NBA betting continues as the Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, March 14th in this Eastern Conference versus Western Conference matchup at Paycom Center. This will be the finale of a two-game series. The Nets will try to split it one game apiece while being on the road.
The NBA world wondered how fast the Nets record would plummet after stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant made their way out west. To the surprise of many, including myself, the newly revamped Nets have played some really good basketball. They enter into this contest winning 4 of their last 5 with the only blemish being a 5-point loss on the road to the Bucks. That is pretty impressive.
The Nets are led by new addition Mikal Bridges and young prospect center Nic Claxton. These will be the building pieces the Nets focus on moving forward and have leaned upon as of late. Add in a mix of some quality shooting role players and you have a solid team. Is it good enough for a postseason run? That is a different question for a different time, but it is most certainly capable of winning tonight in OKC.
The Nets are playing well and are young. I hear ya, but these young Thunder players are playing well too. One could wonder what they may even look like with lottery pick Chet Holmgren on this squad. The future looks bright and the present isn’t too shabby either. Like the Nets, The Thunder have won 4 of their last 5 as well. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is battling an abdominal injury. He didn’t play the back end of a back-to-back, but I am expecting him to suit up tonight.
Despite not having their star guard, the Thunder leaned upon Josh “make my heart” Giddey and Jalen Williams to get the win against the Spurs. Sorry, I don’t have a terrible nickname for him yet for Jalen yet. Both were close to getting triple-doubles and they'll have to match that effort if they want to come away with a victory tonight. Especially, if Shai is unable to play.
The Nets and Thunder have played each other one time this year. That was in January when the Thunder left Brooklyn with a win on the road. The Nets are a much different team now so throw that out the window. I think tonight is an absolute toss up.

In this matchup, I’m taking the Nets to cover the 2 points. I think this game has a chance to come down to the last shot and in that scenario, I’ll take the points given. If SGA is out, this line will move in favor of Brooklyn so if you want to take that risk, bet it early.
The over under is sitting at 231.5. That seems pretty low considering most of the games recently have been hovering around the 240’s at times. I’ll take the over in that case. I think scoring is going to happen in bunches in this one. Should be a great game.
