That sound you started hearing last week was a "CRACK," as in the crack of the bat. Baseball season is here, and this week you'll begin to see a full slate of games regularly. That means 15 games many days, as all 30 MLB teams compete.
The competition has a purpose: division titles, pennants, and ultimately, the World Series title. Last season, the Dodgers took the trophy, but this year many teams are aiming to topple the Big Blue Wrecking Crew.
FanDuel now has several regional sports networks under its brand, offering many baseball games to local fans across the country. But FanDuel also has a top-rated sports betting app with odds on MLB.
We did a deep dive into MLB Futures Odds this week so you don't have to. Here are the best odds and the best opportunities for baseball futures bets this season.
Team | Odds |
---|---|
LA Dodgers | -800 |
Chicago Cubs | +100 |
NY Yankees | +105 |
Philadelphia Phillies | +115 |
Houston Astros | +160 |
Texas Rangers | +175 |
NY Mets | +185 |
Detroit Tigers | +230 |
Kansas City Royals | +240 |
We expect the Dodgers, like everyone else, to run away with the NL West. The Padres will be a very good team in 2025, and the Diamondbacks are also a dangerous team.
Still, the Dodgers should get 95 wins, enough to capture another NL West crown.
The AL Central and NL Central will be the most intriguing division races. Milwaukee usually rises to the top in the NL Central, and we suspect they will be in the hunt again.
In the AL Central, Detroit is overrated, and Cleveland is underrated. The Royals are the one team in the division that could run away with it, but we suspect they won't: the young pitching is still unproven.
The Yankees could win 105 games in the regular season and still be underdogs in a short playoff series.
No...the Yankee defense would have to IMPROVE to be atrocious. Atrocious would be an improvement. And this just in" catching the baseball is an important part of the game.
Team | Odds |
---|---|
LA Dodgers | +135 |
NY Yankees | +350 |
Atlanta Braves | +550 |
Philadelphia Phillies | +600 |
NY Mets | +700 |
Baltimore Orioles | +700 |
Boston Red Sox | +750 |
Houston Astros | +850 |
Texas Rangers | +850 |
We like the Mets at +700 to win the NL flag. This team just feels like a club that has the leadership, talent, and depth to get to the postseason, and win tough October playoff series.
It doesn't matter if you win 88 games or 106 games: as long as you get to the postseason, you have chance to be champions.
Team | Odds |
---|---|
LA Dodgers | +240 |
NY Yankees | +800 |
Atlanta Braves | +850 |
Philadelphia Phillies | +1000 |
NY Mets | +1100 |
Baltimore Orioles | +1600 |
Boston Red Sox | +1800 |
Houston Astros | +1800 |
Texas Rangers | +1900 |
No surprise: FanDuel and the oddsmakers in Las Vegas love the two defending league champions. We think the Braves are being overstated here.
We think they should be more like +1500 to win the Fall Classic.
Lost in the hype of the Yankees is the fact that New York has a bad defense and a suspect starting rotation. They will have enough firepower at the plate to win 88-92 games, and make the playoffs.
The Orioles have two of the best all-around players in the league in Gunnar Henderson and Jackson Holliday.
They have baseball's best catcher in Adley Rutschman. The pitching is deeper and better than the Bombers have, and on par with Boston.
A winning $100 bet on the O's to take the AL East would win you $280.
The AL Central produced three playoff teams in 2025. The Guardians were the most mature and well-balanced of that trio, and remain so.
It went under the radar in light of the big free agent signings last season elsewhere, but the G's got better when they added first baseman Carlos Santana and his Gold Glove.
Not to mention his power bat. The Guardians have the best pitching staff in their division (by far). This is a team, led by underrated Jose Ramirez, that could run away with this division.
The Diamondbacks have the best defense in baseball. They have one of the best base running teams in the game.
Last season their bullpen ranked 4th in MLB in WHIP and FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching). That means the Arizona bullpen was one of the best at getting outs and limiting base runners.
All the Snakes need to do is win about 85-90 games, sneak into the postseason, and their advantages on the edges of the game could be the difference in eliminating the mighty Dodgers.
How irritated do you think Yankee fans would be if Juan Soto won a ring with the Mets?
