UFC Vegas 94 is on tap this weekend at the UFC Apex with a strawweight headliner worth watching out for as Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba look to make a statement and put their name in the title mix with a win this weekend.
We take a look at the best bets for this stacked UFC fight night UFC Vegas 94 event this weekend, July 20th.
Best Odds: Amanda Lemos (+114) FanDuel Sportsbook
Amanda Lemos once a former title challenger is now just 1-1 over her last two fights. Most recently she is coming off a dominant decision victory against another high-level submission grappler Mackenzie Dern.
Now, Lemos will be taking on another submission ace Virna Jandiroba in hopes of getting back into title contention. As this matchup goes, this should be a bit reminiscent of her fight with Mackenzie Dern where Lemos will undoubtedly be the better striker on the feet and it will come down to not letting Jandiroba take her to the mat.
While Jandiroba isn't a terrible striker by any means, the longer the fight stays on the feet the worse it will be for her. Jandiroba knows the game plan is to get in there take Lemos down and submit her and Lemos knows too well that's what she will try to do.
Lemos will be well-equipped to combat that and will look to sprawl and brawl in this fight. As long as Lemos can avoid the takedowns and keep this fight on the feet she can go in there and get the job done and make it two wins in a row.
Best Odds: Loik Radzhabov (-115) BetMGM Sportsbook
Loik Radzhabov has had a long MMA career before coming into his UFC debut giving him a ton of experience that many don't have when they first start to make a name for themselves. In his debut fight, Radzhabov was able to outgrapple Esteban Ribovics en route to a decision victory but he has now gone just 1-1 over his last two fights most recently getting the third-round knockout against Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady.
Now, Radzhabov will be looking to extend his winning streak to two as he takes on Trey Ogden. Ogden has looked good during his time in the UFC and is coming off a dominant decision victory over Kurt Holobaugh who he smothered with his dominant ground game to get the win.
In this matchup, it will be up to Radzhabov to do what he does which is come forward throw heavy strikes, and mix in the takedowns with some heavy ground and pound. If he's able to execute that gameplan while not gassing out in the process and not letting Ogden dictate where the fight takes place he can get his second win in a row and keep moving up the rankings.
Best Odds: Kaynan Kruschewsky (-130) DraftKings Sportsbook
Kaynan Kruchewsky had a dominant win in his Contender Series fight to get himself a contract but it was short-lived when he took a fight on short notice up a weight class against Elves Brener who brutally knocked him out in round one. Now, he gets to right his wrong and get his first win inside the Octagon when he takes on former TUF winner Kurt Holobaugh.
Kurt Holobaugh got back to the UFC after becoming the TUF winner with a triangle choke of Austin Hubbard in the finale. Unfortunately, his UFC debut didn't go quite as well as he was dominated by Trey Ogden who's also on this card en route to a decision loss.
Kruschewsky has the means to get the job done this weekend by being the aggressor and landing some heavy combinations on Holobaugh who doesn't move his head a whole lot while in the pocket. Also, Kruschewsky can certainly land some takedowns and get quality top-control time in a fight that could be close throughout.
It will be up to Kruschewsky to have the cardio to push a hard pace, one that Holobaugh is able to keep up with overtime and mix in the strikes and takedowns to get ahead on the scorecards. As long as he is the busier fighter and doesn't gas he should get the job done and finally get his first win inside the Octagon.
