Week 3 is already here and it feels like the new season just started.
Heading into Sunday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs are still undefeated winning both of their first two games of the season against the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals.
We can expect some points to be put on the board in this game, so let's take a look at the player props in this Sunday Night Football matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons.
Kirk Cousins is finally back and looking like his old self before the Achilles Heel injury he sustained last season. After a rough first game of the season against the Steelers he got back on track in a big way coming away with the 22-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. After a subpar first half, Cousins turned it up in the second half of that game.
While the Chiefs' defense has been stout so far this season, Cousins playing at home and finally syncing with his new teammates this could be his breakout performance in his new uniform. Look for Cousins to light up this Chiefs' secondary as surpasses this 1.5 touchdown mark on Sunday night.
Everyone has been waiting for that breakout performance from Kyle Pitts and it has yet to happen. However, this could be the game where he can finally flex on the defense and show what his capabilities really are against the Kansas City Chiefs.
We know that the Falcons are trying to get Pitts more involved in the offense than he has been in years past but going against two stout defenses like the Eagles and Steelers didn't do him any favors. However, now getting a very favorable matchup at home he has the chance to show out.
His frame (6'6") and exceptional speed (4.44 40-yard dash) make him a dangerous red zone threat. He should be targeted a ton in this matchup from Kirk Cousins as they look to score the upset in this Sunday Night Football matchup.
Carson Steele now has his chance to run away with the starting job after Isiah Pacheco suffered an injury in last week's win against Cincinnati. He has a prime matchup against the Falcons who have the 5th worst rushing defense in the league through 2 weeks.
This could be a game where they lean on the run to open up the passing game for Patrick Mahomes and his weapons Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce. Don't expect a primetime game shootout between these two as both teams have been more prevalent leaning on the run and more will happen in this game as well.
Look for Steele to have himself a breakout performance putting himself on the map and running away with this opportunity on Sunday night.
