LuckyLand Slots players have just a few more weeks to play through existing digital currency packages before the website goes dark. Virtual Gaming Worlds, which operates LuckyLand Slots, announced on Tuesday that it will be closing the site.
The shutdown will happen in stages beginning Aug. 3, 2026, and culminating on Sept. 14, 2026. Virtual Gaming Worlds has emphasized that it made the decision to shutter LuckyLand Slots to focus its attention on other products, including a different website with a similar name.

Virtual Gaming Worlds (VGW) confirmed the closure of LuckyLand Slots with an announcement on the website on Tuesday. The timeline specifies three dates and stages.
Therefore, players have until Aug. 3 to buy currency packages and until Aug. 24 to play through existing currency balances that exist in their accounts on Aug. 3. Website users have until Sept. 14 to submit requests to redeem sweeps coins for which they have satisfied playthrough requirements.
Any gold coins in players’ accounts will be forfeited on Aug. 24 and any unredeemed sweeps coins will also be void after Sept. 14. VGW stressed that players may not transfer their gold coin or sweeps coin balances to other sites that the company owns.
The company also stated that it has made this decision to devote the resources to other brands, including the LuckyLand Casino that it launched in December 2025.
As more U.S. state governments have cracked down on sweepstakes casinos through enshrining new laws or regulatory demands, VGW has mostly been slow to respond or done so in limited fashion. For example, VGW has merely limited gameplay to gold coins in states like California, New York, and Tennessee, where recently enacted statutes ban sweeps coins play.
Players cannot redeem gold coins for prizes, so VGW is confident that the shift to gold coins-only keeps them clear of violating those laws. The launch of LuckyLand Casino with branding similar to LuckyLand Slots but a more robust selection of games is another strong example of VGW’s persistence in the industry.
VGW is planning the launch of another sweepstakes casino brand called United Slots in late 2026 or early 2027, which may serve the same segment of its player base as LuckyLand Slots has for the past eight years. Compared to Chumba Casino, Global Poker, and LuckyLand Casino, United Slots may retain the same slots-heavy emphasis that LuckyLand Slots has carried.
VGW is pushing forward in the sweepstakes casino space, just not with LuckyLand Slots in its portfolio. The closure of that site seems to be more about a decision to have LuckyLand Casino carry that brand than a reduction in its investment in the sweepstakes casino business.
