WNBA Player Props Today (August 11): Best Bets, Odds & Predictions Featuring Kelsey Mitchell

Three games on the WNBA card tonight, two with plenty of playoff implications, and a third with a huge return for one of the league's biggest stars.

From the Eastern Conference, we have the New York Liberty visiting the Indiana Fever in a battle between teams that are separated by just one-half game. The Fever (29-12) are in fifth place while the Liberty (20-13 are sitting in seventh. The Liberty arrive on a four-game win streak, while the Fever boast an 11-6 record at home. The nationally televised game tips at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

The league's hottest team will headline Las Vegas Boulevard when the streaking Washington Mystics visit the defending champion Aces in a 10 p.m. ET clash on League Pass. The Mystics have won seven in a row and are within striking distance of leapfrogging the Fever and Atlanta Dream for fourth place in the standings. The champs return home after a 2-3 road trip that included back-to-back losses in Minneapolis and Brooklyn over the weekend.

Evening Matchup

Finally, in the Western Conference, Kelsey Plum and the Phoenix Mercury visit the Los Angeles Sparks in her first game back in Southern California since being traded away. The return won't be quite as emotional as when she played in Las Vegas for the first time after leaving the Aces since she's listed out for this one, but she still became a fan favorite and should get a heart-filled reception. Both teams are playing for a miracle late-season run at the eighth and final playoff spot. The game tips at 10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBATV.

Kelsey Mitchell OVER 24.5 points (-118)

Kelsey Mitchell will continue her offensive tear in an important game, as the Fever look to secure a top-four spot in the playoff seeding, which would guarantee a homecourt edge in the opening round. The four-time All-Star has scored 26 or more points five straight games and seven of her last eight. Since July 17, Mitchell leads the league with 29.0 points per game on .548 shooting. That includes a .483 clip from 3-point range, with a league third-best 3.6 3-pointers during the same stretch.

Mitchell is also averaging 24.7 points in Indianapolis this season. And though she might be averaging a mere 17.8 points in 29 career appearances against the Liberty, make note she's scored an average of 27.6 points against them in the last three meetings, including two this season. She poured in 33 points during Indiana's 20-point win over the Liberty when the teams met in Indianapolis on July 18. Look for Kelsey Mitchell to turn in another big game.

Sonia Citron OVER 1.5 3-pointers (+100)

This might be the biggest gift of the night, as the hottest team in the league with one of the deadliest long-range gunners takes the court against one of the weakest perimeter defenses. Sonia Citron arrives on the Las Vegas Strip after burying five 3-pointers in a 20-point win over Phoenix on Sunday. She's now made 10 threes in her last five games, an average of 2.0 per game.

The second-year pro should have no problem sinking two against an Aces defense that allows the third-highest 3-point shooting percentage (.354) and a league-tying fourth-most 3-pointers per game (9.1). And by the way, in five games played against the Aces, she's buried 12 from beyond the arc — an average of 2.4 per game — tied for second most against any opponent. Forget two, Sonia Citron might can make three or four against the travel-weary Aces who have had just one day to recover from their five-game trek across the country.

Nneka Ogwumike OVER 1.5 3-pointers (+124)

The Sparks have plenty of talent left after Plum's departure, but they know Madame President is the one who can make the engine run. Nneka Ogwumike has scored no more than 16 points in the last three games, but with this being the second back home following a rugged clash against the defensive-minded Golden State Valkyries, it's a good spot to see her can a couple from long range.

Ogwumike has made two or more from beyond the arc in three of the last five games, and in eight of the last 12. In 48 career games against the Mercury, she's averaging 16.1 PPG and owns a career .377 shooting percentage from long range against them. Tonight she'll face a Phoenix team that allows 9.9 3-pointers per game — most in the league — and a league-worst .370 shooting from beyond the arc.
