Game 5 of the WNBA Finals has arrived, and we have a must-watch deciding game between the Minnesota Lynx and the New York Liberty. Down 2-1, the Lynx fought their way back and tied the series 2-2, thanks to a couple of points made at the charity stripe by Bridget Carleton.
In a winner-takes-all deciding game 5, the Liberty have the home-court advantage. With all the momentum, can the Lynx stun the Liberty and win it all on the road?

Following an 82-80 game 4 victory over the Liberty, these playoff games have been filled with energy, passion, and physical play. While I've given my best spread bets in my previous article, I will provide my top three player prop bets for the Finals game. If you tail my plays, I've placed all of my bets within FanDuel sportsbook.
Let's finish out the WNBA season strong and cash out today! With that said, I'll take a deep dive into my best player prop bets for Sunday, October 20.
Are you looking to bet on the WNBA Finals game 5 between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx? Here at Ballislife Bets, we've gathered a complete list of the best sports betting offers here.
PPG: 20 | FG: 39.1 % | FT: 84.6 % | 3PT : 27.9 % | REB: 8.9| AST: 3.6 | STL: 1.5 | BLK: 1.6
My first player prop bet, I chose to double-down on Liberty star Breanna Stewart. Although I rarely double down on my bets, it's a deciding game 5 of the WNBA Finals. With that said, you can take these as straight bets or parlay them. With a unit on each play, I bet on Stewart to record a double double, 10+ rebounds, and to be the rebounding leader.
Overall the Lynx have been getting destroyed on the rebounds, and second chance points all series long by the Liberty. A strong player prop for today, Breanna Stewart very much struggled last matchup, and managed to hit all three of these bets. I'm simply not fading the former MVP in such a decisive game.
Friday left me on the edge of my seat, since Stewart grabbed the 9th and 10th rebound in the final seconds of the game. While Stewart went 5-21 from the field, not only was she missing shots, Napheesa Collier and company were doubling the star. Having blown up for 30 points in game 3, the Lynx had a solid defensive plan for Stewart on Friday.
Not able to strike in four attempts from beyond the arc, this isn't the Stewie bettors and fans are used to seeing. While I do believe the Lynx will make offensive production difficult, I expect Stewart to record a double-double. Even on 5-21 shooting, Stewart finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block last matchup.
It was truly shocking to see Stewart struggle so much from the field last game. However, the former UConn Husky is coming off two consecutive double-doubles, and now will have to put everything on the line in game 5. Mentioned previously, the Liberty have size and rebound advantage over the Lynx, something Stewart is more than capable of handling tonight. Although only averaging 8.9 boards in the playoffs, Stewart's totaled 22 rebounds in the last two games. A crucial x-factor in New York's second chance points advantage, Stewart had six offensive boards alone Friday.
Scoring in double-digits in all but one in the regular season and playoff game, there's no doubt in my mind Stewart will score at least 10 points. She proved that even when limited to 23 percent from the floor in game 4. As far as scoring goes, Stewart has at least 18+ field goal attempts in all four Finals game vs the Lynx. Playing 34 minutes, I don't expect Stewart to come off the floor too much tonight.
Primarily matched up with Collier, the rebounding matchup won't be an easy task. However, Stewart does have a three inch size advantage, and will hit the rebound total if she keeps Collier off the three-point line. For +140 odds, I love Breanna Stewart to be the leading rebounder tonight. Although not the tallest player on the court, Stewart has been the leading rebounder over the last two games. While Collier hasn't tallied boards in double figures all series long, I expect Stewart to win that battle tonight.
The top rebounding team in the playoffs, the Liberty boast a 54 % rebounding rate. With the season on the line, expect Stewart to stay aggressive. Although the Lynx and Liberty are excellent in reading switches, Stewart is the ultimate rim protector. Expect her to be active in the paint tonight. Expect Stewart to continue to dominate where the Lynx struggle, and that's on the defensive boards.
For plus money, this is a no brainer, especially since Stewart's been the rebound leader for two straight games. If there's anyone I trust to get it down in the biggest moments, it's Breanna Stewart. My top player prop of the night, these are strong plays.
PPG: 14.6 | FG: 44.1 % | FT: 91.3 % | 3PT : 48 % | REB: 4.1| AST: 6.5 | STL: 1.3 | BLK: 0.2
My second player prop of game 5 is Lynx guard Courtney Williams to record over 20.5 points and assists for -114 odds tonight vs the Liberty. All Finals long, we've seen Courtney Williams step up, not only scoring wise, but as a facilitator. While head coach Cheryl Reeve was adamant on not calling Williams a point guard, she's been excellent in transitioning as a two guard to the primarily ball handler this season.
If you're a WNBA fan, you know that Williams has been one of the most consistent scorers throughout her career, and that's been on full display in the WNBA Finals. A strong player prop bet, we've seen the facilitator Williams can be. For example in game 4, that nasty crossover left to a beautiful drive and kick pass to Alanna Smith for a corner three. Averaging 6.5 dimes in the playoffs, Williams have been sensation in the Finals vs the Liberty. Coming off a seven assists game, Williams is averaging 7.0 assists through four games, and has a total of 15 in the last two games. Overall, I do believe this prop line is low, especially since her assist totals have increased over the Finals.
And expected to be in attendance is her dad, who's made in appearance in all of the playoff games. The Courtney Williams effect is real and it's here.
As mentioned before, it's do or die for New York and Minnesota. Not Williams first rodeo in the finals, she's been a crucial factor in the Lynx starting five, and has put up points in double-figures every game so far. Now the Lynx head back to New York, where Williams had an unforgettable 23 point performance in game 1. With several and one shots in the series, Williams is the true definition of grit and toughness. A main reason why the Lynx are still in this, Williams will do whatever it takes to get the win.
Although Williams hasn't scored over 20 points since, the Lynx guard is averaging 13 points in games 2, 3, and 4. Primarily guarded by 3 and D guard Betnijah Laney-Hamilton and Leonie Fiebich, Williams has still found a way to score. The Liberty will make it difficult, however, it's difficult to keep up with Williams, especially a speedy guard who is a three-level scorer. Explosive in attacking the basket, she can mainly score from anywhere on the court, especially that notorious mid range jumper.
If the Liberty continue to push the pace, Williams will get tired, and that's what we saw in game 4. Tallying 29 minutes, the guard poured in 15 points and 7 assists. Finishing the night on 7-16 shooting, there were several times Williams was breathing heavy on the bench. Given today is game 5, I do expect Williams to play hefty minutes tonight.
Although more of a hybrid guard, Williams has the IQ and passing abilities to find the open teammates, as well as creating her own shot. Averaging 23.25 points and assists in the Finals series, I do believe this prop line will increase as the day goes on. Shooting 48 percent from beyond the arc, Williams hasn't shot efficiently the last two games. However, averaging anywhere from 14-16 field goal attempts per game, expect Williams to put up points in double figures. Not to mention, Williams is shooting well over 90 % from the free-throw line, and has gotten to the stripe five times in games 3 and 4.
With this player prop, I also bet on Courtney Williams to be the assists leader at -105 odds on FanDuel. For nearly plus money, it will be a close battle between the Lynx guard and Sabrina Ionescu. However, Williams has bene the assists leader in all four games of the WNBA Finals. With such great odds, it's hard to fade a players who's been spectacular in sharing the rock, hitting 7+ dimes in four of the last games. Overall, Williams totaled six assists through seven matchups with the Liberty this season.
If you're betting on WNBA player prop bets tonight, take lay the points with Courtney Williams for points and assists, along with assists leader.
PPG: 11.5 | FG: 56.9 % | FT: 100 % | 3PT : 54.5 % | REB: 3.5 | AST: 2.5 | STL: 0.7 | BLK: 0.0
My final player prop bet of today, I'm taking Liberty rookie Leonie Fiebich to record over 13.5 points and assists tonight for -118 odds on FanDuel. Let me tell you, Fiebich may be a rookie, however, she's been the difference maker on this liberty team.
When the biggest stars have been bottled up, it's been Fiebich who's stepped up in multiple occasions. In doing so, the German native is shooting at an elite level. Averaging 11.5 points through the playoffs, Fiebich has been lights on from the floor (56.9 %), and beyond the arc (54.5 %).
Often patient when the double team occurs or when the defense collapses, she's been crucial. If the Lynx continue to swarm Stewart and Ionescu tonight, Fiebich will play a large roll in the offense. At 6'4, she has the length and versatility the Liberty need to win this matchup.
Pouring in 19 points and 5 assists in game 4, Fiebich shot 7-12 (58.3 %), and 2-5 from beyond the arc (40 %). A tough player who takes a ton of shots, we saw a tad bit more athleticism from Fiebich last game. In fact, we've seen her back away from the three-point line, and drive to the basket on several occasions.
Although Ionescu has been New York's primarily facilitator, we've seen Fiebich pass up the rock, and tallied five dimes on Friday. Take the assists away, the Liberty rookie is averaging 12.5 points in the Finals alone. Now add the 3.5 assists she's been averaging in the series. Overall, I do believe this prop line is way too low, especially for a player that's shooting well over 50 percent from the field and three-point line.
This is a strong player prop bet today, especially since Fiebich has replaced veteran Courtney Vandersloot in the starting lineup. Getting plenty of starts for the once injured Betnijah Laney-Hamilton all season long, expect Fiebich to play a ton of minutes tonight for Sandy Brondello. Coming off 36 minutes, expect Fiebich to hit this prop alone from a points perspective.
Scoring 11+ points in four of the last five games, the points and assists prop has soared over in four of the last matchups. Hitting the over in all but one Finals game against the Lyx, lay the points with Liebich today.
