As mentioned in my previous betting article, Wings No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers will return to where it all started—her hometown state. Stating family and friends are expected to attend, this is arguably the most significant game of Buecker's career so far. Growing up a massive Lynx fan, this is a full-circle moment.
The Lynx are set on a WNBA championship after losing to the New York Liberty in last year's finals. Off to a blazing 2-0 start, Minnesota remains without their star player, Kayla McBride. With Alanna Smith expected to lace up, the Lynx polished off the Wings in the season opener without her, 99-84.
Nearly breaking 100 points, Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams stole the show—combining for 59 points. No McBride and Smith—no problem. The Lynx shot well over 50 percent from the field, and received outstanding performances from Diamond Miller and Jessica Shepard (who are both healthy).
The Wings didn't have one starter finish positive on the court, and Bueckers did struggle somewhat in her debut. Although shooting just 3-10, Bueckers added 10 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 block. With head coach Chris Koclanes experimenting with rotations, the Wings bench produced 26 points!
The Lynx had a massive third quarter to propel themselves over the Wings, and since defeated the Los Angeles Sparks, 89-75. The Wings are 0-2, and have a vastly different roster from last season. Even by selecting Bueckers No. 1 overall combined with high profiled free agents, the Wings are 11.5 point spread underdogs tonight.

In this article, I've switch things up! I cooked up a four-leg same-game parlay for the Wings vs Lynx game. Keep in mind, since this is a parlay, the odds are higher. Therefore, I always preach responsible betting!
Let's take a look at my Same Game Parlay (SGP) for tonight!
MONEYLINE
SPREAD
OVER/UNDER (TOTAL)
GP: 2 |PPG: 19 | FG: 44.1 % | FT: 100 % | 3PT: 45.5 % | REB: 4.5 | AST: 9.5 | STL: 0.5 | BLK: 0.3
My first two legs of my same game parlay, I have Courtney Williams to record over 5.5 assists, and to score over 11.5 points against the Dallas Wings.
I normally don't double up on the same player in SGP's, however, Williams has been crucial to the Lynx early success. Although the Lynx are likely to get Alanna Smith back in the lineup, her minutes have been limited. With that, Williams has stepped up tremendously in the absence of Lynx guard Kayla McBride.
Thanks to a dominate third quarter against the Wings in the season opener, Williams recorded 25 points, 9.0 assists, and 4.o rebounds in 28 minutes against Dallas. 10-15 from the floor, Williams shot 2-4 from deep. Although a small sample size, Williams is averaging career-high's in points, assists. Not to mention, she's been a flamethrower beyond the arc, shooting 45.5 percent.
On Sunday, Williams is fresh off her first double-double of the season, recording 13 points and 10 assists agains the Sparks.
We know Courtney Williams has one of the smoothest jump shots, especially when it comes to the mid-range. A vital part of this Lynx team, she's the second leading scorer on the roster, and is averaging a respectable 17 field goal attempts per game. Not to mention, William's 5.5 3-point attempts are the most of her career.
No. 8 in scoring among guards in the WNBA, Williams ranks second behind Caitlin Clark with the most assists in the league (9.5). In addition, she's No.3 in field goal attempts per game with 17.
Having already faced the Wings, Williams did some heavy damage on the road. Now they face a struggling Wings team at home—one that's still building chemistry. Under heach coach Chris Koclanes, this is a team that's slowly building an identity.
Even adding Bueckers and DiJonai Carrington, the Wings have yet to feel the full impact defensively. The Wings rank No. 9 in defensive rating (107.2), and face the Lynx—who are ranked No.1 in offensive rating (116).
With that said, Williams soared over 12 points twice this season, and has 19 assists in two games. While it starts with MVP candidate Napheesa Collier, the Lynx have an elite head coach in Cheryl Reeve. Now with Smith back, that gives Williams more options on the facilitating end of things.
In her first matchup against Dallas last week, Williams was second behind Collier with 15 shot attempts. In addition, she led all Lynx players with nine assists. As a whole, the Lynx had 27 assists, compared to the Wings 15! +24 on the court, I'm expecting another dominant performance from Courtney Williams.
Overall, Williams has nine assists in two consecutive games, and the Wings allow the most assists in the WNBA with 26 per game. Plus, the Lynx have great ball movement, and lead the league in assists per game (27).
There's not too many players that can stop Courtney Williams in the mid-range, and getting to her sweet spots. Plus, she's stepped up as the primary facilitator as a combo guard for the Lynx. Until Dallas figures things out defensively, I'm going heavy on Williams tonight.
GP: 2 |PPG: 14.5 | FG: 41.7 % | FT: 88.9 % | 3PT : 25 % | REB: 6.0 | AST: 5.0 | STL: 1.0 | BLK: 1.0
My second best bet for my same game parlay, I have Paige Bueckers to record over 14.5 points.
Now that the jitters are out of the way, facing the Lynx during your WNBA debut is not an easy task. Having struggled from the field, Bueckers managed to escape with 10 points.
As her comfortability and confidence grows, I don't see Bueckers having a repeat 3-10 shooting performance. Not to mention, Bueckers was limited to just 30 minutes in the season opener vs the Lynx. In the 79-71 loss against Seattle, No. 5 is coming off 37 minutes.
It's still unclear who will run the offense in Dallas, and whether Bueckers is truly more comfortable on or off the ball. I did like Bueckers off the ball when sharing the court with Ty Harris against Seattle. Then again, Bueckers thrives off screens in the mid-range on ball.
With Arike Ogunbowale struggling greatly, Bueckers remains the Wing's leading scorer with 14.5 points per game. With that said, the former UConn star is averaging 12.0 field goal attempts, 4.5 free-throw attempts, and 2.0 3-point attempts per game. Those stats are against both the Lynx and Storm—who have championship pedigree players.
This is arguably Buecker's biggest game of the year, set to play in front of a home crowd of fans. In her return to Minnesota, I'm expecting her to build off last game.
Against Seattle, Bueckers led the team with 19 points, and shot 7-14 from the field. While some of the shots haven't come easy, her efficiency, shot volume, and minutes have only increased.
Having already faced the Lynx, the Wings will undoubtedly struggle a bit against one of the best defensive players in Napheesa Collier. However, Bueckers has 29 points through two games, on 24 field goal attempts.
GP: 2 | PPG: 28.5 | FG: 56.4 % | FT: 100 % | 3PT: 66.7 % | REB: 5.0 | AST: 2.5 | STL: 1.0 | BLK: 0.5
My third best bet for Wings vs Lynx same game parlay, I have Napheesa Collier to record over 19.5 points per game.
If it wasn't for A'ja Wilson having a historic season last year, Collier would've most likely have won MVP. Now she leads the WNBA with 28.5 points per game—and leads the league in field goal attempts (19) and field goals made (11). Collier has taken her game to new heights, and I expect her to soar over this line tonight.
Collier has continued to step up in the absence of McBride, and has back-to-back 23+ point performances. With 57 points and 39 field goal attempts through the first two games, I'm not expecting Collier to dip below 20 points.
She's one of the best in the mid-range, and got to the charity stripe (8-8) eight times against the Wings in the opener.
As the Wings continue to progress, I do have concerns about the frontcourt—Although Teaira McCowan showed signs of life last game for Dallas. Is there anyone on the Wings who can truly guard Collier?
In the opener, Collier was practically walking into the paint at times, and the Wings are the third most points in the WNBA with 89. That said, Dallas is allowing 38 paint points per game, and the Wings allowed Nneka Ogwumike to erupt for 23 points.
Napheesa Collier is one of the greatest, more pure scorers in the WNBA, and I'm not fading this tonight.
