There are three games on the WNBA card tonight, and the nightcap will have everyone's attention as the league-leading Minnesota Lynx visit the Las Vegas Aces at 8 p.m. Eastern in a nationally televised Western Conference clash on CBS. The teams split the first two meetings, with both winning on their own court. The Aces took the first game, 100-97, in what turned into a showdown between Minnesota rookie Olivia Miles (29 points) and Las Vegas' four-time MVP A'ja Wilson (24 points).
The Lynx got revenge last Saturday with a 98-87 victory as Miles led the way with 26 points joining four other Lynx players in double figures. Jackie Young led five Aces in double figures with 23 points. Tonight is the rubber match.

The day gets underway at 1 p.m. ET, when the sixth-place New York Liberty (21-14) bring an 8-2 win streak into Connecticut to face the 14th-place Sun (8-24). With nine games left in their season, the Liberty are still hoping to climb into a top-four spot in time for the playoffs. The game will be on League Pass.
Also, the Los Angeles Sparks (12-21) visit the Washington Mystics (19-14) for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip, also on League Pass. The surprising Mystics, who are 11-6 in D.C., return home after suffering back-to-back losses in Las Vegas on Tuesday and Thursday.

Prior to All-Star Weekend, the Aces had the sixth-ranked home win percentage (.583) after opening the season with a 7-5 mark in Las Vegas. During their three championship seasons, the Aces never lost more than five home games during the regular season, and coach Becky Hammon has indicated the importance of establishing dominance inside Michelob Ultra Arena. In the two games after the break, the Aces are 2-0 and have outscored the competition by 10 points, 101.0 to 91.0, while shooting 54.5% from the floor, including a whopping 44.0% from 3-point range.
Though the Lynx have won their last five road games, they came against teams that wouldn't be in the playoffs if they started tonight: Connecticut, Seattle (twice), Toronto and Portland. The last time they visited a playoff-eligible team, the Lynx lost in Brooklyn, 99-86. The odd thing about this Lynx team is its defense. It went from allowing 80.8 PPG during a 15-6 start to the season to surrendering 88.2 over their last 14 contests. That's problematic in facing one of the highest-scoring teams in the league.
The Aces are in must-win mode at this point, as they're not only chasing the second-place Golden State Valkyries, but are also holding off the hard-charging Indiana Fever, who are in fourth place after last night's win over the Dallas Wings. The Lynx may have covered eight of the last nine meetings with Las Vegas, but the home team is on SU winning runs of 3-0 and 6-1. Off back-to-back wins over a very good Washington team, the Aces are my choice to win this game.
Five straight meetings have landed north of the total, so why should this game be any different? The teams scored 197 points on June 13, and then tallied 185 points last Saturday. If this were the first stop on Minnesota's current road trip, I'd think twice. But after an 85-81 win in Portland on Wednesday, the Lynx have had two days off to rest. The Lynx are 9-2 SU when playing on two days rest, and have averaged 92.4 PPG in those games.
The Aces' emphasis on winning at home must start with their offense, especially against the league's top teams. They're scoring a 'modest' 89.4 PPG in Las Vegas, which ranks fifth in the league and a mid-range jumper shy of what they're scoring on the road (91.7). And when you look at how this team has performed when hosting the Lynx the past six seasons, you can expect an offensive burst. During a 7-3 winning run at home against Minnesota, the Aces are averaging 90.6 PPG. And remember, that includes a putrid 58-point performance that saw the Aces lose by 53 points. In the seven wins during the same span, the Aces are averaging 96.4 PPG.
The Lynx (92.6) and Aces (90.7) rank second and third, respectively, in scoring offense. Both have also found their way to triple figures often this season, with Las Vegas scoring 100 or more 10 times and Minnesota reaching the century mark 11 times, including seven of their last 12 games. This should be another incredible showdown that might even end up in overtime.
It's pricey, but it's worth it, considering what Kayla McBride has been doing lately. The veteran sharpshooter has made three or more 3-pointers in four straight games, and in nine of her last 10 games. In all, she's made at least three 3-pointers in 18 of 35 games this season. And the fact is, McBride loves coming to Las Vegas and torching the Aces whenever she can.
In 20 overall games against them, she's averaging 11.2 PPG and is making 2.1 shots per game from long range. But, in her last three trips to Las Vegas, she's averaging 17.6 PPG and 4.3 made 3-pointers against her former team. She's played for just two franchises, having begun her career in San Antonio before the team moved to Las Vegas, and she's enjoying some of the best numbers of her career this season for Minnesota. Her 18.4 PPG and 2-point field-goal percentage (.526) are career bests, while her .424 clip from 3-point range is a career second-best.
McBride is averaging 17.0 PPG and 3.5 threes after the first two meetings with Las Vegas, and should get plenty of looks tonight with the Aces likely looking to stop Miles from enjoying another big game against them. And since the Aces allow the fifth-highest 3-point shooting percentage (.353), I'll take McBride to go over.
