With the upcoming betParx Pennsylvania Derby and Cotillion Day weekend highlighting the racing calendar on Sept. 19-20 at Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pa., one company on Tuesday introduced a whole new way to experience the sport.
Virtually Human Studio (VHS) announced the launch of ZED Picks, a mobile-first digital horse racing game that operates as a sweepstakes-based skill game, meaning players can participate without paying by using ZCoin earned through daily logins, referral bonuses, and promotions. No purchase is required to win.

With races running automatically every 80 seconds, 24/7 and powered by the real on-chain racing game - ZED Champions - players select one to four horses per race, with winning tickets determined when all chosen horses finish within the top four positions. Each horse is unique, with a comprehensive set of traits and stats that include bloodline, performance history, win streaks, and more.
“ZED Picks is about meeting players where they are, on mobile, in short sessions, with real racing data powering every pick,” said Nir Efrat, CEO of VHS. “We’ve developed a simplified pick-and-play experience focused on strategy.
This is a natural evolution of the ZED ecosystem, expanding into accessible, prediction-based formats built for all people, from sports fans to game enthusiasts, to interact with Web3 gameplay.”
Players can study patterns and track horse performance to refine their picks, elevating the game from pure chance to a skill-based, strategy-driven challenge. This combination of data-driven analysis and fast-paced gameplay makes every race engaging for both casual and competitive players.
“ZED Picks brings the bond between players and horses into an entirely new digital era,” said Ryan Trost, Chief of Staff at Virtually Human Studio. “Each horse is owned by a player, making it truly one-of-a-kind, with unique traits and histories that directly influence race outcomes. By pairing that depth with fast, prediction-based gameplay, we’ve created an experience that resonates with sports bettors while offering something fresh and dynamic to the digital space.”
“ZED Picks was built entirely around what our players told us they wanted — faster gameplay, meaningful rewards, and an experience that feels exciting every time you log in,” said Ian Peacock, Head of Players at VHS. “We’ve transformed that feedback into a brand-new format that’s simple to jump into, yet rich with the depth and strategy that define the ZED ecosystem. It’s a game designed not just to play, but to keep fans coming back race after race.”
ZED Picks is now available on iOS and Android in most U.S. states except for Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington.
