They now head to Kansas City to take on the surging Royals as the Yankees look to stay at the top by taking this road series.

The Yankees bats who were red-hot coming into their home matchup over this past weekend were stifled against the pitching of the Dodgers.

Kansas City Royals (39-27) finished their series with the AL West-leading Seattle Mariners taking two of three after some 10th-inning heroics from the Mariners avenged their two losses in the series.

The Royals were looking to make up some ground on the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians but after their loss to the Mariners, they sit in second place four games behind the top spot.

On Monday night, the Royals welcome the first-place New York Yankees to town in hopes of getting back on track in this series. The Royals will be sending their ace Seth Lugo to the mound who's been sensational this season.
