WNBA Best Bets For June 16: Player Props, Odds & Predictions Featuring Caitlin Clark and Brittney Sykes

Publish Date: Jun 16, 2026
Fact checked by: Matt Moreno
Key Points
  • Cailtin Clark is averaging nearly three 3-pointers per game over the last five contests.
  • Toronto leads the WNBA with 28.0 points per fourth quarter.
  • Kelsey Mitchell leads the Fever as the first scorer in four games.

The Toronto Tempo and Indiana Fever are the only teams playing tonight, and it's one heck of a spotlight with two very interesting teams. Caitlin Clark and the Fever (8-5) sit third in the Eastern Conference, 1.5 games in front of the Tempo. Toronto (7-7) has probably done better than most predicted it would in its inaugural season, and looks to add another impressive victory Tuesday.

The Fever have won three in a row and bring a 5-2 home record into tonight, while the Tempo are sitting one spot off the playoff race in ninth place and looking to snap a mini two-game skid.

WNBA BEST BETS: TUESDAY'S TOP PLAYER PROPS

When you have just one basketball game with a lot of premier players participating, it can open your eyes to a lot of value on the prop sheet. I scoured the odds for first scorer and was a little surprised Aliyah Boston was the favorite for Indiana to score the first bucket, as it's been Kelsey Mitchell (4) with the most first scores for the Fever, followed by Clark (3). Boston also has three.

I was also interested in seeing some of Marina Mabrey's offerings, considering some of the contentious games playing opposite Clark, and also wanted to see more of Mitchell's stats. This should be a fun game to watch, with some dynamic individuals, not to mention Toronto coach Sandy Brondello sorting out Indiana coach Stephanie White's mindset.

(Odds via FanDuel)

BRITTNEY SYKES: TORONTO'S FIRST BASKET SCORER (+350)

With the Tempo arriving in Indianapolis on a two-game skid, and Brittney Sykes coming off an 11-point performance — after scoring 20 or more in three straight — I can see her looking to get in her groove immediately, and will want the rock in her hands on the first possession.

Sykes leads the team with 4.1 points per first quarter, among players who have been in six or more games. She's also been Toronto's first scorer in four of the team's 14 games, tops on the Tempo. We know Caitlin Clark is nowhere near being an elite defender, so by getting Sykes off a pick-and-roll and in a 1-on-1 situation against Clark, I can see Brondello setting something up for her veteran star.

INDIANA FEVER vs. Toronto Tempo OVER 45.5 4Q POINTS (-118)

The Tempo have to be the best at something, right? Well, they rank No. 1 with 28.0 points per fourth quarter when playing away from Toronto. They're the only team in the WNBA that is hitting better than 50 percent in the final quarter. And they'll be taking on a Fever team that ranks sixth in the W with 22.0 points per fourth quarter when playing at home.

The Fever (.383) and Tempo (.363) rank second and third, respectively, from 3-point range in the fourth quarter, regardless of where they're playing. And you can count on two things in this game tonight: one, the Fever will be up big and Toronto will be playing against reserves, or, it's a shootout and the teams will be sending a barrage of shots to the rim.

CAITLIN CLARK OVER 2.5 3-POINTERS (-114)

Clark has been on a tear the last two games, scoring 32 points at home against Chicago and 25 in Connecticut. Now she's back home, and faces a defense that can soften its stance at the 3-point line. Clark, who averages 2.7 treys per game, is averaging nearly three per game over the last five contests. She just buried five in Connecticut.

The Fever play five of their next six games in Indianapolis, and if they're going to make a move up the standings and cement themselves in the thick of the playoff race, it'll take a huge effort from Clark and her gunner-like skills. And if we know there is one thing she is good for, it's 3-point shooting.
