The two best teams will face off in Super Bowl LVII, as both number-one seeds find themselves in the ultimate game. These two teams are led by electric quarterbacks who can make plays that no other quarterbacks can make. Both Quarterbacks have injury concerns and neither will be at 100 per cent.
They both showed in their respective championship games that they can get it done even when hurt. The Eagles are a physical smash-mouth team that gets it done in the trenches. The Chiefs need a big game from Patrick Mahomes if they are to win.
The Chiefs had a lot of questions surrounding them after last year's AFC Championship game loss and then losing Tyreek Hill. Those questions were answered quickly as Patrick Mahomes has his best season even without Hill. Mahomes played a more ball-control game and stopped forcing as many throws as he had in the past. The defense has been solid, but questions remain about their secondary and run defense.
Chris Jones and Frank Clark on the defensive line may be their two best players and for the Chiefs to win this game they will both have to have a major impact in this game. The Chiefs have been here three times in the last four years which will give them a huge advantage when it comes to familiarity with playing in the big game.
The Eagles ran away with the NFC this season and really have no major weaknesses on their team. Questions about Jalen Hurts' shoulder are the prevailing concern when talking about the Eagles. The Eagles' run game sets up the play action and RPO passing offense and Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell will need to have big games for Jalen Hurts to have success passing.
The Eagles' offensive line is the best in the NFL and it gives the Eagles a huge advantage as does their defensive line which has been the best in the NFL this season as well. My main question is about the competition the Eagles played in the NFC. Has any team ever had an easier playoff run than the Eagles? They blew out a limited Giants team and then beat a 49ers team that had to play the second half with a quarterback that could not throw.
The Philadelphia Eagles are 4-5 all-time against the Kansas City Chiefs. The last of these meetings was a 42-30 victory by Kansas City in October of 2021. I do not think that there is much to be learned from last years game between these two as both teams are dramatically different coming into this matchup.

This looks to be a great game that should be decided in the fourth quarter. I am picking the Eagles because they are significantly better in the trenches and that decides most football games.
I expect the Eagles pass rush to harass Patrick Mahomes all game long. I think the game will be tight at the start of the fourth quarter and then the Eagles will slowly pull away for a 27-17 win.
This is a tough over-under, but I am betting on the under. I think the Eagles control this game up front and grind the Chiefs down. I like the under because I think the Chiefs will play this game at a slow pace also. The Chiefs are a nickel-and-dime offense these days and with both teams trying to control the clock I am going to bet the under.
