Key Points
  • Three games are on today's WNBA card, with the Mystics and Fever appearing to be the most competitive one on paper.
  • The Fever, off a loss in Brooklyn, are laying -5.5 points on the road in D.C.
  • Caitlin Clark is averaging 18.8 points in games that follow shooting performances that saw her score 10 or less.

Three WNBA games are on the card for Monday, with what appears to be a mismatch in Connecticut, where the Sun host the New York Liberty, an Eastern Conference showdown between the Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics in the nation's capital, and the nightcap in Las Vegas, where the defending champion Aces host the Seattle Storm.

With two of the games featuring double-digit favorites, I'm steering clear of those games and want to look at the Fever-Mystics.

Editor's Note: It's WNBA Commissioner's Cup play, so you know what that means: every win and point counts.

WNBA Best Bets: Monday's Top Player Props

The Fever's struggles continued in Brooklyn on Saturday, when the Liberty came from behind to hand Indiana its third loss in four games. Now the Fever arrive in D.C. to face a Washington squad that made more news because of coach Sydney Johnson being ejected and escorted off the court by police than its 32-point loss in Atlanta.

This is the first of two home games for the Mystics before they play their next four matchups on the road.

Here are my top three prop plays from this game:

Caitlin Clark OVER 18.5 Points (-110 FanDuel)

On Saturday, I told you Caitlin Clark would stay under 18.5 points in Brooklyn, and she finished with 10. Now I like the sharpshooter to go off, looking to avenge her low-scoring game against the Liberty. During her three-year WNBA career, Clark has averaged 18.8 points in games that follow shooting performances that saw her score 10 or fewer.

And when it comes to facing the Mystics, the 3-point gunner is averaging 23.4 points in five meetings. This is a perfect opportunity to find her rhythm and lead the Fever to a much-needed road win.

Shakira Austin UNDER 25.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-112 FanDuel)

Austin's season averages might dictate this one to land over, sure. She's scoring 16 points, snatching 8.2 rebounds, and dealing 2.8 assists. That brings us to 27. But she's going to have her hands full to hit her average while banging bodies with Aliyah Boston.

And since Boston is coming off a game in which she received her first technical of the season and a small fine from the WNBA, I think we might get her most disciplined game of the young campaign. Besides, in 10 games (six starts) against the Fever, Austin is scoring 6.0 points, grabbing 5.0 rebounds, and serving 1.7 assists. And that's a total of 12.7 combined PRA. Look for Monday's grand total to be somewhere around 19 or 20.

Sonia Citron OVER 1.5 3-Pointers (+162 FanDuel)

This is a joke, right? You're talking about one of the best young 3-point shooters going against one of the game's best gunners, and I only need two from Citron on her court? This might be the best bet from any sport tonight.

Sonia Citron, who is scoring 17.8 points per game, is averaging 1.3 3-pointers per game. Citron also only attempts 3.8 threes per game, but she's also buried two threes in each of her last two games. This being just the third home game for the Mystics, and Clark in town to perk things up, I like Citron to drain at least two.
