Yes, New Jersey, there is a Santa Claus.
Handicappers and horse/harness racing fans in the Garden State have been clamoring for another subscription option for wagering opportunities and on Wednesday that dream became a reality as NYRA Bets is now operational in New Jersey.
Final approvals came from State Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, and the New Jersey Racing Commission (NJRC) as NYRA Bets went live in the state on July 1.
New Jersey residents can now download the NYRA Bets app to bet on races anytime from horse/harness racetracks across the country.
NYRA Bets will also serve as the exclusive managing vendor of New Jersey’s online and mobile pari-mutuel account wagering system for horse racing and will be responsible for recruiting additional operators to launch platforms in the state.
“This is a significant and historic expansion of horse racing fans’ options for pari-mutuel wagering in the Garden State,” said Attorney General Davenport in a news announcement. “I’m pleased my office was able to facilitate this important transition to enhance the wagering experience while maintaining the integrity that NJRC is known for.”

Since 2005, horse fans and bettors have had only one option for online betting, the 4NJBets platform currently operated by FanDuel owned ODS Technologies (TVG Network). 4NJBets will continue to operate in the state as an online and mobile wagering site without any disruption of service.
MonmouthBets < https://fixed.monmouthbets.com/ > is also available in the state and is the only platform in the nation to offer legal, fixed odds wagering.
“We know that players want more wagering options, and NJRC staff worked diligently to oversee an orderly, trustworthy, and accurate process,” said Sara Ben-David, NJRC Acting Executive Director. “I’m thankful to everyone for their patience as we prepared for this important milestone.”
Wagers on the NYRA Bets platform will be processed by the United Tote Company, which launched operations in the state with a brand-new hub facility in Cherry Hill and the completion of successful testing.
"We are excited for the opportunity to introduce NYRA Bets to horseplayers in the Garden State,” said Tony Allevato, NYRA Chief Revenue Officer and President of NYRA Bets. “Thanks to our regulatory partners and stakeholders in New Jersey, who have worked diligently on this effort for the last two years, NYRA Bets has arrived to expand consumer choice and help grow the sport.”
Customers in New Jersey who sign up for NYRA Bets are eligible to earn up to $200 in new member bonuses for a limited time. For additional information about the new member bonus program for New Jersey residents, visit NYRABets.com/NJ.
Launched as a national ADW in 2016, NYRA Bets is currently available to customers in 38 states. For additional information, visit NYRABets.com.
