Friday marks the last regular-season game, and playoff seeding will be determined tonight. With the playoffs set to begin on Saturday, some matchups are critical.
Kicking off today's slate is Hive BC (4-9) vs. Lunar Owls BC (3-10). There's no doubt that both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention as the top six teams will advance to the postseason. Despite being involved in a four-team trade, Hive could never catch up and now has several players listed on the injury report. 2.5-point spread underdogs, they get a Lunar Owls BC squad, led by Marina Mabrey, Aaliyah Edwards, and Skylar Diggins.
Once championship contenders last season, the Lunar Owls' hopes of a title push dwindled after Napheesa Collier was ruled out for the season. This game doesn't mean much; perhaps both will compete for pride.
Next up, Mist BC (9-4) will square off against Vinyl BC (5-8). Sitting one game back of Rose BC, Vinyl somehow secured the sixth and final playoff seed. Conversely, Mist BC has been one of the most dominant teams all season and is tied with Laces BC for the No. 2 seed. According to DraftKings, Mist has the third-best odds (+300) to win the Unrivaled championship, while Vinyl has the longest odds (+900).
Co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, Unrivaled is a three-on-three women's professional basketball league. Designed for players by players, games are mainly stationed in Miami. Having already made a pitstop in Philadelphia, the semifinals will take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Mar. 2

Let's take a look at my best bets, picks, and predictions for Friday's Unrivaled regular season matchups on Friday, Feb. 27. With the playoffs set to begin tomorrow, there's plenty at stake for several clubs.
If you're tailing my picks, I placed my bets within DraftKings Sportsbook.
My first best bet for today, I placed one unit on Lunar Owls BC to cover the 2.5-favorable spread.
As mentioned previously, both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention, and this game doesn't mean much. While Hive showed a brief stretch of optimism, they've dealt with a lack of cohesion on both sides of the ball all season long.
Talent isn't a question for Hive, but injuries have derailed any possible playoff push. Although the club traded for Azurà Stevens, it will once again be without the stretch forward. In addition, guards Sonia Citron and Natisha Hiedeman are out for today's contest.
While Haley Jones and Aziaha James are more than capable of stepping into a role, it's difficult to replace three star players.
I like the Lunar Owls here. It's hard to believe a team of this caliber has just three wins on the season. But we have to remember that Diggins was injured for a portion of the season, and Collier remains out.
Primarily led by Edwards, Mabrey, and Diggins, the depth production has been an issue for this club. However, I was more convinced given that sharpshooter Rachel Banham erupted for back-to-back 12 points, including four 3-pointers against the Laces.
Overall, the Lunar Owls are 1-4 in February, but lost to the league's best team (Laces) by just four points. While losing to Hive, 74-71, earlier in the season, we have to remember that Hiedeman and Citron accounted for 34 points.
It's going to come down to Edwards, Mabrey, and Diggins, who combined for 66 points in their last matchup against Hive. While I do believe Hive has more size with Ezi Magbegor and Monique Billings, Aaliyah Edwards has proven to hold her own.
Overall, Hive has produced the least amount of offense this season (864 points) and holds a league-worst -119 point differential. While Lunar Owls have been the worst team defensively (988 points allowed), Hive is right there. Plus, Hive BC puts up the fewest points per game (66.5) and has allowed opponents to score over 75 points per game. 5-8 ATS this season, Hive holds a 4-8 record ATS as underdogs.
There's no question that Edwards and Mabrey are two of the most dominant players in the league, combining for 58 points against Vinyl. If Skylar Diggins can overcome her shooting woes, this makes my pick a solid bet. Shooting 5-20 from the field over the last two games, the X-factor is, in fact, Skylar Diggins Smith.
My second-best bet for today, I am taking the Mist and Vinyl matchup to total over 142.5 points.
This game has plenty at stake ahead as the playoff seedings will be determined following tonight's matchups. We know one thing: both clubs are playoff-bound, and Mist BC is fighting for the top spot. Just one game back of Phantom for the top seed, everything is on the line.
At 5-8, Vinyl is the current sixth seed and could move up depending on point differential.
Overall, these are two talented clubs. Headlined by Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, and Veronica Burton, Mist holds a league-best +99 point differential. With that, they have a stacked roster from top to bottom. Having Arike Ogunbowale and Alanna Smith coming off the bench shows just how talented they are.
I do believe there will be plenty of offense generated in this game. Mist leads in points per game (78.15 PPG), shooting 45.7% from the field, and 32.3% from 3-point range. And while they may not kill every night with 3-pointers, its versatility and depth set it apart from the rest. Of all eight clubs, they get to the free-throw line the most (9.23 FTA).
While Vinyl has had an up-and-down season, we have to remember they did make a strong push and lost to Rose BC in the championship game. Headlined by Dearica Hamby, Rhyne Howard, and Rae Burrell, don't sleep on this team. Let's not forget Burrell's 30 bomb against Lunar Owls. Plus, four players scored in double figures.
I do think losing Courtney Williams in a trade was tough for Vinyl, but they gained some serious defensive presence with Saniya Rivers. Averaging 68.5 points per game, Vinyl has been one of the more efficient teams from the 3-point line (35.6%). It all comes down to health and consistency.
While Vinyl has always been a defensive-minded team, they gave up 76 points in their 76-71 loss to the Mist this season. Totaling 147 points, both teams shot 49.2% from the field. The X-factor for Vinyl will be Burrell and Erica Wheeler, who scored 16 points against Mist.
