Keystone State sports wagering, iGaming flourish in July

The Keystone State continues to flourish in sports betting and iGaming as official monthly figures for July were released Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).

Total revenue combined from all forms of gaming including fantasy sports contests generated more than $591.09 million (5.99% above July 2025). The number was also $55.8M more than $535.3M generated last month, an increase of 10.4% month-over-month.

Tax revenue increased by $22.4M from $234.4M in June to $256.8M in July. July was also up 5.99% year-over-year versus July 2025 ($557.7M).

Sports Wagering Increases

Thanks in large part to the World Cup with the City of Brotherly Love as one of the tournament's hosts, revenue came in at $51.8M, a significant $20.8M (67.4%) increase from June ($31M). It was also 27.75% higher than July 2025 ($40.57M).

Sports handle generated more than $509.53M (23.53% higher) than July 2025 ($412.47M), however, July's handle was a $60.8M decrease from June ($570.3M).

Currently, July's Pennsylvania number ranks third nationally behind New Jersey ($816.9M) and New York ($1.88 billion) but leads Maryland ($496.4M) and Tennessee ($413.1M) who rounded out the top five.

Valley Forge Casino Resort (FanDuel) generated $167.13M in handle to top all providers in the state, edging out Hollywood Casino at the Meadows (the Score Bet)), who came in at $166.13M.
