Oh Alberta!
Boston-based DraftKings announced Thursday that they will launch their online sports betting and casino products in Alberta, Canada, pending regulatory approval. Once approved, both online sports betting and casino mobile apps will be available on the province’s launch date of July 13 as set by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC).
“We’re excited about the opportunity to expand DraftKings’ footprint in Canada and bring our online sportsbook and casino experiences to customers in Alberta,” said Greg Karamitis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports at DraftKings in a news release. “With the anticipated launch aligning with the World Cup - hosted right here in North America - it’s a particularly exciting moment for sports fans in the province to engage with our platform.”

Once launched, Alberta will be the second province in Canada where DraftKings can legally operate.
Ontario was the first.
It will also be the 34th jurisdiction in North America and the seventh with online casino.
Alberta residents can pre-register for DraftKings Sportsbook and Casino ahead of the anticipated launch.
