WNBA Parlay No. 1

• Indiana -8.5 at -110

It’s a little risky taking the Fever to cover because you just can’t tell if their defense is going to show up on any given night. But they just played Phoenix at home, held the Mercury to 77 points, and covered a 7.5-point spread, winning 86-77. Phoenix is playing solid defense on the road, holding teams to 80 points a game, but they struggle to score (77.8 points per game, No. 13 in the league).

I don’t trust the Mercury to score on Indiana’s defense. But the Fever will score enough on them to cover the spread.

• Minnesota -9.5 at +100

Washington beat the Lynx in Minneapolis on Sunday, 84-79. But Minnesota is certainly the better team of the two and will be looking to return the favor with a win over the Mystics on their own court. Expect a cleaner, more efficient game from the Lynx. Minnesota has yet to lose ATS when on the road. Today’s game will not be the first.

• Golden State ML at +114

Atlanta is one of the best teams in the league this season and has averaged 100+ points across their last five games. But they will be facing the best home defense in the WNBA tonight (79.4 points allowed per game). Golden State makes more 3-pointers than anyone per game (11.1), and Atlanta does not defend the perimeter well.

Look for the Valkyries to go off from 3-point range and steal a win from the Dream.

WNBA Parlay No. 2

• Kelsey Mitchell, Over 20.5 Points at -106

Caitlin Clark may be the belle of the ball in Indiana, but Kelsey Mitchell is still one of the best scoring threats in the league. She is averaging 20.9 points per game, has gone over this total in three of her last four games, and in nine of 17 games this season. Mitchell had 22 points in Monday’s game against Phoenix at home. She’ll go over this total again tonight against a lackluster Mercury defense.

• Olivia Miles, Over 29.5 Pts + Reb + Ast at -112

Olivia Miles has become a team leader with the absence of Napheesa Collier to start the season, and a frontrunner for WNBA Rookie of the Year. She went over this mark in Sunday’s game vs. the Mystics in Minneapolis (22/5/6) and has done so in seven of her last nine games. Washington is not playing bad defense at home, but it’ll have to play good-to-great defense to slow Miles down.

Don’t count on it; she’ll go over this total again.

• Emily Engstler, Over 4.5 Rebounds at -166

Emily Engstler leads the Fire in rebounding this season with 4.7 per game, but is averaging 5.3 per game on the road. Chicago allows a league-high 40 rebounds per game to opponents when playing at home. At the least, I expect Engstler to pull down at least five in this matchup.

WNBA Parlay No. 3

• Kamilla Cardoso (PDX vs. CHI), First Basket at +320

Portland has made the first basket in six games this season, while Kamilla Cardoso has done so in four, including two of the last three games for the Sky.

• Kelsey Mitchell (PHX vs. IND),  First Basket for Team +300

Kelsey Mitchell has the third-highest usage rate on the team at 25.1%, but since Aliyah Boston often takes the opening jump ball and defense is keyed on Caitlin Clark, she has a better chance of getting an open look at the basket.

• Shakira Austin (MIN vs. WAS), First Basket at +470

Including Sunday’s game vs. Washington, Minnesota has made the first basket in four games this season. Washington, however, has taken the first shot in 11 and made the first basket in 10. Shakira Austin leads the team with four of each.
