Publish Date: Jul 20, 2026

Key Points
  • The Las Vegas Aces are just 4-3 while being outscored by 1.0 points per game (88.1 to 87.1) off three or more days rest. They play in Toronto tonight after eight days off.
  • The New York Liberty have lost five straight away from Brooklyn, and since June 25, have allowed the fourth-most road points (93.2). They're in Dallas tonight to face the high-scoring Wings.
  • Since June 17, the Golden State Valkyries (73.0 points allowed) and Washington Mystics (74.5) boast the league's top two scoring defenses.

We open the final week before WNBA All-Star Weekend with four games on Monday's card, including the league's top four teams.

The defending champion Las Vegas Aces hit the road for their first-ever visit to Toronto to face the expansion Tempo in an 8 p.m. Eastern tip on WNBA's League Pass. Accompanying the Aces on their two-game trip before the break is a 10-2 road record. The Tempo, who will be without suspended coach Sandy Brondello, have lost two straight and six of seven.

Chelsea Gray #12 and A'ja Wilson #22 of the Las Vegas Aces react after Gray hit a 3-pointer against the New York Liberty in the third quarter of Game Three of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs semifinals at Michelob ULTRA Arena on October 04, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Aces defeated the Liberty 95-81.

Also at 8 p.m. will be the New York Liberty visiting the Dallas Wings, which will be broadcast on Peacock. The Wings are on the second leg of back-to-back games after a 90-82 win over the Los Angeles Sparks. While Dallas added to its win column, the uncertainty of MVP-candidate Paige Bueckers.

Los Angeles veteran Nneka Ogwumike was fouled as she ran downcourt and, as she fell forward to the ground, collided with Bueckers late in the fourth quarter. Wings coach Jose Fernandez said after the game he didn't have an immediate update on Bueckers. As of 10:45 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, the only person listed on the Wings' injury report was Alanna Smith (leg).

Late Monday WNBA Tipoffs

From the late card, the Washington Mystics are in the Bay Area to face the Golden State Valkyries for the second of back-to-back games in San Francisco. The Valkyries ride a nine-game win streak into the week, while sitting one game back of first place in the league standings. They're also 11-3 at home. The Mystics, meanwhile, come to town after consecutive losses, including the first of this series, 74-69 on Saturday. The game tips at 10 p.m., and can also be found on League Pass.

The first-place Minnesota Lynx head to the Pacific Northwest for the first of back-to-back games against the Seattle Storm. The Lynx are enjoying a five-game win streak, with four of the wins coming against non-playoff teams. The Storm return to Seattle mired in a four-game slide, after going 1-4 on their recent trip. The game also tips at 10 p.m., and will be broadcast on USA.

Las Vegas Aces at Toronto Tempo

  • Spread: Las Vegas -11.5 (-104) | Toronto +10.5 (-118)
  • Moneyline: Las Vegas (-600) | Toronto (+420)
  • Total: O/U 180.5 (-118/-104)

Let's take a look at Monday's odds, via FanDuel:

The Aces have been off for eight days since an embarrassing 34-point home loss to the Indiana Fever on July 12. It's allowed one of the league's highest-scoring teams to get healthy, not to mention newly signed rookie Justine Pissott to familiarize herself with coach Becky Hammon's system.

While the third-place Aces have won three straight on the road, they've failed to cover three of their last four overall. Nevertheless, they're hoping to keep pace with the Lynx and Valkyries in the standings.

Toronto's once promising season took yet another turn downward when Brondello was hit with a one-game suspension after uttering an inappropriate comment about Angel Reese during a game against the Atlanta Dream on Friday. The broadcast picked up Brondello saying Reese was a "protected species" after Tempo player Nyara Sabally went down with an injury after contact with Reese. The Tempo opened the season 7-5, but injuries have led to a 3-10 skid since. Now, they'll face the defending champs for the first time without their coach.

My Best Bet Prediction: Las Vegas Aces -11.5 (-108)

  • You would think that, given Hammon and A'ja Wilson had eight days to prepare for a game after a loss, the Aces would be raring to put their best game on the floor. But with three or more days rest this season, the Aces are just 4-3 while being outscored by 1.0 points per game (88.1 to 87.1). That said, during Toronto's 13-game slumber, it has the second-worst scoring defense, allowing 95.3 points per game with a point differential of -7.7. With Las Vegas scoring more on the road (91.5) than at home (88.3), and the Tempo missing key pieces from the roster, I have to back the champs.

New York Liberty at Dallas Wings

  • Spread: New York -3.5 (-115) | Dallas +3.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline: New York (-176) | Dallas (+142)
  • Total: O/U 175.5 (-118/-104)

Though the Wings are on their own court, the combination of the second game of a back-to-back and potentially missing Paige Bueckers could take a toll. The All-Star guard averages 20.7 points per game and 6.3 assists, numbers that will be hard to replace if she's out. What they can rely on is the confidence from a five-game win streak, all during July, including an 88-77 road win in Brooklyn.

With or without Bueckers, the Wings will have a chance to attack a Liberty squad that has allowed the league's second-most 93.0 points in July, just one-half point behind the Tempo. The Liberty have lost five straight away from Brooklyn, and since June 25, have allowed the fourth-most road points (93.2). Their defense is part of the reason they've gone over in three straight and five of six.

My Best Bet Prediction: Over 175.5 (-118)

  • Forget the side in this one, as it doesn't make much sense to speculate when Bueckers' status is up in the air. What we can count on is the Wings' offense to thrive one way or the other. With Bueckers, this is an explosive offense that ranks fourth in the league with 89.5 points per game. If Bueckers is unavailable, the Wings will find a way to spread the wealth with plenty of scorers, including Jessica Shepard (15.0), Azzi Fudd (13.3) and Arike Ogunbowale (13.3). For the Liberty, their only chance to win this game is on the offensive end, as their disappointing defense won't be able to stop Dallas' attack. However, their offense might be able to find its way if the Wings lose some stamina in the second half of this one, as it's their first back-to-back situation of the season.

Washington Mystics at Golden State Valkyries

  • Spread: Washington +8.5 (-108) | Golden State -8.5 (-112)
  • Moneyline: Washington (+290) | Golden State (-385)
  • Total: O/U 145.5 (-110/-110)

Just because Golden State took the first meeting of this back-to-back series, it doesn't mean the win came easy. The Mystics led by three with 5:55 left in the game before Kiah Stokes' 3-pointer tied the game and the Valkyries went on a 9-4 run to close the game and seal the win. In addition to their nine-game win streak, the Valkyries have 11 wins at home this season.

The last thing Washington will want to do is fall into a skid before the break after they rebounded from a 5-7 start to the season by winning seven of 10 to paint their way into the playoff picture. But after facing the Valkyries, the Mystics will fly home to face the Aces on Wednesday. The Mystics, who are mired in a 3-5 ATS skid, have stayed under in five of their last six.

My Best Bet Prediction: Under 145.5 (-110)

  • The Valkyries improved to 6-0 all-time against the Mystics, but Saturday was the first time Washington covered a meeting. And despite their two-game skid, the Mystics remain one of the top defensive teams in the league since mid-June. In fact, what we have on our hands is the league's top two scoring defenses since June 17, with the Valkyries allowing a WNBA-low 73.0 points and the Mystics just behind at 74.5. Look for a potentially tight affair that will be a grind for both offenses, producing a third-straight under between these two this season.
