Set to take place in the Windy City, Sydney Taylor and the Chicago Sky (15-22, 10-9 home) will host Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (24-14, 11-8 away).

It's been an eventful week for Chicago. The Sky are on a three-game winning streak and last defeated the Golden State Valkyries, thanks to Sydney Taylor's late-game heroics. While the Sky have seemingly found their groove, they remain six games back of the Dallas Wings for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Conversely, the Fever have dropped two straight games, including a 109-102 loss to the Liberty in Brooklyn last night. While the high-octane offense was firing on all cylinders, Indiana's defense ultimately couldn't withstand New York. With a 24-14 record, the Fever sit No. 5 in the standings and have already clinched a playoff berth.

As the season winds down, every game is high-stakes as the Fever are just two games back of the Valkyries for the No. 2. seed. Despite playing on a back-to-back on the road, the Fever enter today's contest as 2.5-point favorites.

The Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese narrative is long gone, but the Sky and Fever have a long history. Indiana is 9-1 SU vs. Chicago over the last 10 meetings and they are up 2-0 this season. Will the trio of Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston be too much for Chicago, or can the Sky upset for a fourth win?

According to FanDuel, the Fever have the fourth-best odds (+900) to win the 2026 WNBA Championship. The Sky have the second-highest odds (+10000) to win the Finals.

Caitlin Clark OVER 8.5 Assists

Today, I'm locking in Caitlin Clark to record over 8.5 assists against the Sky.

Clark and the Fever are coming off a tough loss against the Liberty. Down by three, it was Clark who tried to get a foul call, but failed in doing so. As a result, Indiana took the loss. In the post-game presser, Clark admitted while it's not an excuse, this "stretch is hard," and admits her body is "sore" and "tired."

Yes, the Fever travel to Chicago on the second leg of a back-to-back. It's a must-win game for Indiana as the playoff seeding has yet to be finalized. The Fever also have limited injuries, so let's lock in for assists today.

Clark ranks second in the WNBA in assists per game (8.2). She's considered one of the best passers in the league, although turnovers remain on the higher side (4.6 per game). Whether it's a downcourt pass, bounce pass, or no-look pass, Clark has cleared this line in three of the last five games now.

Mind you, the Fever boast the WNBA's top offensive rating (115.1), averaging 92.6 points per game. Not only does Indiana lead the pack in field goal percentage (48.8%), but ranks second in 3-point percentage (39%). The Fever run high-octane offense, backed mainly by Clark, Boston, and Mitchell.

Also, the potential assists are naturally going to be higher due to turnovers and missed shots. However, if we look at the stats, Clark has assisted Mitchell 81 times this season, with 17 of those coming from 3-point range. Luckily for Clark, Mitchell has been in a league of her own, averaging 28.6 points per game in August.

46 of her assists have gone to Boston, who's not only increased her 3-point potential but is averaging 17.1 points per game this month.

Final Fever vs. Sky Betting Prediction: Caitlin Clark OVER 8.5 Assists

It's fair to say Clark has the talent around her and the Fever love to push the ball and rank third in pace. Similarly, Chicago thrives in transition and on the fast breaks, additionally leading the league in pace. Therefore, the over/under is set for nearly 187 points, and I'm expecting plenty of scoring and assist options for Clark.

In 2026, Clark is averaging 10.3 assists in two games against the Sky. While Chicago is gaining some consistency through roster turnover and injuries, Clark has recorded two double-doubles against Chicago, including 11-and 10-assist games. In two relatively high-scoring affairs, it's helped that Mitchell has scored 27 and 19 points against Chicago this season.  Additionally, the bench has received solid playing time and the Fever have shot 48% against the Sky this year.

• I'm taking Caitlin Clark to record over 8.5 assists today. She's tallied 31 assists over the last three outings against Chicago, soaring over 9.5 in each game. Chicago is a top-five team defensively, but Clark's been on a tear. It's hard to fade Clark here, who boasts a 43.1% assist rate this season. Plus, the Indiana offense has scored 100+ points in two of the last three games.

Sydney Taylor OVER 2.5 Made Threes

For my second-best bet, I'm locking in Sydney Taylor to record over 2.5 made threes today.

Taylor, an undrafted rookie, has been everything for the Sky. She's been clutch, a 3-point threat, a high-energy scorer, and more. She's literally brought Chicago back to life at just 25 years old.

Let's look at the stats: Taylor is averaging 14.5 points per game while shooting 36% from three this season. Since being inserted into the starting lineup, she's averaging 17.4 points while shooting 40.3% from beyond the arc. Through 19 starts, she's recording 2.7 made threes on 6.8 attempts.

I'm fully expecting Taylor to be a top option with Rickea Jackson and Skylar Diggins both out. And it's unknown if Carrington will lace up today.

We saw how dangerous Taylor is from deep in the preseason, but we've seen her win games, and not just once. Not only did the Sky knock off the No. 2-ranked Valkyries, but defeated the top defensive team in the WNBA. Taylor hit a clutch three, but also delivered the game-winning 3-pointer with a second left on the clock.

Taylor is an elite shooter and she's fearless. Over the last four games she's shooting just over 47% from three, including 66.7% against Golden State, 60% vs. Phoenix, and 45.5% against Las Vegas.

44.1% of Taylor's points are 3-pointers and she's shooting 3-pointers at a high clip (48.2%). Plus, Tyler Marsh has fully trusted her, as she boasts a 28.9% usage rate.

Mind you, Taylor missed five games this month and has been this productive even on a minutes restriction. Not only has she become clutch, but she's become "the option" in Chicago.

Final Fever vs. Sky Betting Prediction: Sydney Taylor OVER 2.5 Made Threes

There are two reasons why this is a strong player prop pick: Sydney Taylor delivered 30 points in 21 minutes against the Fever in June. In the 114-106 OT loss, she shot 10-of-14 from the field, 4-of-7 from three, and 6-of-6 from the line.

From a points perspective, she beat Clark off of the pick-and-rolls. From a 3-point standpoint, she pulled up in Clark's face with a crossover step-back not once, but twice. She even hit a contested three right in the face of Mitchell.  No matter the defender, Taylor will pull even with a little bit of space.

• I'm taking Sydney Taylor to record over 2.5 made threes today. Indiana's defensive woes continue, as the Liberty scored 109 points last night, shooting 58% from the field and 41% from three. Not only do the Fever rank No. 11 in defensive rating (108.6), but they also give up the third-most points to guards per game. Clearing this line in three of the last four games, Taylor is averaging just over 3.0 threes per game over that span. Trust Taylor's hot hand and the lack of defense on Indiana's side. 

Chicago Sky +3.5

I'm locking in the Chicago Sky to cover the 3.5-point spread as underdogs tonight at home.

There's no doubt that the Sky are figuring things out, winning three straight and are 6-4 SU over the last 10 games. Despite their record, the Sky are a decent team when it comes to covering the spread. 21-16 ATS, Chicago is 12-7 ATS at home and 14-10 ATS as an underdog.

Conversely, the Fever haven't been as efficient covering, posting an 18-20 record ATS and 8-11 ATS record on the road. The Sky are in prime position not only as the home team, but the Fever will play for the second straight night.

We've now seen the Fever fall to 4-6 ATS over the last 10 games, and haven't been able to cover against the Liberty (+1.5), Wings (-3.5), or Tempo (-10.5). Despite Indiana's 2-0 record against Chicago this season, the Sky are 2-0 ATS, and covered both 5.5 and 9.5-point spreads as underdogs.

Final Fever vs. Sky Betting Prediction: Sky +3.5

Their last matchup was decided by four points and the overtime matchup by eight. The Sky aren't getting blown out this year by the Fever and Taylor did not play in the last matchup. Her presence alone can keep Chicago in this game, as they shot 46% from the field and 41% from deep without her last game.

Chicago's offense does struggle at times, but I do not trust Indiana's defense that much. Over their three-game win streak, the Sky boast the WNBA's best defensive rating (91.5), and the third-best NET rating (5.4). In addition, they continue to be a fast-paced team led by both Taylor and Natasha Cloud.

• Chicago's issue all year long has been injuries and the inability to close out games. The -1.9 point differential doesn't nearly reflect its record and 10 of its games have been decided by four points or less. In fact, eight games have been decided by three points or less. Indiana has a strong trio, but trust the Chicago defense and size against a Fever team that's headed into a back-to-back.
