The WNBA is back today with three games on the slate. The Mercury will face the Dream, while the marquee matchup of the day features the Wings vs. Liberty. Tonight, the Mystics will match up against the Storm in Seattle. This article will feature my best bets, including spread, total, and prop picks for today.

Sunday's Memorial Day Weekend slate includes an early matchup between the Phoenix Mercury (2-4) and Atlanta Dream (3-1).

Tabbed as 5.5-point favorites, the Dream have won two of their last three games, including a recent 86-69 victory over Paige Bueckers and the Wings. They are 6-4 against Phoenix over the last 10 meetings, who is riding a two-game losing streak against the LA Sparks and Toronto Tempo.

The matchup of the day features the Dallas Wings (3-3) and the New York Liberty (3-2). Set to take place at Barclays Center, the Liberty are 7.5-point favorites. Set to return today from an ankle injury is Sabrina Ionescu.

New York is the favorite to win the 2026 WNBA championship (+220) on FanDuel, which is interesting because they're fresh off a loss to the Valkyries and are 1-2 in their last three games.  New York doesn't have its entire roster together, but slowly, players are coming back from injury.

Although the Wings were trounced by the Dream, 86-69, they've won two of their last three games behind Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale. Although rotations are still being figured out and the frontcourt is questionable, Dallas is considered a massive underdog on the road today.

Last, the Washington Mystics (2-2) will face the Seattle Storm (2-4) on the West Coast. Led by Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen, and Shakira Austin, don't sleep on this Mystics team. They are .500 on the season and are now 4.5-point favorites on the road. In full rebuild mode, the No. 2 overall pick, Awa Fam, is likely to make her debut, as Seattle has lost three of its last four games.

Wings vs. Liberty Best Bets

Paige Bueckers OVER 8.5 Rebounds + Assists

If there's going to be a rebound game for Paige Bueckers, it's today. She laid an egg and was swarmed by the Dream for just 7 points on Friday.

Even when the shots aren't falling, Bueckers impacts the box score in multiple ways. Against the Dream, she pivoted from the team's primary scorer to the Wings' primary facilitator. Against a strong Dream defense, she recorded 7 assists and 1 rebound.

Bueckers' rebounding rate has decreased this season, but that was expected with free-agency signings. Still, she's averaging 5.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds, which is good for an average of 8.9 per game.  Plus, Bueckers is a taller guard at 6-feet.

The Liberty gets Satou Sabally and Sabrina Ionescu back, but Satou was under a minutes restriction. I'm not entirely convinced of the Liberty's defense, as they rank No. 8 in defensive rating (104.8).

New York handed Portland its first-ever win and allowed the Valkyries and Fire to score 87 points and 98 points against them. Turnovers have been a problem, and the Wings love to push the pace.

I'm big on this player prop, especially since New York allows the third-most rebounds (12.8) and assists (14) to guards this season. While Bueckers will likely face a bigger Liberty lineup, I'm confident she will be heavily involved in a national matchup today–she boasts a 23.4% usage rate.

Final Wings vs. Liberty Betting Prediction: Paige Bueckers OVER 8.5 Rebounds + Assists

I honestly think Bueckers can hit this prop mostly through assists. She's averaged 7+ in three of the last four games, and although point guard isn't her natural position, Bueckers is the catalyst to the offense.

  • I'm taking Paige Bueckers to record over 8.5 rebounds and assists today. I do think this line is set too low, and 45% come from the restricted area off drive-and-kick ball actions. Bueckers rarely passes from the corners, but does so a combined 30% from the mid-range and above-the-break 3, an area where the Liberty ranks No. 10. Additionally, 57% of her rebounds come from the top of the key, again an area where the Liberty ranks 10th. We've seen Veronica Burton (11) and Carla Leite (10) crush this line this season. Back Bueckers against a vulnerable Liberty squad.

Mercury vs. Dream Best Bets

Jovana Nogic UNDER 2.5 Made Threes

Today, I placed one unit on Mercury guard Jovana Nogic to record under 2.5 made threes against the Dream.

I know it's hard to fade a player who's been incredibly hot at the 3-point line. In her rookie season, Nogic is averaging 15.3 points and 3.0 made threes on 5.8 attempts per game. Logging 26 minutes under head coach Nate Tibbetts, she's become a scoring sensation in the Valley.

Her stats are not a fluke—she's shooting 51.8% from three on 9.5 field goal attempts per game. I've cashed on her over threes, but here's why I'm betting on the under for today.

With a 3-1 record, the Dream boasts the WNBA's best defensive rating (96.6) and is the most efficient team on the perimeter. With two-way players such as Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, and Jordin Canada, Atlanta has arguably one of the top two-way backcourts with depth in the league.

They allow a league-low 26.3% 3-point rate, and teams are making just 6.5 3-pointers against Atlanta this season. This is a team that excels defensively on both the weak and strong sides of the ball and navigates ball screens well.

Nogic's volume is there, but the Dream defense is very much elite. Aside from Chelsea Gray of the Aces, no guard has soared over 1.0 made threes this season. That includes Odyssey Sims and Olivia Miles.

Atlanta gives up just 79 points per game. I would be surprised if anyone from the Mercury lights it up from beyond the arc. The Dream have been lights-out against guards, allowing just 39.5 points, 14.8 3-point attempts, and 3.8 3-pointers made per game.

Mind you, that's allowed to guards collectively on a team.

Final Mercury vs. Dream Betting Prediction: Jovana Nogic UNDER 2.5 Made Threes

Unfortunately for Nogic, her sweet spot in the court is above-the-break 3, where she shoots 52%. Although she's more than just a 3-point shooter, the Dream limits opponents to just 28% shooting from that range.

  • I'm taking Jovana Nogic to record under 2.5 made threes. I think she comes back to Earth against a stingy Dream defense.

Under 81.5 Points, Phoenix Mercury

To go along with my last pick, I placed one unit on the Phoenix Mercury to record under 81.5 points against the Dream.

As mentioned previously, the Dream owns the top spot defensively and has another home matchup. This team is loaded with two-way talent, including Jordin Canada, Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, and Angel Reese.

The Mercury ranks No. 6 overall on offensive rating (109.5), averaging 88.5 points per game.  A middle-of-the-road 3-point shooting team (34.3), this is a team that heavily relies on trips to the charity stripe.

In fact, they rank No. 1 in free-throw attempts (27.5), but the Dream allow the least amount of trips to the line per game at 16.3.

We saw what the Dream did to the Wings on Friday. Not only did Atlanta limit Dallas to 69 points, but the Wings shot just 28-of-74 (38%) from the field and 7-of-28 (25%) from three. Dallas went to the line just 12 times and made 6.

Atlanta's defense was swarming, limiting Paige Bueckers to 7 points on 3-of-13 shooting. Just three players tallied points in double figures.

Although just four games into the season, the Dream have been stellar, limiting opponents to 77 points on 40.1% shooting from the field and 30% from beyond the arc at home.

Final Mercury vs. Dream Betting Prediction: Mercury UNDER 81.5 Points

The over/under total is set for 169.5; I don't think the books are expecting a relatively high-scoring matchup. Phoenix is 5-1 on the over/unders, and has scored over 81.5 points in four out of their first five games.

  • I'm taking the Phoenix Mercury to score under 81.5 points today. The Dream limited the Wings to 69 and 77 points, and the Aces to 84 points. This is a Mercury team that got blasted by the Sparks at home, 97-88. They scored 88 points, but that came against the worst defensive team in the WNBA. Over the last three games, the Dream have allowed just 75.3 points per game on 39% shooting from the field. Atlanta has one of the most complete teams defensively and should have no problem limiting Phoenix, which remains without Akani and Whitcomb.

Bonus Bet: Washington Mystics -3.5 (-112 FanDuel): 1U on the Washington Mystics to cover the 3.5-point spread on the road against the Seattle Storm.
