Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings (8-24, 3-12 away) will square off against the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever (18-14, 10-6 home) on the road.
It's been a week for the Fever, who lost guards Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson to season-ending injuries. While Caitlin Clark remains sidelined with a groin injury, the Fever announced they signed veteran guard Odyssey Sims to a hardship contract.
In their fourth and final meeting of the 2025 WNBA season, the Fever will host the Wings for the second time this year. While both rosters have drastically evolved over the season, the Fever and Wings are trending in opposite directions. Staying afloat without Clark, Indiana remains tied with the Las Vegas Aces for the fourth seed at 18-14. While Bueckers has been a bright spot for Dallas, the Wings have a 8-24 record, dropping five straight games.
Winners of five straight meetings against the Wings dating back to 2024, the Fever are tabbed as -450 moneyline and 9.5-point spread favorites among popular sportsbooks tonight.
Indiana is fresh off a much-needed 92-70 victory over the Chicago Sky. With just nine players available, the Fever found a way to win without a healthy point guard. With Kelsey Mitchell leading the helm with 26 points, Indiana had four player score in double-figures.
Dallas, on the other hand, has Rookie of the Year front-runner and No.1 overall pick Bueckers shining bright for the franchise. However, they haven't won a game since July 28, and have endured a tough second half schedule. With recent losses against the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty, Fever, and Washington Mystics, the Wings have just three wins on the road. The question remains, with DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith traded away, how far can Bueckers carry Dallas?

GP: 32 | PPG: 19.9 | FG: 45.4 % | FT: 75.6 % | 3PT : 37.7 % | REB: 1.9 | AST: 3.2 | STL: 0.9 | BLK: 0.2
My first best bet for today, I placed one unit on Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell to record over 20.5 points against the Dallas Wings.
Mitchell has been sensational in the absence of Caitlin Clark, leading the Fever in points per game (19.9 PPG), field goal attempts (15.8 FGA) per game, and free-throw attempts per game (4.1 FTA).
Recording 26 points and eight assists against a Angel Reese-less Chicago Sky team, Mitchell tallied her 17th 20-point game of the season. Now, she is in the lead for the 2025 WNBA scoring title, with 710 points. That puts Mitchell above Napheesa Collier, A'ja Wilson, and Sabrina Ionescu for the lead.
It's Rivals Week in the WNBA, and there's no better way than to shine bright on national television. Of course, there is a chance of a blowout, especially since the Wings are dealing with several ailments. However, even after the signing of Odyssey Sims, the Fever will have just ten players available, and four guards.
Aside from a few blowout and poor shooting performances, Mitchell has been one of the most consistent and productive players in the league. Sure, she was pretty much a non-factor in the Fever's 95-60 blowout loss against the Mercury. Along with that, she did have well documented struggles, shooting just 3-16 against the Seattle Storm on August 3.
Regardless, Mitchell has scored 23+ points in three of the last five games, exploding for 26 and 34 points against the Sky and LA Sparks. Now she gets some help with Sims, who could enter the starting lineup over Lexie Hull. The Fever are in desperate need of a point guard, which Sims could fill. With this, it would allow Mitchell to continue excelling off-ball. That includes back-door cuts and off-ball threes.
Now is the time for Mitchell to continue to surge—replacing Clark, Colson, and McDonald is no easy feat. Plus, she's been lights out since the WNBA All-Star break. In nine games since, she's averaging 21.9 points, shooting 39.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 42.9 percent from the field. With increased scoring production has come raised usage. Since the break, Mitchell is averaging 18.1 FGA per game, which leads the league.
Mitchell additionally leads the WNBA in 3-point attempts (8.1), and ranks third in points per game behind Collier and Wilson post All-Star.
Now she gets a Dallas Wings team, where Mitchell has scored 20+ points in all three matchups. In fact, she's averaging 25 points, and shooting 47.1 percent from beyond the arc in three matchups against Dallas. The Wings have been dreadful, allow the second most points to guards. Ranking No. 10 in defensive rating (107.4), Dallas is allowing 88 points per game over their five game losing skid.
GP: 25 | PPG: 18.5| FG: 45.9 % | FT: 86.8 % | 3PT : 34.1 % | REB: 4.0 | AST: 5.2 | STL: 1.8 | BLK: 0.6
My second best bet for today, I placed one unit on Dallas Wings rookie star Paige Bueckers to record over 17.5 points against the Indiana Fever.
Bueckers has been a bright spot for Dallas, earning a starter in the 2025 All-Star Game, and now front-runner to win Rookie of the Year. Not to mention she's extended her double-digit scoring streak to 25 games! The longest active streak, Bueckers additionally is the fastest WNBA rookie to record 450+ points, 100+ rebounds, and 100+ assists.
I'm not fading Bueckers tonight, especially on prime time television. Although probable to suit up with back soreness, Bueckers has been lights out in her rookie season.
Bueckers won't face Caitlin Clark, Syd Colson, or Aari McDonald—all injured guards for the season. However, she gets Sims, who's getting acclimated to the season, and Lexie Hull, who's a pest on the defensive end.
Even so, bettors have seen Bueckers light it up against top teams. To highlight a few performances, the former UConn standout recorded 21 points against the Liberty, 35 against the Mercury, and 19 against the Seattle Storm.
Plus, she's soared over this player prop bet in all three meetings against Indiana—averaging 18.5 points in all three meetings. In addition, Bueckers is shooting 45.9 percent, and 34.1 percent beyond the arc against the Fever this season.
I'm big on Bueckers points, as the rookie is expected to continue as the team's leading scorer through a dreadful season. Now according the Ballislife's Grant Afseth, Arike Ogunbowale missed shootaround and is questionable to lace up. Averaging 20.2 points over the last five games, Bueckers should have increased usage and scoring if Ogunbowale were to sit this one out.
Not only will Bueckers face a depleted Fever guard team, she'll look to continue to cement herself as the clear cut Rookie of the Year. The Fever have been unforgiving, allowing the third least points to guards this season. However, I'm banking on Bueckers to bounce back and have a decent game.
My third best bet for today, I placed one unit on the Indiana Fever to cover the 6.5 favorable spread against the Dallas Wings.
The line originally opened at Fever -5.5, with the books anticipated somewhat of a competitive rivals matchup. However, the line continues to shift, and the Fever are now heavy 9.5-point spread favorites. The odds changed significantly since Arike Ogunbowale was listed as questionable tonight.
Let's face it, both teams are trending in the opposite direction. 14-18 ATS this season, the Wings hold a -5.9 net rating, including a -11.3 net rating over their five game losing skid.
We saw how dominant the Fever could be, defeating the Chicago Sky, 92-70. Mind you, that was without Caitlin Clark, Aari McDonald, and Syd Colson.
The Fever should get a boost tonight point guard wise with Odyssey Sims, and she stated she's gotten accustomed to some basic plays. Either way, this team is fighting to stay in playoff contention— and both Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham have more than proved their value to the organization.
Yes, the Fever boasts a 4.2 net rating, despite that dropping over that last 10 games. 5-0 SU against Dallas over their last five meetings, Indiana has covered the spread in each of their three meetings this year. In those meetings, Indiana holds a +37 point differential, which averages out to a 12.3 point differential.
The Fever may have fallen in the defensive ranks, however, they face a Wings team that has holds a -46 point differential over the losing streak. Losing by double-digits in two straight games, this Dallas team is one that's struggled on both sides of the ball.
Averaging just 78.8 points over that span, Dallas is allowing nearly 90 points (88) per game.
Overall, we've seen the Wings cover as large 12 and 11.5 point spread underdogs against the Liberty. Although injuries continue to plague the Fever, I don't see Dallas coming within 6.5 points here. 11-15 ATS as underdogs, I don't expect this game to be remotely close if Ogunbowale can't lace up.
