College Football is finally here and we are kicking off with a great slate of games this Saturday, August 31st. With a ton of games on the slate, there is a lot of money to be made to start the new season. With that said, let's take a look at the best prop bets for College Football Week 1 that will put money into your pockets.
Best Prop Odds: Ricky White III Over 89+ Receiving Yards (-130) DraftKings Sportsbook
Ricky White III comes into his senior year off a great junior season with the UNLV Rebels where he had 1,483 yards and 8 touchdowns on 88 receptions.
While Houston boasts an improved defense, White is matchup-proof and has the means to go off regardless of the defensive scheme he's up against.
Last season he had six games with 150+ yards and as he looks to improve on last season, he should come out of the gate hot as UNLV and Houston go blow for blow in their season opener as White eclipses this 89+ receiving mark.
Best Prop Odds: Phil Mafah Under 71.5 Rushing Yards (-114) FanDuel Sportsbook
Phil Mafah was a big part of this Clemson offense as the year went on last season after just being a part-time starter in the first half of the season. After taking over as the full-time starter he eclipsed this mark in all but one game last season however, none of those defenses were the caliber of the Georgia Bulldogs who he is up against to start the new season.
Also, Clemson will be playing catch-up for the majority of the game which will result in a negative game script, which means less running and more passing to get back into the game. Expect Mafah to have fewer opportunities as Clemson has to put up points in bunches to stay in this game as he stays under the 71.5 rushing yards total.
Best Prop Odds: Nicholas Singleton 60+ Rushing Yards (-110) DraftKings Sportsbook
The Penn State Nittany Lions boasted one of the best running back tandems in the league last season but didn't get the production they should have gotten thanks to bad play-calling by their former offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.
Singleton had a great freshman year reaching 941 yards on the ground, he took a bit of a step back as did most of the offense the next season finishing with just 752 yards. With Kotelnicki calling the plays, the Nittany Lions should lean on their running game to open the season and Singleton should be at the forefront.
Going against a subpar defense in the West Virginia Mountaineers, this should be a prime matchup for Singleton to make a statement early in the season as he eclipses the 60+ rushing total in Week 1.
