Selection Sunday for both the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments is five days away and the NCAA on Tuesday took significant action to strengthen transparency and integrity for each game that will be played.
The governing body for college sports announced they will be utilizing Las Vegas-based Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) ProhiBet product for officials participating in the upcoming NCAA Division I Basketball Tournaments, but also for Division I Championships, including baseball and softball.
“Implementing ProhiBet is a major step in increasing integrity protections for college sports. This platform adds another layer to the NCAA’s robust integrity monitoring program as we work to keep competition integrity and student-athlete well-being paramount in a rapidly evolving sports betting environment," said Mark Hicks, NCAA Managing Director of Enforcement, in a news release.

ProhiBet uses a secure and encrypted data network to prevent individuals who are prohibited from wagering - including athletes, coaches and league personnel - from placing sports wagers, enhancing integrity monitoring and prevention.
This will enhance fairness in each of the games played, but also assists officials in keeping with integrity policies. Over 220 officials (including alternates) will work the upcoming men's and women's basketball tournaments.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the NCAA to the ProhiBet network and are honored to help protect the integrity of these iconic Division I championships. This collaboration sets a new industry benchmark and reinforces the importance of proactive deterrence and detection in keeping collegiate athletics fair," said Scott Sadin, Co-CEO of IC360.
Other leagues and organizations that have implemented ProhiBet include: UFC, PGA Tour, American Athletic Conference, Sun Belt Conference, SlamBall, Pro League Network, Carvana PPA Tour (pickleball professional tour), North Dakota State University (NDSU), University of St. Thomas, Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), and the University of North Carolina is in the process of implementation, just to name a few.
Numerous sportsbooks have also integrated with ProhiBet including betPARX, Caesars Sportsbook, and Circa Sports.
