Included in the participants are Kelsey Plum and rookie Sonia Citron. Announced by the WNBA Friday morning, Fever guard Lexie Hull will replace Caitlin Clark in the contest today.
With an abundance of talent on this year's roster, it's a highly anticipated event across the WNBA. Will Gray go back-to-back? Can Sabrina Ionescu repeat her historical performance from the 2023 3-Point contest?
| Player | Team | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Sabrina Ionescu | New York Liberty | +130 |
| Allisha Gray | Atlanta Dream | +360 |
| Kelsey Plum | Los Angeles Sparks | +380 |

If you're looking to bet on the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend and 3-Point contest, welcome!
It's heartbreaking the basketball world won't get the opportunity to see Caitlin Clark light it up beyond the arc in front of the home crowd. However, there are several prominent shooters that should bring plenty of entertainment today! Plus, there's great value and odds on select athletes!
Set to begin at at 8 p.m. ET, the Starry WNBA 3-Point will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. If you plan to bet on the event, it will air on ESPN!
Let's take a look at the WNBA All-Star 3-Point contestants, along with my best bets, predictions, and odds for the July 18 Starry 3-Point Contest! Stay tuned for my final prediction at the end of the article.
Considered one of the most prolific shooters to ever grace the hardwood, New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is back for seconds at +130 odds!
The winner of the 2023 WNBA 3-Point contest, how can we forget Ionescu set the all-time single round record for both the NBA and WNBA with 37 points. She then went on to compete against Steph Curry in the 'Steph vs Sabrina' 3-Point shootout at NBA All-Star Weekend.
A WNBA Champion, Ionescu arguably made one of the greatest shots in in history, drilling a 28-foot shot at the buzzer to take Game 3 of the WNBA Finals over the Minnesota Lynx.
Two seasons removed from the a historic 128 made threes in a single season, Ionescu is averaging a career-high 18.7 points in 20 games. Now in her sixth WNBA season with the New York Liberty, No. 20 is shooting 31.1 percent from beyond the arc, and ranks second in 3-point attempts (50).
Ionescu is no doubt a flamethrower, even if her shooting percentages have dipped somewhat this season. Regardless, she's a sniper, and is one of the biggest deep threats in the WNBA. When I mean deep threat—I'm talking about logo threes. Maybe those two Starry balls worth three points will come in handy.
Although her three ball has been inconsistent at times, she's shooting only 24.6 percent from deep over the last five games. Let's put that aside— the 3-Point contest requires the ability to shoot everywhere from the court, which she's done.
Sab has the veteran experience to win this all. Plus, she's shooting 75 percent from the right corner 3, and 30.7 percent from above the break 3 on the season.
Watch out bettors, Sabrina Ionescu might be favored for just that very reason—her ability to shoot clutch shots when it matters the most!
The reigning 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge Champion last year, Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray is set to defend her title at +360 odds!
Thriving under new head coach Karl Smesko's 3-point heavy offense, Gray is having quite the season! Now in her ninth WNBA season, and third with the Dream—Gray is averaging a career-high 18.4 points and shooting 38.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Notorious for her lefty shot, don't let the odds fool you. Goggles and all, Gray is one of the most prolific 3-point threats in the WNBA. A career 35.2 percent 3-point shooter, let's not forget she edged out Jonquel Jones to take home the trophy and a bonus check last year!
Ranking just outside the top ten in three-point percentage, Gray ranks top four in 3-pointers made (134) on the season behind Rhyne Howard, Kelsey Plum, and Kayla McBride.
The only downside, is Gray has taken an abysmal five shots from the left and corner three this year. A majority of her shots (129) have come from above the break 3, where she's shooting 39.5 percent. So in that case, the fact Gray is 0-5 from the corner threes concerns me just a tad.
Either way, she's a veteran when it comes to this competition, and brings direct experience from last year. Although shooting 25.5 percent from beyond the arc over the last five games, don't let that fool you.
When Lish is dialed in, she's dialed in. This is sneaky good value at +360 for a the defending Starry 3-Point champion!
Next up is Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum, who is the reigning 2022 WNBA All-Star MVP.
I love this bet at +380 odds and here's why. Having already participated in the 2022 3-Point Shootout, Plum shot a personal best 42 percent beyond that arc that season with the Aces.
With this year's contest comes more experiences, especially WNBA Champion type experience! Considered one of the fastest guards in the league, this is what Plum possesses to win tonight.
Along with her quick lefty speedy release, the 3-Point Contest is a timed event. With that said, she can certainly use her accuracy, speed, and quick release to her advantage.
Kelsey Plum may have shocked the world in an off-season trade to the Sparks, however, her ability to effectively score, especially beyond the arc, hasn't changed.
In her first season with LA, it's been up and down team wise. However, Plum is averaging a career-high 20.1 points, and shooting 35.8 percent from deep.
A high volume shooter, Plum ranks second in the WNBA behind Rhyne Howard with 53 made threes, and third in 3-point attempts (148). Although her 3-point percentage has slightly dipped from last season, she's settling in with a new team under head coach Lynne Roberts.
From what I've seen at All-Star weekend in Indianapolis, Plum was working on her 3-point shots this morning, especially the one that's worth four points.
Of all the contestants, Plum has been on a tear as of late. Scoring 20+ points in three of the last five games, No. 10 is averaging 18.6 points per game. Shooting 43.6 percent from beyond the arc over that span, one can argue Plum has the hottest hand entering tonight's contest.
Similar to others, Plum hasn't been utilized in the corner as much. 1-1 (100%) from the left corner 3, and 5-9 (55.6 %) from the right corner 3, Plum was seen warming up from the corner in practice this morning. Overall, her sweet spot is from beyond the break 3, where she shoots 34.3 percent.
At just 5 foot 8, Plum may struggle with the deep shots, however, don't underestimate the veteran.
Announced by the WNBA this morning, Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull is set to replace Caitlin Clark in the 2025 3-Point Contest.
Unable to participate due to injury, it's unfortunate Caitlin Clark can't compete in the All-Star events. Hull's replacement is fitting, especially since Indianapolis is hosting the All-Star Weekend.
At +550 odds, does Hull get her fairy tale ending in from of the Fever loyal tonight? After all, in addition to being a ferocious on ball defender, Hull is one of the most pristine 3-point shooters in the league.
For this high of value, don't sleep on Hull. Although not named an All-Star, it's unclear if Hull has had ample time to practice in wake of the Caitlin Clark injury news. However, she's the Fever's best 3-point shooter this season by far.
Now in her fourth season with Indiana, Hull is averaging 46.8 percent from beyond the arc, and retains the fourth highest 3-point percentage in the WNBA. That's quite a high honor, especially next to the names of Leonie Fiebich, Kennedy Burke, and Te-Hina Paopao.
Overall, Hull isn't a heavy 3-point volume shooter, but when I think of Lexie Hull, I think of threes in transition and in the corner. With that said, shooting off a rack vastly differs against assists from Caitlin Clark.
Either way, she leads all contestants in 3-point percentage, and can shoot from anywhere on the court. Although she takes a bulk of her deep range shots from above the break 3 (40.5 %), Hull is 9-17 (52.9 %) from left corner 3, and 5-8 (62.5 %) from right corner 3.
Hull has the talent and accuracy to win this thing tonight. However, how much will nerves play into it? Or will Hull embrace the home crowd. It would only be fitting if a Fever player won the 3-Point contest.
Last but not least, rookie Sonia Citron was selected to the 2025 WNBA All-Star game, along with Rookie teammate Kiki Iriafen and Paige Bueckers.
Don't let Sonia Citron's nonchalant attitude fool you, she's an assassin on the court. Known for her 3-Point shooting in her days with Notre Dame, we all remember her buzzer beat three to force OT against NC State, right?
Averaging 14.1 points, Citron is a large x-factor for the Mystics early success under new head coach Sydney Johnson. In rebuild mode or not, Citron is one of the league's finest cutters and deep ball threats.
Shooting 36.5 percent beyond the arc through 22 games, Citron enters All-Star Weekend on a bit of a cold streak. Shooting only 29.7 percent over the last three games, Citron has cooled her 3-point shooting in July.
Although inconsistent in shooting the rock from deep, there's no question Citron is a flamethrower. Selected No. 3 overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics, she was a career 37 percent 3-point shooter in four years at Notre Dame.
At +600 odds, I'm not counting out Citron, however she did mention being nervous on the famous Orange Carpet. It may be a bit overwhelming for the rookie, who is set to perform on the biggest stage less than 25 games into her WNBA career.
Either way, she's been efficient beyond the arc for the Mystics, shooting 38.9 percent from left corner 3, 66.7 percent from right corner 3, and 35.1 percent from above the break 3. Perhaps, her biggest advantage is the money ball rack in the corner.
