A finals rematch once again, the Minnesota Lynx (28-5) and the New York Liberty (21-13) will square off for the third time in nine days. Without MVP leading candidate Napheesa Collier, the Lynx are on a roll! Riding a six-game winning streak, not only is Minnesota 9-1 in the last 10 games, but they are 3-0 against the Liberty this season.
Tabbed as 3.5-point spread and -145 moneyline favorites at home, the Liberty continue to remain without Breanna Stewart, Nyara Sabally, and Isabelle Harison due to injuries. Tonight is a crucial matchup, as the Liberty have dropped three of the last four matchups.
Next up, Sonia Citron and the Washington Mystics (16-18) will host Marina Mabrey and the Connecticut Sun (6-27) in the Nation's Capital. 5.5-point spread favorites at home, the Mystics remain just a half game back of the Seattle Storm for the eighth seed. Despite trading away key players such as Brittney Sykes and Aaliyah Edwards, the Mystics continue to hang on!
Winners of three of the last four games, the Mystics get a struggling Sun team, who have just one victory in their last seven games.
Angel Reese is questionable for the Chicago Sky (8-25), who will host the Seattle Storm (17-18) in the Windy City. Massive +475 moneyline underdogs at home, the Sky are riding a four game losing streak, and are nearly out of playoff contention. Barely holding onto the eighth and final playoff seed, this is a crucial game for the Storm. 2-8 in their last 10 games, time is ticking for Noelle Quinn and the Storm.
There's another highly anticipated matchup today that will feature the Atlanta Dream (22-12) and the Las Vegas Aces (21-14). Highlighting MVP candidates A'ja Wilson and Allisha Gray, the books are expecting a close matchup tonight. Slim 2.5-point favorites, the Dream hold a one game lead over the Liberty for the No.2 seed. Things are trending upward for the Aces, who are riding a seven game win streak. The stakes are high for both teams, and the Aces are just a half game back from taking the No. 3 seed from New York.
Last, Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury (20-13) will square off against the Golden State Valkyries (18-16). A high stakes matchup for both teams, the Mercury are tied with the Aces for the No. 4 seed. Exceeding expectations in their inaugural season, the Valkyries have firm 1.5 game lead over the Storm for the No. 7 spot.-286 moneyline favorites on the road, Phoenix is 2-0 against Golden State this year.
Both games are extremely crucial, as the Minnesota Lynx clinched a playoff spot, and the Liberty fell to the No. 3 seed.

In this article, you will find my three best player prop bets, predictions, and picks for the August 19 WNBA matchups! If you're tailing my bets, I did not parlay my picks, and placed them separately within FanDuel and DraftKings Sportsbook.
Let's have a day!
Are you looking to bet on WNBA player props all season long? Here at Ballislife Bets, we've gathered a complete list of the best sports betting offers here.
GP: 33 | PPG: 9.9 | FG: 43.2 % | FT: 90.7 % | 3PT: 33.1 % | REB: 3.7 | AST: 5.5 | STL: 1.2 | BLK: 0.3
My first best bet for today, I placed one unit on New York Liberty guard Natasha Cloud to record over 14.5 points and assists against the Minnesota Lynx.
In her first season with the Liberty, Cloud has been fairly consistent, averaging anywhere from 10-14 points and 4-6 assists per game this month. With that said, the New York Liberty are looking to avoid a regular season sweep. Especially against the Lynx, who they defeated in the 2024 WNBA Finals.
If the Liberty are going to win this matchup, it's going to come off either free-throws or tough buckets. The Lynx clamped down the Liberty in the first half, and it was Cloud who established an early high-low game with Jonquel Jones last matchup.
Although Cloud smoked a late layup, she's going to continue to push the pace and attack downhill. Creating size advantages off pick-and-rolls, Napheesa Collier's absence will remain huge for New York. However, that's not to say Alanna Smith and Jessica Shepard won't take care of business.
Aside from Ionescu, Cloud is New York's primary ball-handler, and often makes the tough drives in order to stay in games. A 33.1 percent 3-point shooter, Cloud won't get many outside looks with Minnesota's stifling perimeter defense. With that, Sabrina Ionescu is in a massive shooting slump, going just 5-16 and 2-7 from three for 13 points in their last matchup.
I love this player prop from a points perspective alone, given New York's excessive length slows them down. Aside from Ionescu, Cloud gives New York much needed speed to push the pace in transition or on the fast break.
This is a tough matchup for Cloud, the Lynx allow the fewest points and second fewest assists to guards. However, this is an extremely high stakes matchup.
Although with other teams, Cloud historically has performed well, soaring over this player prop line in 14 of the last 15 matchups against Minnesota. Better yet, she's cleared this line in eight straight head-to-head outings, and three times this season.
In three regular season matchups against Minnesota, Cloud is averaging 12 points and 6.0 assists in 30.2 minutes. Shooting 48.3 percent from the field on 9.7 FGA, Cloud should see decent minutes with just nine active roster members.
Scoring 10+ points in all three matchups, Cloud is coming off a 10-point, six-assist performance against the Lynx on August 16.
GP: 31 | PPG: 18.4 | FG: 44.8 % | FT: 79.6 % | 3PT: 39.4 % | REB: 5.5 | AST: 3.8 | STL: 1.1 | BLK: 0.4
My second best bet for today, I placed one unit on Atlanta Dream star Allisha Gray to record over 19.5 points and assists against the Las Vegas Aces.
Let's face it. Gray is having a career-year under first year head coach Karl Smesko in Atlanta, and she remains in possible MVP conversations. Now that Jordin Canada will be sidelined for a few weeks due to injury, Gray's role will only increase.
Aforementioned, this is a critical matchup for both teams. The Dream have a one game lead for the No.2. seed, and the Aces have slowly worked their way up. This game is crucial for the standings.
Soaring over this prop line in three of the last five games, Gray is coming off some brutal shooting performances. Even so, she's managed to total 17 and 16 points and assists against the Valkyries and Storm. Mind you, Gray is shooting just 7-25 (28.%) over the last two games.
The Aces have improved on the defensive end, surging to No. 5 in defensive rating (104) over their seven game win streak. However, this is a great matchup for Gray, given the Aces give up the eighth most points, and second most assist to guards.
Gray will continue to carve out a bigger role without Canada, and is averaging a robust 19.3 points and 4.4 assists in 11 games without her this season.
Notorious for her 3-level scoring capabilities and that left shot, Gray recorded 24 points and eight assists in her lone matchup against the Aces on July 22. Logging 36 minutes, she shot 7-16 from the floor, 3-5 from deep, and 4-6 from the charity stripe.
Not only are both teams battling, Gray will compete against best friends, and former South Carolina Gamecock teammate, A'ja Wilson.
Prior to her current shooting slump, Gray was on an absolute tear to start the month. Through the first five games in August, she averaged 22.5 points, and scored 22+ points in four of those. In addition, Gray shot 59.5 percent from the field, and 51 percent from three.
We are talking about a player that's averaging a career-best 18.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Not to mention, Gray is shooting nearly 40 percent from three!
GP: 28 | PPG: 16.2 | FG: 53.9 % | FT: 70.9 % | 3PT: 0 % | REB: 8.6 | AST: 9.1 | STL: 1.7 | BLK: 0.5
My third best bet for today, I placed one unit on Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas to record over 32.5 points, rebound, and assists against the Golden State Valkyries.
Inserting herself back in the MVP conversation, Thomas is the ONLY player in WNBA history to record 5+ triple-doubles over multiple seasons! Known as the "engine," Thomas has been a triple-double machine. She's performed to this level her entire career, and has been often overlooked.
The WNBA's official assist leader (9.1 APG), Thomas is also the league's third leading rebounder (8.6). Nearly averaging a triple-double per game, Thomas has been on an absolute tear.
Coming off another triple-double, Thomas erupted for 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists against the Seattle Storm on Sunday. Not to mention, her numbers have soared since the All-Star break. In 11 games since, Thomas has been lights out, averaging 17.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.
After an incredible July, Thomas is averaging 33.6 points, rebounds, and assists in August, and get's a fairly decent matchup today with Golden State.
Yes, the Valkyries are a gritty team, and rank No. 4 in defensive rating. Plus, they are in the thick of playoff contention. However, can anyone on this team truly stop Thomas? They will be missing Kayla Thornton (OFS), Monique Billings, and Iliana Rupert, who are all out with injury.
Although Thomas has faced Golden State just once this year, she erupted for 17 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds. Thanks to her last second free-throw, Thomas helped the Mercury secure a 78-77 barnburner over the Valkyries.
Overall, the Valkyries allow the first, third, and fourth fewest points, rebounds, and assists to guards. However, Thomas plays an unconventional point forward role. Am I really going to fade a player who's shooting 55.8 percent from the field in August? Plus, her free-throw percentage surged to 78.6 percent this month.
Thomas has elite shooters in DeWanna Bonner, Sami Whitcomb, and Satou Sabally, I'm not worried about a points or assist perspective. Plus their interior defensive isn't as strong without Billings and Thornton.
