For the first matchup, the Connecticut Sun (5-21, 4-10 home) and New York Liberty (17-10, 5-7 away) will matchup again after the Sun defeated the Liberty on Friday, 78-62. New York couldn't get it done with an ailing Brenna Stewart, Nyara Sabally, and Kennedy Burke, and now gets another chance at Mohegan Sun Arena. Large 12.5-point spread favorites, the book anticipates things will go New York's way today.
In the ATL, the Atlanta Dream (17-11, 9-4 home) will host the Washington Mystics (13-14, 4-8 away). -235 moneyline favorites at home, the Dream will be without Brittney Griner for this one. However, they lead the regular-season series over the Mystics 2-1, and are fresh off two straight victories over the Mercury and Wings. The Mystics are coming off a heartbreaking 68-67 loss against the Valkyries. Without Rhyne Howard and Griner, the Dream gets a young, talented team, with rookies Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron.
Set to air on prime time television, the Indiana Fever (16-12, 7-6 away) will face the Seattle Storm (16-12, 8-6 home) in the Emerald City. Although the Fever continue to remain without Caitlin Clark due to a groin injury, they are riding a four game win streak. +115 moneyline underdogs on the road, they face Nneka Ogumike and the Storm, who are 2-3 in their last five games. With a 1-0 series lead, the Fever continue to heavily rely on Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Aari McDonald.
In the Windy City, the ailing Chicago Sky (7-20, 4-9 home) will host Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury (16-11, 7-7 away) today. 13.5-point underdogs, the Sky will continue to be without star Angel Reese, in addition to Ariel Atkins. Riding a seven game losing streak, the Sky get a Mercury team that has just one victory in the last six games. The books are predicting a favorable matchup for Phoenix on the road toady.
Last up, the Las Vegas Aces (14-14, 7and 7-5 home) will host the Golden State Valkyries (14-13, 6-9 away). Not only will former Iowa standout Kate Martin face her former team, Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase will meet again with aces head coach Becky Hammon. Favored by a 7.5-point spread, the Aces are coming off the second biggest loss in WNBA history. Defeated 111-58 by Kayla McBride and the Lynx, the Aces get a Valkyries team, who's won three straight games.

If you are looking to bet on sports and the WNBA, welcome!
With a 12-8 WNBA betting record this week, I am up three units, so let's continue to kick off August right!
Set to tip-off at 1 p.m. ET, the Liberty and Sun will square off for a back-to-back matchup in Connecticut. Beginning at 3 p.m. ET, the Mystics and Dream outing will air on ESPN 3. For the primetime showdown, the Fever and Storm will be broadcasted on ABC/ ESPN+ at 3 p.m. ET. For the evening matchups, the Mercury vs Sky and Valkyries vs Aces matchups will tip-off at 6 p.m. ET on WNBA League Pass.
In this article, you will find a mix of veteran bets, along with younger player picks. In addition, I placed all my bets separately within FanDuel Sportsbook. Looking to keep my bankroll flowing, I veered away from parlays.
Here are my top three best bets, player prop picks, and predictions for the Sunday, August 3 WNBA matchups!
GP: 24 | PPG: 12.6 | FG: 46.9 % | FT: 66.7 % | 3PT: 0 % | REB1 6.9 | AST: 1.8 | STL: 1.0 | BLK: 1.2
My first best WNBA bet for today, I placed one unit on Washington Mystics forward/center Shakira Austin to record over 7.5 rebounds against the Atlanta Dream.
Sure, the Mystics get the Dream, who are the top rebounding team in the WNBA this season (36.3 RPG). Don't let that fool you—the Mystics are a top five team on the glass (35 RPG), and have been heavily powered by both Austin and rookie Kiki Iriafen.
The Mystics have openly discussed they are looking to find a trade for forward Aaliyah Edwards, who is questionable to suit up today. Having gotten lostt in the rotation, it's clear both Austin and Iriafen are the frontcourt cornerstones for head coach Sydney Johnson and the Mystics.
Normally, this is a tougher matchup for Austin, since the Dream allow the second least points to centers, and rank fifth on the boards against them. However, Brittney Griner is out today, which gives Austin a huge advantage. With Rhyne Howard out for Atlanta, I expect them to start a smaller lineup with Jordin Canada, Maya Caldwell, Allisha Gray, Naz Hillmon, and Brionna Jones.
Averaging 6.9 rebounds on the season, I do believe the books are sleeping on Austin today. Soaring over this player prop line in three of the last four games, Austin is averaging 8.5 rebounds over that span, and averaged 7.6 boards per game in the month of July alone!
Allowing the least amount of opponent rebounds in the WNBA (32 RPG), the Dream are among the most dominant on the glass. However, Austin has cleared this line in two of three matchups against Atlanta this season. Recording seven and 10 rebounds, we can forget Austin's seven rebound performance against the Dream on June 15. Playing just 19 minutes, the Mystics were blown out 89-56 against Atlanta.
Last matchup, Austin logged a heavy 32 minutes, and recorded a double-double in the 92-91 loss against the Dream.
GP: 28 | PPG: 15.5 | FG: 54.5 % | FT: 80.2 % | 3PT: 22.7 % | REB: 8.2 | AST: 3.8 | STL: 0.9 | BLK: 1.0
My second best bet for today, I placed one unit on Indiana Fever star center Aliyah Boston to record over 12.5 rebounds and assists against the Seattle Storm.
Today features a primetime matchup against the Seattle Storm, what better way to bet on Boston!
The Fever have been able to stay afloat, winning four consecutive games without Caitlin Clark. The Fever's leading rebounder (8.2 RPG), Boston get's a tough frontcourt matchup with Nneka Ogwumike, Ezi Magbegor, and Dominique Malonga.
Even with such length and talent, the Storm rank second to last in rebounds per game (31.9 RPG). However, they do allow the second fewest rebounds to forward/centers.
Think about this player prop line for a second. Without Caitlin Clark, Boston has emerged as a legitimate playmaker for the Fever, and it all starts with the double team. Averaging 3.8 assists on the season, Boston 4.2 dimes per game alone over the last five games!
Now, if we look at the rebounding, Boston has been on a tear, averaging 8.2 rebounds this season, and 11.2 rebounds per game over the last five games. Not recording below 10 rebounds in that span, Boston can clear this line ALONE from rebounds.
Overall, the Fever have faced the Storm just once this season back in late June. Recording 31 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in 33 minutes, Caitlin Clark was active for that game. In 15 games with Clark, Boston is averaging 7.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.
I'm taking Aliyah Boston to record over 12.5 rebounds and assists today. Not only is she the only center in the WNBA with 100+ assists! Plus, she ranks No. 6 in the WNBA in rebounds per game.
The Seattle Storm's frontcourt has been unforgiving as of late. Over the last couple of games, Dearica Hamby (13), Shakira Austin (11), Kiki Iriafen (11), and Kamilla Cardoso (13) have all dominated on the glass. Now, you add in Bostons passing ability.
GP: 27 | PPG: 17 | FG: 42.8 % | FT: 78.8 % | 3PT: 40.4 % | REB: 2.8 | AST: 5.9 | STL: 1.1 | BLK: 0.8
My third best WNBA bet for today, I placed one unit on Seattle Storm All-Star Skylar Diggins to record over 20.5 points and assists against the Indiana Fever.
Coming off a birthday, I'm betting on Skylar Diggins to go nuclear today. After all, she is coming off an 18-point, six-assist performance in the 108-106 double-time loss against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Diggins has been one of the most elite guards in the WNBA this season, and has turned into quite the facilitator for the Storm. Although she's performed like that her entire career, Diggins is averaging 8.5 dimes alone over the last two games.
Now she faces a tough Fever backcourt of Kelsey Mitchell and Aari McDonald, of course without Caitlin Clark. However, in their lone matchup of the season, Diggins exploded for 22 points and six rebounds alone! It's been the Nneka Ogwumike show as of late, but I do believe Diggins has a nice primetime matchup here.
The stats say otherwise, the Fever allow the third fewest points and assists to guards. And with that, Diggins has been a bit inconsistent scoring wise, averaging just 13,8 points over the last four games.
