With both featuring numerous games and sports leagues, stellar customer support, and designs that make you want to keep coming back, there are plenty of good things to say about both sites, but also a few not-so-good things.

Here are a few benefits and drawbacks we observed from playing and betting on FanDuel and Casumo during our research for this guide:

Pros and Cons
Pros and Cons
  • Intuitive and logical designs
  • Thousands of casino games
  • Excellent sports coverage
  • Limited payment options

FanDuel vs Casumo – How do the games compare?

Both FanDuel and Casumo offer an excellent game library that features all you need from an online casino and sportsbook. FanDuel is objectively superior, offering over 3,300 casino games compared to Casumo’s 2,000+. In terms of quality and variety, however, it’s a closer race, with both sites offering an assortment of slots, table games, and live dealer titles.

As you’d expect, slots make up the bulk of the casino games on both sites, each featuring thousands of slot games from top providers. FanDuel exclusively hosts the Huff N’ More Puff family of slots, among numerous other titles from providers like Microgaming, Playtech, NetEnt, IGT, and Pragmatic Play. During our testing, we tried Sweet Rush Bonanza, the Racaroon, and 3 Magic Eggs.

It’s a similar experience on Casumo, as we also found thousands of slot games from providers like Pragmatic Play, RubyPlay, Hacksaw Gaming, Playtech, and Gold Coin Studios. To test the slots experience on Casumo, we tried Sweet Rush Bonanza, Finger Lick N’ Spins, Wolf Gold, and the classic Gates of Olympus 1000.

Besides slots, FanDuel and Casumo also featured live casino sections with live dealer versions of popular table games such as baccarat, roulette, poker, and blackjack. If you’d rather not interact with a live dealer, both sites also feature table games, completing a varied online casino catalogue for even the wildest enthusiasts.

FanDuel vs Casumo online sportsbook

FanDuel features a sportsbook section with every popular sport and sports league in Canada, from the National Hockey League (NHL) to the National Football League (NFL). We also found numerous lower leagues across even the most obscure sports, with FanDuel featuring Snooker, Rugby League, Handball, Lacrosse, Aussie Rules, and Motorsport, among others.

Casumo boasts a similar sportsbook category, but its depth hardly matches that of FanDuel’s, considering the latter is a sports-focused site from the get-go. If you’re more interested in sports popular in North America, like basketball or football (not soccer), you’re better off with FanDuel. On the other hand, Casumo has a healthier selection of obscure soccer leagues and other niche sports.

Esports bettors will likely enjoy Casumo more, as its online sportsbook offers esports titles such as Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant. On the other hand, you may find e-football or e-basketball on FanDuel. However, those are usually virtual, computer-simulated games, which are quite different from the video game-based esports titles you may be expecting.

FanDuel and Casumo feature intuitive websites and mobile apps

FanDuel and Casumo take different approaches to usability, but both offer intuitive, logical interfaces for players and bettors alike. The colour schemes look similar, but FanDuel uses a blue-purple gradient in contrast with Casumo’s mostly purple design.

Casumo’s homepage and lobby design look less cluttered than FanDuel’s. However, the abundance of menus, options, and icons on the latter makes it easy to jump around critical sections of the site. For example, FanDuel has tabs to switch between the casino and sportsbook sections of its site, a feature we couldn’t locate on Casumo.

You’ll notice this pattern as you visit more pages on both sites. FanDuel, on the one hand, focuses on maximizing space by cramming as much information into the tiniest spaces. On the other hand, Casumo seems to be more reserved, prioritizing aesthetics over information density. There’s no objectively better or worse design; we recommend trying both to see what works best for you.

Both sites have decent mobile apps for both casino and sportsbook, and the mobile experiences mimic the desktop interfaces brilliantly. You’ll find fewer differences between the mobile apps for Casumo Ontario and FanDuel Ontario, as the smaller screen forces some aesthetic similarities, such as collapsible sidebars and a specific game layout. Nonetheless, you’ll notice the DNAs of Casumo and FanDuel in their respective apps when you use them consistently.

Get a convenient payment experience on FanDuel and Casumo in Ontario

Casumo supports deposits and withdrawals through various payment methods. You can fund your account through bank deposits, Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, MuchBetter, and Interac, and all deposits show in your balance instantly. Casumo doesn’t charge a fee on deposits, but your payment processor may levy a negligible processing fee per transaction.

Players and bettors can withdraw to their bank or MuchBetter accounts on the FanDuel app in Ontario, provided they’ve hit the $20 minimum withdrawal threshold on their account. MuchBetter withdrawals process instantly, but bank transfers can take up to five days to land in your balance after approval. Casumo operates a closed payment system, so you can only withdraw using the same method you used for your last deposit.

FanDuel operates similarly in payments, accepting direct online bank deposits, Interac, PayPal, credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay. Like Casumo, FanDuel also operates a closed payment system, so you can only withdraw funds through the same payment method you used for your last deposit.

Speaking of withdrawals, you can withdraw funds using most of the FanDuel payment methods in Ontario, including Interac and credit cards. There’s slightly more payment flexibility on FanDuel, but you’ll hardly find anyone complaining about depositing or withdrawing funds from either Casumo or FanDuel.

Here’s an illustration of the available payment methods on Casumo and FanDuel:

MuchBetter No Yes
Apple Pay Yes No
Bank Transfer Yes Yes

FanDuel and Casumo offer 24/7 multi-channel customer support

Both sites offer a respectable customer support experience, which you’d naturally expect from an online casino and sportsbook in Ontario. For Casumo, players and bettors get three support options: FAQ, Live Chat, and Email. The FAQ channel simply lists popular questions from other players and bettors, and provides in-depth answers, helping you find quick answers to any queries and use the site more easily.

Similarly, FanDuel Casino and Sportsbook’s Help page offers live chat, email, and a dedicated FAQs page, which were sufficient for our customer support needs during our testing. It also promotes contacting its agents through its social media pages, an option Facebook and X enthusiasts will find very convenient.

Both live chat options work similarly well, but FanDuel indicates its agents’ active status, which we found helpful during our testing of the site. Casumo’s FAQ section, on the other hand, looks more detailed and easier to browse than FanDuel’s, but we found no major flaws in either site's customer service section.

Conclusion – FanDuel vs Casumo: what players and bettors in Ontario should choose

FanDuel and Casumo are both excellent online casino and sportsbook sites in Ontario, thanks to various casino games, numerous betting markets on the most popular sports, and responsive, round-the-clock customer support.

The payment experience on both sites leaves nothing to be desired, as both sites support the most popular payment methods in Canada. Players and bettors enjoy a low $20 minimum withdrawal, which you can receive instantly if you use quick withdrawal methods.
