  • Willie delivers his best WNBA player prop bets for Wednesday, June 17.

A near full slate on tap tonight, with the most important games on the card taking place in Phoenix and Los Angeles. But it's not about the Mercury or Sparks. It's about the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx, who are back in a tie for first place in the Commissioner's Cup race. The Western Conference winner will face the New York Liberty for the Cup, and tonight will decide it all.

It's from those two games that I am focusing my energies on player prop bets, as there is so much at stake in these games that specific players will step up in their roles, while trying to lead their teams to the Cup championship.

WNBA Best Bets & Player Props (June 17)

The Lynx have dominated their series with the Sparks, having won four straight and 12 of the last 13 meetings. If you're wondering whether or not to lay the number, the average final score in the 13 games is Minnesota 81.1 to 72.3. This is their first meeting, and the Sparks have plenty of questions lingering, so it'll be interesting to see how they answer Monday's 20-point loss in San Francisco.

The Aces have their own questions to answer, as their defense continues to struggle, as we saw in Monday's 30-point loss in Dallas. Though they're on a 6-1 win streak, they've allowed 89 or more points in four straight games. The revenge factor is in place, however, as the Mercury opened the season with a 33-point win in Las Vegas on May 9.

All that said, let's get to the best props from FanDuel.

A'ja Wilson OVER 25.5 Points (-128)

The reigning MVP just won the Western Conference Player of the Week for the 30th time in her career. I guarantee she couldn't care less. What A'ja Wilson cares about is wins, and since her Aces arrive in Phoenix after an embarrassing loss in Dallas on Monday, it wouldn't surprise me if she breaks out the white T-shirt and says, "Screw the tunnel walk, I am out for blood!"

Wilson scored just 19 points in the season-opening setback to the Mercury. But in the previous three meetings, she scored 31, 34, and 28 points. She's scored 26 or more in 10 of her last 14 meetings with the Mercury. With so much on the line, sometimes it takes the best player in the world to take over.

Alyssa Thomas UNDER 23.5 Points + Rebounds (-108)

Thomas will have a tough time tonight, as she's facing an angry Las Vegas team that will be focused on defense after the 30-point beatdown it took from Dallas on Monday, not to mention the 33-point shellacking Phoenix served on opening day when the Aces got their rings.

In 20 career meetings against the Aces, Alyssa Thomas is averaging 12.8 points and 8.2 rebounds. I'll do the math for you, that's 21. That's 2.5 less than the posted number. I don't know if it's the system or her supporting cast, but Phoenix's struggles have been contagious with its best player lately. During her last seven games, Thomas has averaged 11.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Nneka Ogwumike Double-Double (+105)

Nneka Ogwumike ranks fifth in the league with six double-doubles this season, and is averaging nearly double digits in both points (15.6) and rebounds (9.0) this season. With the Sparks coming off a disappointing showing in San Francisco, it's easy to see the team's veteran leader stepping up against the league's top team.

During her illustrious career, Ogwumike has faced the Lynx 46 times, the second-most of any other opponent. In those games, she's averaging 15.1 points and 7.5 rebounds. Of those 46 games, she's registered eight double-doubles. In her last 10 meetings with the Lynx, she's averaging 19.0 points and 8.4 rebounds. I think this is a good spot for Madame President to go off.
