Camp Day has arrived, and the Connecticut Sun defeated the Portland Fire 90-87 early this morning in Uncasville, led by Aaliyah Edwards' 21 points.
Tonight, Sonia Citron and the Washington Mystics (11-10, 6-5 away) will face Marina Mabrey and the Toronto Tempo (10-13, 6-7 home).
This is a crucial game ahead, as the Tempo remain two games back of the Mystics for the eighth and final playoff spot. Washington holds a 2-0 series lead over the Tempo and will now get a third chance of a victory on the road. With a 6-4 record over the last 10 games, Washington is tabbed as a 2.5-point favorite. In addition, oddsmakers are predicting a higher-scoring affair with the over/under total set at 171.5 points.
Marina Mabrey has caught fire, averaging 21.8 points per game in July. Toronto is now dealing with the aftermath of "shoegate," in which Betnijah Laney-Hamilton was ejected after throwing a shoe at Mabrey. Now they head into tonight's affair with a colossal 93-91 victory over the New York Liberty on Sunday.
Can Toronto find the win column against Washington? Key players including Temi Fagbenle, Brittney Sykes, and rookie Kiki Rice remain sidelined with injuries.

Let's take a look at my player prop bets, odds, and best predictions for the WNBA matchups on Tuesday, July 14.
For my first best bet today, I'm locking in Toronto Tempo star Marina Mabrey to record over 23.5 points today.
Aforementioned, Mabrey has emerged as the option 1A for Toronto, especially in the absence of Kiki Rice and Brittney Sykes. Named a WNBA All-Star for the first time in her career, it's time to put Mabrey in the MVP conversation.
Mabrey is one of the WNBA's most underrated shot creators and is having a breakout season in her first year with the Tempo. Through 22 games, she's averaging a career-best 21.6 PPG, while shooting 40.4% from beyond the arc. Additionally, Mabrey's putting up 3.5 RPG, 3.6 APG, shooting 45.5% from the field and 86.9% from the free-throw line.
This number may seem inflated, but I love the value given Mabrey's recent play. Not only is she ranked third in the league in scoring, but she also ranks second in the WNBA in 3-point attempts this season (188).
In fact, no player has made more 3-pointers than Marina Mabrey (76) in 2026. Not to mention, her crossover and step-backs have very much improved, and Mabrey hits shots, contested or not. That includes splitting defenders on the perimeter.
The minutes and shot volume are there for me to lock in this prop today. Logging an average of 29.2 minutes per game, Mabrey is putting up 15.7 shot attempts, 8.3 3-point attempts, and 4.5 trips to the free-throw line per game. Most impressively, she's averaging 28.3 points and 31.8 minutes played over the last seven games.
In that span, she's erupted for 53 points and three 30+ point performances. It's truly hard to fade a high-volume scorer, who's averaging 18.2 FGA and 9.2 3PA, while shooting 48.6% from the floor and 43.6% from three over the last seven games.
There's no question the Mystics are a top defensive squad, ranking No. 3 in defensive rating (102.8) per the WNBA. And over the last six games, Washington owns the WNBA's second-best defensive rating (95.3) behind Citron and Georgia Amoore in the backcourt.
However, Mabrey's been one of the few players to figure out the Mystics' defensive scheme, one that allows opponents to shoot just 32.2% from beyond the arc. She's well cleared this line, scoring 27 points in both games, including 18 fourth-quarter points in their last meeting. Despite Mabrey's late heroics with a four-point play, Toronto lost by just one point.
For my second-best bet today, I locked in Mystics guard Sonia Citron to record over 17.5 points.
Named a WNBA All-Star once again, Citron is having a career year with 18.7 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.4 SPG. There's no question her 3-point shot has dropped off some (28.4%) and her scoring has been streaky. Here's why you should bet on her points prop today.
Not only does Citron lead the Mystics in scoring, but minutes logged (34.5 MPG), by a mile. She's been the top scoring option most nights, and leads Washington with 11.7 FGA and 4.5 3PA per game. While that doesn't seem like incredible shot volume, she gets to the free-throw line 6.9 times per game.
There are occasions where Shakira Austin or Kiki Iriafen go off nightly, but I like Citron's matchup here. Back after a two-game absence with a knee injury, she's averaging 25.5 points over the last two games, which includes a 53-minute, 32-point performance in quadruple OT vs. the Fire.
The good news is that Citron isn't playing under a minutes restriction and she's scored 18+ points in four of the last five games. She's a Swiss Army Knife, a player who can drive downhill, but can also strike from the outside.
Scoring 26 and 17 points, Citron is averaging 21.5 points against the Tempo in two games, while shooting 53.6% from the field, 33.3% from three in 34.3 minutes. Today, she has a likely matchup with Marina Mabrey, Toronto is not known for its offense.
In 2026, the Tempo ranks No. 13 in defensive rating (112.1), and continue to limp into games with injured players out. We are talking about a team that gives up 92 points per game, and they've recently given up 91 and 108 points to the Liberty and Wings.
Even with Julie Allemand and Mabrey in the backcourt, I don't trust the Tempo defensively. They allow the second-most points to guards per game (43.7) and Sabrina Ionescu recently erupted for 28 points against them. Plus, there was a stretch where Kelsey Mitchell (27 points), Allisha Gray (26 points), Citron (17 points), and Natisha Hiedeman (18 points) went on a tear against Toronto.
Expect Citron to get to her spots, especially the free-throw line. Opponents get to the charity stripe 23.6 times per game against the Tempo, and this is where Citron thrives. 28% of her shots come from the restricted area, a zone where teams shoot 65% against the Tempo.
For my third-best bet, I'm taking Mystics center Shakira Austin to record 9+ rebounds today.
It's clear that head coach Sydney Johnson is committed to frontcourt duo of Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen. Despite drafting Lauren Betts No. 4 overall, Austin has logged heavy minutes as of late.
I'm avoiding her points props completely, it's too volatile for me. However, she's averaging 29 minutes on the season, and is fresh off a 27-point, five-rebound, 33-minute performance against the Seattle Storm.
At 6-foot-5, it's rare to see Austin fall below nine rebounds. In 2026, she's only done so six times. Even with Iriafen on the floor, Austin is averaging 9.1 rebounds per game, which marks a career-high.
Top seven in WNBA rebounds per game, Austin ranks among the top four in defensive rebounds per game (7.3 DRPG).
There's no question that the Mystics boast size and averaged the fourth-best rebounding percentage in the WNBA (51.6%). A top-three team on the offensive glass, Austin is a main reason why this team has been so successful in rebounding.
Nyara Sabally is back from injury, and the Tempo also have Isabelle Harrison. However, Temi Fagbenle will miss tonight's contest with a concussion. Toronto ranks last in rebounding percentage (47.1%), losing Fagbenle only further thins the frontcourt depth.
Not only did Austin record a double-double in the first two games against Toronto, but she's recorded back-to-back 11-rebound performances. Even with Sabally in the lineup on opening night, both Iriafen and Austin combined for 27 rebounds.
I like this matchup for Austin. The Mystics have the size advantage against a banged-up Tempo team. Clearing this line in five of the last six games, we've also seen Austin average 13.2 rebounds over that span. In fact, the Tempo allow the most rebounds to centers (11.7), which puts Austin in a prime position here.
