The WNBA is back in full swing, with five games scheduled for Wednesday, May 27. Let's take a look at my top player props and best bets for today.
Kicking off today's slate is the Phoenix Mercury (2-5, 1-2 away) and the New York Liberty (3-4, 1-3 home). 2-5 on the season, this is a Mercury team that's one season removed from the WNBA Finals. Riding a three-game losing streak against the Dream, Sparks, and Tempo, Monique Akoa Makani should make her debut today.
New York finds itself in a similar situation as it has lost three straight to the Fire, Wings, and Valkyries. Leonie Fiebich should make her debut today, and Betnijah Laney Hamilton is back at practice. Satou Sabally, who left the last game with an illness, is questionable, along with Sabrina Ionescu.
The Liberty are 4.5-point favorites and -180 on the moneyline.
Next up is the Toronto Tempo (3-4, 2-2 away) and the Chicago Sky (3-3,0-2 home). Both teams will match up for the first time ever, as Toronto is fresh off a two-game skid against the Fire and Lynx. Similarly, the Sky have dropped two consecutive games and three of their last four.
Rickea Jackson is out for Chicago with a torn ACL, and the Sky will be without rookie Gabriela Jaquez tonight (knee). Even with such injuries, Chicago is a 5.5-point favorite and -210 on the moneyline.

The next matchup will feature the Atlanta Dream (4-1, 2-0) and the Minnesota Lynx (4-2, 1-2 home). The Dream holds the WNBA's best record, powered by Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Jordin Canada, and Angel Reese. The Dream won the first matchup of the season against the Lynx 91-90, and heads into today's meeting on a two-game winning streak.
The Lynx have managed to stay afloat amid injuries to Napheesa Collier and Dorka Juhasz. Led by Olivia Miles, Kayla McBride, Courtney Williams, and Natasha Howard, the Lynx have two consecutive wins over the Sky and Tempo.
The Dream are 2.5-point favorites and -144 on the moneyline in what is considered the marquee match up of the day.
On the West Coast, the Connecticut Sun (1-7, 1-4 away) will face the Portland Fire (4-3, 2-2 home) for the second time this season. The WNBA's newest expansion franchise, the Fire have impressed early on. Boasting an above .500 record, the Fire's two key victories came against the Liberty. Having won two in a row, they get a Sun team that owns the WNBA's worst record. Connecticut has just one victory over the Seattle Storm, and lost to Portland 83-82.
Today, the Sun are 6.5-point underdogs and +198 on the moneyline as head coach Rachid Meziane continues to search for a consistent starting five.
Last, the Washington Mystics (2-3, 2-2 away) will match up against the Seattle Storm (3-4, 2-2 home) once again. Both teams squared off three days ago, and Seattle got the best of Washington 97-85. Despite a young, talented core, the Mystics have dropped three of the last four games, and Seattle is on a two-game win streak.
Despite the records, the books tabbed the Storm as +3.5-point underdogs and +134 on the moneyline today.

In this article, you will find my best bets, player prop bets, odds, and predictions for the WNBA matchups on Wednesday, May 27. I've placed all of my bets within Fanatics, Fanduel, and DraftKings Sportsbook.
Today, I placed one unit on Dream guard Jordin Canada to record over 16.5 points and assists against the Lynx today.
Fully healthy this season, Canada has been a two-way staple for the Dream. Leading Atlanta to a 4-1 record, she's averaging 12.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 2.8 steals through five games.
Don't let Canada's 5'6" frame fool you, she's one of the craftiest, quickest guards in the league. Not to mention, she ranks third among the WNBA's assist leaders with 7.2 per game.
Let's talk assists: Canada is fresh off a career-high 14 assists in the Dream's 82-80 victory over the Mercury. Posting her first double-double of the season, she also finished with 11 points, while shooting 4-of-8 from the field and 3-of-5 from the free-throw line. The offense was flowing as Angel Reese, Allisha Gray, Jordin Canada, and Rhyne Howard combined for 67 points.
It's not even that the Dream have the best offense in the league: they put up 25.2 threes per game. Canada now has 20 assists over the last two games and hasn't dipped below. Mind you, that's with Allisha Gray struggling from the 3-point line (26.7%).
While it's early in the season, Canada is averaging a career-high 40.9% assist rate! Ironically, 53% of her assists come within the restricted area, where the Lynx allow the second-most assists. Canada is the type of guard who excels in transition, one who will push the pace.
The Dream once again gets the Lynx, whom they defeated 91-90 in the season opener. Down 19, Atlanta got the win in which Canada delivered 12 points and six assists. Minnesota's defense was forgiving, as they boast the second-best defensive rating (94.3) in the WNBA. As a team, they allow 34 points and 10.8 assists to guards per game.
Based on Canada's last performance against the Lynx, this line seems low, especially for a team that allowed 18 and 15 points and assists to Natasha Cloud and Kiki Rice.
Canada may not be the primary scorer, but she has scored 11+ points in four of the last five games. Not to mention, she's shooting 51.1% from the field, and can shoot from anywhere on the court. Given Minnesota's frontcourt depth, I wouldn't be surprised if Canada got to the line more than four times, the way she drives downhill.
This is personally one of my favorite player props for today. I placed one unit on Sky center Kamilla Cardoso to score over 14.5 points.
Now in her third season, Cardoso is averaging a career-high 14.8 points in the Post-Angel Reese Era. Shooting 54.2% from the field. Her teammates have absolutely been feeding her, especially against tough perimeter shooting teams.
Against Minnesota, Cardoso scored 17 against Natasha Howard and 24 against a weak Dallas Wings frontcourt. Luckily, I was able to grab this line ahead of a Toronto team that lacks a frontcourt. Nyara Sabally is back in action for the Tempo, but Isabelle Harrison and Temi Fágbénlé remain out.
It's surprising that Toronto has been fairly terrible on defense. Not only do they rank last in defensive rating (120.4), but they've allowed 90+ points in five straight games. Not to mention that Spark's Dearica Hamby scored 19 and 21 points against the Tempo this season.
Toronto plays small ball, and Cardoso has the clear height matchup today. 75% of her shots come inside the restricted area as she's an inside big. Unlucky for Toronto, they rank No. 14 in defending that range, allowing opponents to shoot 71%.
Cardoso should lose some reps as Azurá Stevens is back in the lineup, but she should be in a great spot here, especially in pick-and-roll plays. Although she's soared over this line just twice this season, Cardoso has scored 41 points over the last two games. With her usage rate at an 22.8%, Cardoso is shooting a respectful 59.8% true shooting percentage.
For my third-best bet, I placed one unit on Bridget Carleton to score over 14.5 points against the Connecticut Sun.
Carleton is having a breakout year, scoring 15.6 points while shooting 37.3% from beyond the arc with the Portland Fire. Portland has surprised many this season, but Carleton has been a crucial reason for their success.
Primarily known for her 3-point prowess, Carleton is so much more than that. Through seven games, she's delivered 26 points against the Liberty and now has 15+ in four of them. Not only does she lead the team alongside Carla Leite with 15.6 points per game, but she is also averaging the most minutes (29.3), field-goal attempts (11.6), and 3-point attempts (7.3).
That's a heavy amount of minutes and an extremely high 3-point attempts, which ranks No. 5 in the WNBA. Now she faces a Sun team that has just one win on the season. Connecticut allows 50.6 points to guards per game. How can I fade this?
There's always a chance of a blowout, but the Fire won by just one point last game. In Portland's 83-82 victory over Connecticut, Carleton delivered with 18 points in 33 minutes while shooting 5-of-12 from the field, 2-of-7 from three, and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
