PA Sports Wagering Handle For October Sets New All-Time Record

No trick, October was a treat for sports wagering in the Keystone State as official monthly figures were released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) on Wednesday.

October's total sports wagering handle was a whopping $968,507,712, 12.86% higher than October 2024 total of $858,148,994. The more than $968.5 million was an all-time high for the state, eclipsing the $935.5 million mark wagered in November 2024.

Taxable revenue to the state skyrocketed in October, posting more than $60.67 million, a gigantic 121.66% increase over October 2024 when tax revenue generated more than $27.37 million.

Valley Forge Casino Resort (Fanduel) recorded a total handle of more than $357.58 million, tops in the state, with online revenue posting over $18.06 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows (ESPN BET) handled more than $300 million (second largest) and recorded the most online revenue for the month at over $21.66 million, a significant 271.88% increase from their October 2024 number of more than $5.85 million.

Betting The Birds

Both of those high handle numbers have something in common - the Philadelphia Eagles.

Last year, the Eagles posted a 3-0 October record as their journey continued to a 14-3 regular season record, the No. 1 seed, and an eventual Super Bowl championship.

This season, Philadelphia posted a 2-2 record for the month, with their only losses thus far coming during a five-day span against the Denver Broncos at home (21-17, Oct. 5) and an inexplicable road loss to the New York Giants (34-17, Oct. 9).

With that said, the Eagles are currently 8-2 this season, sit in the top spot for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and are all but a cinch to clinch their second straight and three of the last four NFC East Division crowns.

October iGaming Revenue Highlights Full Report

October iGaming numbers were impressive for the state, generating more than $251.09 million, setting a new record and eclipsing the previous high of $238.22 million, that was set in March 2025, thanks in large part to the NCAA college basketball tournaments.

Total revenue generated from all forms of gaming, including fantasy contests, during October 2025 was over $596.97 million, a solid increase of 20.22% compared to revenue generated in October 2024. Total tax revenue for the month generated more than $252.28 million.
