It's Sunday, and there's a highly anticipated matchup between the Dallas Wings (6-15, 2-9 away) and the Indiana Fever (10-10, 6-6 home).

Today's matchup will also feature two of the most prominent point guards in the league, Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark. Due to injuries on Clark's side, both Bueckers and Clark will face off for the first time in their WNBA careers. Plus, we all remember when the two squared off when Iowa defeated UConn in the NCAAW Final Four a few years back. While the Paige Bueckers vs Caitlin Clark debate continues, there's no denying bettors are in for a real treat. Today's matchup features two of the youngest talents in the WNBA.
Both named WNBA All-Stars, Bueckers leads a rebuilding Wings squad who are 6-15 on the season, and is fresh off a two-game skid against the Sky and Mercury. 0-3 in their last three head-to-head matchups, the task doesn't get any easier today! The Fever are heavy 9.5-point spread favorites and are coming off a gritty 99-82 victory over the Atlanta Dream.
Here are my top FanDuel July 13 player prop picks for the Dallas Wings vs Indiana Fever showdown, featuring Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark.
My first best bet for today, I placed one unit on Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark to record over 8.5 assists and 2.5 made threes against the Dallas Wings.
Second behind Alyssa Thomas for most assists in the WNBA (8.6), Clark is nearly averaging a double-double every game, even limited to just 11 games with groin and hamstring injuries.
Having hit the deck quite a few times in the Fever's last matchup against the Atlanta Dream, Clark seems to be hovering around 25-26 minutes in her last two matchups. Unless something has changed, I don't see her going full throttle in minutes given All-Star is next weekend.
Since Clark's scoring production has been up and down, along with unpredictable patterns, I'm choosing to bet on one of her most consistent stats–assists. Considered one of the most pristine playmakers in the WNBA, Clark is coming off nine assists and 12 points in just 26 minutes in the Fever's 99-82 victory over the Dream. As time goes on, it's evident this team can survive and thrive without Clark as the top scorer.
Not to mention, the two-player game between Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston is tremendous, and 44 assists this season alone has transpired from Clark to Boston. Not to mention, Boston has been playing lights out, and leads the WNBA in field goal percentage (58.1 %).
Clearly Clark's assists depend on her teammates performance–however, Clark's connection with Kelsey Mitchell has stronger than ever. Considered one of the most craft players with a strong back door cut presence, Clark has recorded 17 assists alone to Mitchell.
Overall, Caitlin Clark has soared over this player prop line in four of the last five games, averaging 8.6 assists during that span. Although she faces a revamped Dallas Wings team, Clark has recorded 39 assists in her last three head-to-head matchups against Dallas dating back to last season.
Soaring over this assists prop in 8/11 games this season, Clark and the Fever get a favorable matchup against the Wings, who are in clear rebuild mode. With injuries, trades, and Eurobasket, the Wings continue to have an evolving roster, one that's always changing.
With just six wins on the season, the Wings are respectfully in full rebuild mode alongside Paige Bueckers. Ranked No. 10 in defensive rating (106.9), Dallas should get Arike Ogunbowale back from injury. Even so, they allow the most assists in the WNBA with 21.9 APG.
The Wings allow the second most assists to guards, and they give up a combined 12 dimes to guards per game this season. Not to mention, they gave up 24 assists to the Chicago Sky last matchup, and 15 dimes along to Mercury star Alyssa Thomas the matchup prior.
My second best bet for today, I have Caitlin Clark to record over 2.5 made threes against the Dallas Wings.
Although she's been injures, it's no secret Clark's 3-point efficiency has massively dropped off. Notorious for her deep threes and logo shots, she's shooting a career-low 28.9 percent from beyond the arc this season.
Call it a sophomore slump, or chalk it up to injuries, I have Clark with a bounce back primetime game today. Yes, Caitlin Clark is just 8-41 (19.5 %) from deep over the last six games. Yes, Paige Bueckers is an underrated defender. However, the Wings as a whole allow the highest 3-point percentage of any team in the WNBA (37.4 %).
Until DiJonai Carrington is back from injury, the Wings will continue to be without their best defensive star. Now, that's not to say JJ Quinerly isn't a pest on the defensive side of the ball. Either way, Clark has the height and step back to pull plenty of deep shots today.
With that said, teams are making the third most 3-points per game against the Wings with 8.8 3PM per game, and Dallas is allowing 86 points per game!
Not to mention, the Chicago Sky shot 47.6 percent from three against the Wings last matchup, and Rebecca Allen had an incredible performance with 27 points, five of which came from the 3-point line. In the 102-72 massacre against Phoenix, Sami Whitcomb had a career day with 7-11 3-pointers for 36 points.
Overall, the Mercury and Sky shot a combined 45.7 percent from deep over the last two games against Dallas, the Clark get's a shot at redemption today.
I'm not terribly worried about shot volume, it's there and the concern remains will they start to fall. Although Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, and Sophie Cunningham are all 3-point threats, Clark leads the Fever with 15.5 FGA per game, and 8.2 3-point attempts per game.
Although this is her season debut against Caitlin Clark and the Wings, Clark is averaging 6.8 3-point attempts over the last six games. Plus, Clark loves to shoot from above the break 3, a range where opponents are shooting 33 percent against the Dallas Wings.
My third best bet for today, I have Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers to record over 16.5 points against the Indiana Fever.
With Arike Ogunbowale expected to suit up, I am expecting she'll possibly be under some sort of minutes restriction. If not I would be shocked. With this, Bueckers player prop line decreased to 16.5.
The leading Rookie of the Year candidate, Bueckers has been stellar in her first season with the Wings, averaging 18.1 points on the season. Although she's going through a rough shooting stretch (8-31) over the last two matchups, she'll get another shot against the Fever.
Having already faced a Caitlin Clark-less Fever on June 27, Bueckers exploded for 27 points on 9-18 and 2-3 3PT in 36 minutes. Mind you, that was without Arike Ogunbowale, NaLyssa Smith was still on the roster.
While we know Bueckers excels both on and off ball, she's one of the best in creating her own shot around screens. Not to mention, she's been much more physical and aggressive in driving downhill as of late.
Even through several roster cuts, trades, and changes—Paige Bueckers remains the Wings' top scorer, and is second behind Ogunbowale in FGA (14.7) and 3PA (3.3) per game. Plus, she leads the roster with 4.5 free-throw attempts per game.
Ten points shy of 300 career points, Bueckers get's a matchup against the Fever backcourt that will not have Aari McDonald in the starting lineup. With Lexi Hull in the lineup, it dramatically changes the landscape defensively for the Fever.
Although the Fever matchup against guards well, they recently allowed opposing guards to have monstrous performances. Over the last few outings, Jordin Canada (30 points), Veronica Burton (21 points), and Kelsey Plum (20 points) have had decent performances against Indiana.
While the Fever have their initial starting five back, there's good news for Bueckers. Cracking the top 15 in three-throw attempts per game, the Fever allow the third most trips to the charity stripe per game with 22.6.
Given most of Bueckers shots come from the midrange (46.7 %), and above the break 3 (34 %), all eyes will be on Bueckers and Clark today.
