I wasn’t aware, but the Boom Fantasy brand has been around since 2015 where they initially dealt with in-person daily fantasy sports, but they also have a Boom Fantasy app I’ve been itching to try out.
This has led me to create the Boom Fantasy review below where I check out the app, look at the cool Pick’em game modes it offers, and what US customers can do here. If you read on, I’ll first go over things like security and legality, and review other aspects of this DFS platform to see if it’s any good.

First up, I had to make sure this was a legit brand before I registered at Boom Fantasy, so I looked for basic features like regulatory compliance, security, and its banking setup.
From what I could see, I was happy that Boom Fantasy follows DFS regulations for the states it operates in. This currently includes Alaska, Arkansas, D.C, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
I didn’t find anything like a live chat when using the Boom Fantasy app, so I tested the email support setup. The average response time was within 1-2 hours which is pretty good for emails. However, I would like to see a more instant form of support. You’ve also got a decent FAQ section which answers a load of questions about how the app works and the different DFS game modes.

For banking, I could use PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Now, I know this is a limited selection, but the reality here is that most people will be using Visa and MasterCard anyway so I don’t think anyone will have any issues. The deposits and withdrawals started from $10 which is on par with other DFS apps I’ve tested, and I was never charged any payment fees. Lastly, while deposits were instant, withdrawals did take longer, and I had to wait anywhere between 1-5 days for the money to get into my account which isn’t the fastest.

I had no concerns with the security of the app - they’ve got industry-standard features like SSL encryption, HTTPS connectivity, and geoblocking to prevent people from outside the US accessing the site. On top of that, I noticed that you can enable 2FA if you want as an extra account security measure. Other things I saw included solid documentation for privacy, the terms of services, and a responsible gaming section.
Now we get to the best bit - looking at the DFS setup and the different types of games you can actually play here. Boom Fantasy is primarily an over/under app and it doesn’t really have any classic DFS tournaments. Instead, I found three game modes - classic Pick’em, Pick & Spin, and Squad Ride, and these were all available for basketball, football, baseball, hockey, and college sports.
You can’t go wrong with the classic Pick’em gameplay. If you aren’t familiar with this mode, it’s a basic over/under feature where you have to pick over/under on various different athlete stats. For instance, while I was creating this Boom Fantasy review, the NBA Playoffs were underway, so I made a load of over/under picks on some of my favorite NBA stars. Your potential payout is based on your number of selections.
Alternatively, there’s the awesome Pick & Spin game mode which is basically the classic Pick’em game, but with an added random payout multiplier wheel. You make a minimum of 2 over/under selections, and then spin the wheel - you then get a random payout multiplier of 2x to 500x. I’m a fan of this game mode, although I do recommend checking out the odds of getting the different payout multipliers, and also considering the standard payout you could get if you made the same picks using the classic Pick’em mode.
Lastly there’s the Squad Ride feature where you have to pick 3x athletes from 2x teams who you think will score the most points. You are then competing against a series of preset milestones which each give a payout multiplier. For example, Milestone 1 is usually 2x, Milestone 2 is often 5x, and Milestone 3 is usually 20x. I had a blast with this game mode being an NBA fan and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re also into NBA stats and tracking player scoring.
Similar to most other US fantasy sports brands I’ve used, Boom Fantasy is mobile-only. The desktop website is just a landing page and you can’t actually use it to create a Boom Fantasy login, access your account, or do anything associated with its DFS games. You HAVE to download the app. I don’t think anyone will have an issue with this, but I am a little old school, so I would like them to add a fully-functioning web version of the site for non-smartphone users.
Still though, I downloaded the Android app from the Play Store and checked out the reviews for the iOS app version. The Boom Fantasy ratings for both are pretty good, with the Android version having a 4.3 star rating from 1,700+ reviews, and the iOS version having a 4.6 star rating from over 12,000 reviews. Positive comments praised the quality of the app and how easy it was to use the pick’em game system. Quite a few customers also mentioned the fast withdrawal times.
The app itself looks great. It’s got a modern style and theme and is really easy to use if you’ve not had much experience with DFS apps before. I like how the different pick’em options are displayed, and managing my account and adding/withdrawing funds was also straightforward. I did see a few minor glitches where pages won't load properly, but these were few and far between and didn’t really affect my overall enjoyment using Boom Fantasy.
Yes, and I have to highlight and explain the welcome bonus quickly, and go over the other stuff I found.
Depending on your state, there should be a welcome bonus where you can get up to a $100 risk-free entry to use at Boom Fantasy. This basically means that you can create a Boom Fantasy login, make your first real-money play, and if it loses, you’ll get back 100% of your initial stake as bonus money, thus giving you a second try. This bonus doesn't require a Boom Fantasy promo code.
When I got started here, I made my first pick and won… so I effectively got nothing, but I don’t see this as a bad thing - either you win and that’s cool, or you lose and you get bonus funds back anyway and can try again, so there’s no real downsides.
While I didn’t see anything like a VIP program at Boom Fantasy, I DID notice a cool range of other promotions for existing customers, including:
It looks like with the referral scheme you can potentially get a $25 bonus for each referee, but I was more interested in the different daily promos they have. For example, every Sunday, the Pick & Spin game will have its multiplier wheel increased, so that the minimum multiplier is 2.5x instead of 2x, and the max is 2,000x instead of 500x.
What’s not to like about Boom Fantasy? It’s just a solid app that has all the DFS features I think you’ll want. From my Boom Fantasy review, I don’t think it particularly pushes the boundaries or does anything exceptional, but it does all of the cool DFS things WELL. You’ve got a great Pick’em setup, the awesome Pick & Spin game mode, and frequent promos for existing customers.
Wrap all of that up in a neat app that works like a charm and you should be able to enjoy a fun and stress-free DFS experience. These are just my thoughts and experiences though - if you want to try it out for yourself and make your own conclusion, you can click any of the banners or links I’ve put here to get signed up today.
Boom Fantasy is a DFS app for US customers. It features a few different game modes including over/under pick’em selections for the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and college sports, plus the Pick & Spin feature where you can get a random payout multiplier of up to 500x.
It is. I’ve been using the app for a while now and I think it’s pretty good. I did notice a few small glitches where some of the over/under picks wouldn’t load properly, but this happened maybe a couple of times max, and all I had to do was refresh the app screen and they worked fine.
It’s currently legal in 21 states and this could potentially expand in the future. This includes Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Wisconsin. When you click our links and attempt to register an account with Boom Fantasy, you will quickly be able to see if you are eligible or not.
Click the banners I’ve put on this page, download the Boom Fantasy app, and then go through the registration process. You’ll have to provide some personal details and potentially verify your ID depending on your state.
