At the time of writing, many of the sportsbooks are leaning towards Houston to win this year’s edition of March Madness. Their price has only shortened across the past couple of days and early progress will only see further movement towards minus odds.
While if it is not to be Houston who comes out on top this year, then Alabama is certainly capable of achieving such success. Of course, the same could be said for the trio of Purdue, UCLA, and Kansas.
Then again, Gonzaga cannot be subtracted from the equation either. They currently sit at the top of the West Coast standings and their recent form will have many rival colleges feeling rather nervous.
Although Gonzaga is not in the top five when it comes to current sportsbook odds, They are not all that far away either and with their recent record in this tournament carrying a considerable amount of weight, it may lead them deep into the bracket.
The question is whether the Bulldogs can find the bite they require when it really matters. The bite that is needed in the final. The bite that was missing in both the 2017 and 2021 finals and you do wonder if this is something that is weighing on their shoulders.
If Gonzaga can put those memories behind them, they have every chance of making an impact in this year’s March Madness tournament.
