The Tar Heel State generated another record-setting month in November.
North Carolina residents wagered more than $813.97 million in sports bets, more than $2.5 million more than October's $811.43 million, as the North Carolina State Lottery Commission (NCSLC) released official monthly figures on Thursday, Dec. 4.
This marks the 10th time the handle number has reached at least $600 million or more since online sports betting went live in March 2024.
For contrast, September generated more than $686.06 million.
Bettors took home more than $717.56 million for the month over eight licensed sports betting platforms in the state.
State law levies an 18% tax on gross wagering revenue. In November, all eight platforms generated more than $92.93 million in gross wagering revenue, a close to $15 million increase from October. After the 18% tax is implemented, estimated tax proceeds for the month would be more than $16.72 million.
Since July, the state has handled more than $3.160 billion in handle and $3.055 billion in paid wagering revenue.

The state can thank the start of the men's college basketball season and the resurgence of Carolina Panthers football for the month's successes. You throw in a surprising Duke football appearance in Saturday's Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship game versus Virginia and interest was high for a home state feel for bettors.
To date, the four North Carolina men's college basketball teams in the ACC have compiled a 27-7 overall record (Duke 9-0, North Carolina 7-1, Wake Forest 6-3, North Carolina State 5-3).
The Panthers (7-6) are in second place, just behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5), for first place in the NFC South Division and are deeply entrenched in a wild-card playoff and division title chase.
