They face a Vinyl team that's dropped two straight games.
Coming off back-to-back matchups, the Laces are -4.5 favorites over the Rose. They will be out for blood tonight after losing a heartbreaker to the Lunar Owls in the fourth quarter. After dropping two straight, the Rose will look to move up in the wins column.

Spread Best Bet: Laces vs Rose
- Laces -4.5 (-115 DraftKings)
My first best bet for today, I'm taking the Laces to cover the -4.5 point spread vs the Rose today. Although the injury report hasn't come out, I can't fade the Laces. They have truly shown was a powerhouse of a team they are, second to the Lunar Owls.
Fatigue may set in tonight, as the Laces and Rose both played last night. One of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season, the Lunar Owls and Laces are the clear top teams in the league. With that said, the Laces held a 49-41 halftime lead against the Owls.
With 11 lead changes, the Laces ultimately conceded to the Rose 75-73. Even without Alyssa Thomas in the lineup, the Laces managed to keep the score tight.
The Laces, led by Kayla McBride, are a complete powerhouse of a team. They grind, they hustle, and have what it takes to compete and win games. Leading the pack with 26 points and eight rebounds, McBride now has five consecutive games of scoring 20+ points.
- Incredible in getting downhill, McBride has is a sniper from downtown. Shooting 6-8 from deep is quite impressive.
Can Anyone Stop Kayla McBride and Tiffany Hayes?
What I love about the Laces is their ability to explode offensively at any point. We saw this last night, when they poured in 29 second quarter points. The second best offensive team in all of Unrivaled (75.2), offense certainly hasn't been an issue. While the absence of Alyssa Thomas stings, Tiffany Hayes and Kayla McBide are included in the top four scorers this season.
With Hayes a walking billboard for WNBA free agency, she's averaging 19.4 points per game. Furthermore, McBride is putting up a second best 25.6 points per game. Although it's unknown if Thomas will return, the Laces have a huge advantage. Jackie Young is back in action!
Logging just under seven minutes, Young made the best of her Unrivaled debut. A monumental reason for multiple lead changes, Young finished with 12 points. Utilizing her strength, Young showcased her ability to not only attack the rim, but hit beyond the arc.
No matter how you put it, the combination of McBride, Hayes, and Young is deadly. With Stephanie Dolson's ability to have a presence down low, but able to space the floor is everything.
- This team screams attack, attack, attack, and there's no reason for me to believe they won't cover tonight.
The Laces Defeated The Rose 71-64 Last Week
With a +67 point differential through five games, the Laces and Rose will matchup for the second time this season. It wasn't too long ago the Laces defeated the Rose 71-64, and that was without Thomas and Young.
In that matchup, neither team shot above 40 % from the field. However, it was Tiffany Hayes hot start that set the tone for the Laces. With McBride and Hayes combining for 55 total points, it's clear as day the Rose can't stop either one of them. In 3-on-3 basketball, meaning there's more space to work with as a creator.
The Laces excelled well in drawing personal fouls against the Rose, and McBride and Hayes should do plenty of that tonight. While the Rose are a better team in second chance points and on the offensive boards, the Laces are in another stratosphere offensively.
Overall, the Rose struggle offensively despite a talented roster. With the Phantom defeating the Rose 75-63 last night, there's trouble in paradise down in South Beach. Point blank, shooting 3-16 (18.5 %) from the three isn't going to put your in the wins column.
- The Phantom shot an incredible 56.9 percent from the floor, and 63.2 % from deep, signaling a deep rooted issue from the defensive end for Rose.
With all starters -12 on the floor, they now get a more advanced Laces team, that's continued to build chemistry as the weeks have gone on. Unable to notch over 70 points, the Rose are averaging an abysmal 63.5 points over the last two weeks.
- Aside from their 71-66 victory against a shorthanded Mist team, the Rose hold a -34 point differential.
Final Unrivaled Best Bet Pick and Prediction Today: Laces -4.5 (-115 DraftKings)
It's clear as day the Rose have some growing pains, and aren't flowing as well on the offensive side of things. This leads to Chelsea Gray forcing shots when nothing is clicking. While there's arguably a ton of talent with Gray, Kahleah Copper, Angel Reese, Brittney Sykes, Lexie Hull, and Azurá Stevens, it's simply not translating on the floor. Over the last two games, they've shot an average 37 % from the floor.
One of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league, they face one of the best (Laces) in Unrivaled. This alone makes Laces -4.5 a strong play.
- While the injury report is unknown at this time, I'm taking the Laces to cover today. They play with pace, grit, and are the overall better team.

Spread Totals Bet: Vinyl vs Mist
- Under 142.5 (-115 DraftKings)
My second best bet for today, I placed one unit on the Vinyl vs Mist game to total under 142.5 points for -115 odds on DraftKings.
The Vinyl get the Mist as -2.5 point spread favorites, and face one of the least productive offenses in all of Unrivaled (64.5 PPG). Led by Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd, there's some growing pains for the Mist. Although not fully healthy this season, we've seen games without both Loyd and DiJonai Carrington.
The Mist haven't played since January 25, which means they should or could be fully healthy today. If Carrington is back, that would fuel the defensive side of things for the Mist.
Last week, we saw the Mist struggle on the offensive end, putting up an average of 67.5 points vs the Phantom and Rose. And in those two outings, the Mist couldn't hit a shot from deep, shooting 20.2 % from three-point range.
- While Breanna Stewart and Jewel Loyd remain in the top 10 in terms of scoring, they need help offensively.
Both Teams Have a Defensive Minded Approach
And this is the whole point of Unrivaled. Iron sharpens Iron has been the mantra all season long. This is a huge chance for Rickea Jackson and Aaliyah Edwards to work on their skills. With that said, the Mist lack offense, but remain strong on the defensive end.
In fact, aside from their 84-80 week 1 loss vs the Lunar Owls, the Mist have allowed 69 points per game since. In addition two of their games have soared under 142.5 points, and one just barely making it over at 143.
Today, they face a Vinyl team who have a very defensive minded approach. Rhyne Howard, Dearica Hamby, Jordin Canada, you are talking about some of the best defenders in the game. The Vinyl have undoubtedly cooled off a bit, dropping two straight.
- Without Hamby, not only were the Vinyl limited to 57 points vs the Owls, they shot 33 % from the floor. In fact, this team shot more efficient from the three-point line.
Overall, the Vinyl are a great team, although streaky on the offensive end at times. Allowing opponents to score 73 points per game, only one of their games soared under the 142.5 point mark. Sure the Vinyl average 74.8 points per game, however, the the return of Hamby would increase rim protection and must needed defense.
- I'm taking the under today. There's way too much talent on both sides defensively for this to reach any higher than the line set.
