However, averaging one steal per game, we've seen how disruptive Carrington can be on the defensive end. I also believe missing a few games has skewed her scoring numbers.
Overall, it's tough to put up a ton of points when you're teammates with Jewell Loyd and Breanna Stewart. With that said, I have some concerns regarding Carrington on the offensive end. Able so quickly get downhill, her three-point shooting can also be streaky at times. Shooting 33.3 percent from three, Carrington will have to bring the heat tonight.
Overall, I'm going to give the slight edge to Satou Sabally. While DiJonai Carrington can disrupt her offensive rhythm, Sabally has the size and strength to cook in and paint and draw the fouls.
My third player prop prediction for today, I placed one unit on Mist guard Jewell Loyd to win outright for -150 odds vs Rae Burrell.
Jewell Loyd is one of the best players in the league, and there's no getting past that. In a classic No. 1 (Loyd) vs No. 4 (Burell) seed, only one player will advance to the next round.
Overall, both players are coming off a first-round BYE, which means plenty of rest right? Wrong, these games will continue to push limits and test the last one standing. The winner of this matchup will advance to play Shakira Austin/Azura Stevens.
When I think of Jewell Loyd, bucket getter comes to mind. Known as the "Gold Mamba" there will be a significant height disadvantage for Loyd. Standing at 5'10, Burrell is listed as 6'2.
As a member of the mist, we've seen Loyd have a season high 30 points, averaging 37.93 % from downtown. Although Loyd has struggled at times from the field (42.86 %), she can advance with three-pointers alone. Averaging 3.63 three-point attempts per game, perhaps that's what will keep Loyd in this tonight.
Overall, we've seen Loyd as a bit of a streaky shooter, finishing 3-11 and 4-11 vs Rose. Now she faces Rae Burrell, who's impressed in her first season with Unrivaled.
Averaging 9.17 points, Burrell has not been afraid to let the rock fly, as we've seen several times. Shooting a respectable 35.7 % from downtown, she hasn't been as effective on the boards.
I do think Loyd's speed and athleticism will advance her to the next round. Yes, Burrell has impressed with her ability to drive to the rim. In this case, Loyd may have difficulty on the defensive end.
Overall, I trust Loyd's scoring ability and don't believe this matchup will be particularly close. Putting up 12.5 points per game, Loyd is capable of much higher.
