A Super Bowl rematch always carries with it great anticipation, and the wait for Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles has been an incredibly long one.
One man who will step into the spotlight once again is Patrick Mahomes, taking part in his fifth Super Bowl and looking for a fourth ring in the process. His playoff track record is unmatched, and we'll comb through his game logs to find the best Mahomes Super Bowl props for Chiefs vs. Eagles on February 9.
From his prolific running ability in big games, to his tendency to throw the ball, we can take what we're seeing from an elite Eagles defense and use it to our advantage in this one.
I'll cover below why Mahomes is ripe to run the ball against a strong pass rush, and why he may put himself in danger of a turnover with the volume of passing attempts he's going to have to come up with.
Without further ado, let's break down some Super Bowl LIX Player Props as we highlight Patrick Mahomes.
The books seem to have nailed this market, considering Mahomes has averaged around 29 yards per game in his 20 postseason games, but coming off a 43-yard rushing performance against the Buffalo Bills I think it's once again time to back the legs of the superstar quarterback.
The Eagles, sitting second in the league with 184.9 yards allowed per game and third in completion percentage, have allowed over four rushing attempts per game to opposing quarterbacks this season -- including the playoffs.
These signalcallers have turned around and rushed for five yards per carry, and just last week Jayden Daniels went for 48 yards on six carries.
Five quarterbacks have eclipsed this mark in 21 games, but nine have rushed five or more times. Mahomes is incredible at gaining chunks of yards when he does run, and the numbers would indicate he will take the ball himself plenty of times to sneak over this number.
The Super Bowl has been an interesting stage for Mahomes in his career. He played one of the games of his career last season against the San Francisco 49ers, throwing for 333 yards, but he was picked once.
Philly looks incredible in that regard right now, picking off a pass in five of its last six and coming up with a total of nine over that span. It's sitting ninth in interception rate to boot, and on top of it all opponents are throwing 33.4 times per game which is one of the highest marks in the league.
Mahomes should be forced to air it out all game, and in turn he should encounter some resistance at least once.
