NBA betting continues as the Toronto Raptors will host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, March 22nd in this Eastern Conference matchup at Scotiabank Arena. Toronto has a home win streak on the line and the Indiana Pacers coming limping in from across the border. Is this easy money tonight?
The Indiana Pacers have been a tale of two different teams this year. One with their young All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, which has been competitive against any team. The other is without their All-Star, which has been able to end the losing streak of the Detroit Pistons and can barely score 100 points. It is that simple. The Pacers are almost impossible to trust without Tyrese. So what does that mean tonight? Well, Tyrese and Chris Duarte are doubtful and I do not expect them to play. So others are going to have to step up in a big way then.
Who could that be? Well, the most obvious answer is Myles Turner. He led the scoring attack in a losing effort against the Charlotte Hornets. Another is Buddy Hield. If I don't like my chances of Indiana winning or covering then I would be interested in laying down some statistical bets with those two players in mind. It could be a long night in the north.
That has been the mantra for the Toronto Raptors for a while now. In recent form, they have defended the north. Defended it handily even. The last three home wins have been by at minimum 15 points in the Raptors' favor. Toronto has a decent cushion in the play in tournament standings but still could help its cause with wins over clearly inferior opponents this late in the season.
Look for Fred VanVleet to put on a big show against the Pacers. He always has performed well against them and the Raptors are scoring 120 plus at home. I think he has a huge game tonight. Also, the Canadian Jedi, O.G. Anunoby, should be poised to disrupt Indiana’s offense with his length and rack up the steals. The Raptors should be feasting this evening.
Surprisingly, the Indiana Pacers have won the first two games of this three-game series. However, both were played in the friendly confines of Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana. Now the Pacers travel up north and play at a place that has been very tough to play historically for Indiana.
In this matchup, I’m taking the Raptors to cover the 8 points. No Haliburton (projected) then no chance for Indiana. Toronto has handled more recent competition by double this margin. I expect the Raptors to do the same tonight by around 10 points. Give me the Raptors to cover.
The over under is sitting at 234 currently. I don’t think with the Pacers missing weapons that they can keep their end of that scoring up. I would take the under if taking a swing at either one of these. If the Pacers were healthy I take my chance but I do not seeing Tyrese Haliburton playing.
