
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported their official monthly figures for September on Friday with the Keystone State seeing a revenue increase from all forms of gaming compared to this time last year, however sports wagering revenue took a nosedive.
The combined total revenue generated more than $535.83 million in September, a modest increase of 5.92% compared to revenue generated in Sept. 2024 ($505.88 million) from all forms of gaming including fantasy contests.

September Gaming Numbers See Revenue Increase
Gaming revenue sources include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (VGTs).
Total overall tax revenue generated totaled more than $227.85 million in September.
Sports Wagering Revenue Sees Big Dip
Sports wagering revenue for the state was $29,735,588 for the month, a huge 44.45% decrease from $53,532,012 a year ago, however, total sports wagering handle saw a modest 4.84% bump to $850,549,347 from September's 2024 total of $811,283,985.
FanDuel Sportsbook (Valley Forge Casino Resort) continues to top all sports wagering handles in the state with $297,555,276 ($237,969 retail, $15,612,752 online) for total revenue of more than $15.85 million, a significant 42.09% decrease from more than $27.37 million a year ago.
October will see the loss of the Philadelphia Phillies from the Major League Baseball playoffs but will see the addition of the National Hockey League (Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins) and the start of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) regular season (Philadelphia 76ers).
Pro and college football will continue to dominant the wagering landscape.
iGaming Revenue Sees Big Jump
Online casino games generated monthly revenue totaling more than $233.38 million in September, a 32.08% increase from $176.70 million a year ago.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course topped all online casinos in the state with $87,706,609 in total iGaming revenue ($64,887,647 slots revenue, $22,197,563 tables revenue, $621,398 poker revenue).
Retail Table Games Revenue Remains Steady
Retail table games revenue for September generated more than $73.42 million, a decrease of just 0.06% from Sept. 2024 when revenue $73,474,836.
Wind Creek Bethlehem topped all casinos with $18,584,869 in table games revenue, a nice 3.53% increase from $17,951,641 in Sept. 2024.
