The Virginia Lottery announced official sports wagering figures for November on Wednesday as Virginians wagered more than $798.87 million for the month, a good 5% increase from Nov. 2024.
Bettors in the Old Dominion State won a total of more than $699.67 million for a 12.42% hold.
November's handle number was slightly lower than the record $831.56 million that was taken in in October.
For November, 14 mobile operators and three casinos were authorized to accept wagers in the state.
Ten operators reported net positive AGR (Adjusted Gross Revenue) for November, leading to $14.3 million in tax payments for the month, with more than $13.91 million (97.5%) going to the to the state's General Fund Allocation and $356,865.27 (2.5%) going to the state's Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund Allocation.
State law implements a 15% tax on sports betting, based upon each operator's AGR.

Bettors in the state certainly had a wide choice of sports betting options over the month with NCAAF, NFL, NBA, NHL, and men's and women's college basketball action all in the mix.
Unfortunately, residents of the state could not wager on in-state college sports teams and could not capitalize on the University of Virginia's football run to a school-record 11-win season and a 13-7 victory over Missouri in the 81st TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 27.
The state also missed out on James Madison's incredible run to their first college football playoff berth.
