Today, I’ll run through all the states that FanDuel’s DFS games are available in, how to register, and some pros and cons of playing here.
The FanDuel group itself is a pretty huge iGaming brand. It offers a cool combo of casino games, sports betting opportunities and Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) options, all via completely separate websites and apps.
In today’s guide, I’m focusing entirely on FanDuel DFS, which is legal in 45 different US states at the time of writing.
But don’t worry - if you’re interested in finding out whether the casino or sports betting app offered by FanDuel is legal in your state instead, I’ve written a separate guide covering the legal status of each elsewhere on my site, which I’d highly recommend reading.

At the time of writing, then, if you live in any of the states mentioned above, you can currently enter paid DFS contests with FanDuel legally.
But if you’re interested in playing on FanDuel’s casino site, or placing sports bets via their sportsbook app, completely different state by state availability rules apply – as both portals essentially operate as separate entities to FanDuel DFS.
FanDuel DFS’s availability is way, way better than average for a fantasy sports site. But of course, you can’t play from everywhere.
On the bright side, if you’re looking for other top rated DFS platforms, DraftKings DFS is legal in 44 US states right now, with only HI, ID, MT, NV, OR and WA off limits.
Meanwhile, OwnersBox is legal in a similarly decent 36 different states, and there are several other sites out there worth considering, too.
Depending on where you live, you may find that one of these DFS platforms is available in your state, even if FanDuel isn’t. You may also be able to find social DFS platforms available in your state. These are platforms that allow you to play fantasy sports with no real money or prizes involved.
There’s a lot to like about FanDuel, but no DFS site is perfect, so it’s important to be aware of the site’s shortcomings pre signup, too. Here’s my take on FanDuel’s primary pros and cons:
Offering a dedicated DFS app, incredible market coverage and way better than average US availability, FanDuel has an awful lot going for itself.
What’s more, at the time of writing, DFS players in eligible states can currently qualify for a 100% deposit match bonus, worth up to a potential $100 in bonus credits.
To register and claim your offer, all you need to do, is:
As we’ve seen, then, you can currently play at FanDuel DFS legally from 45 different US states right now, with the exception of HI, ID, MT, NV and WA.
This officially makes FanDuel one of the most widely available DFS game providers across America right now – and there are tons of other great reasons to register, too including the site’s competitive 100% matched deposit bonus, excellent market coverage and dedicated DFS app.
You can sign up from FanDuel DFS friendly states today and get your 100% bonus match using the links on this page.
At the time of writing, you can play real money DFS games with FanDuel from all US states bar HI, ID, MT, NV, OR and WA. However, keep in mind that FanDuel’s separate casino site and sports betting app come with completely different state by state eligibility rules.
Yes, you can – California makes the green list, alongside Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and a whole bunch of other US states, too. Just be sure to check the T&Cs locally before registering, as there may be minor differences between the bonuses and DFS contest options available in different states.
Yes, it is. While Oregon is off limits for DFS purposes on some competitor sites – it doesn’t make it onto the list of places where DraftKings is legal for DFS gameplay, for example – you can play DFS games with FanDuel from The Beaver State. Good news for Oregoners, right?
This depends entirely on what kinds of contests you’re into. Buy-ins range from just $1 USD all the way up to $10,000 USD on the site and app. Sometimes, you might also be able to enjoy free entry contests, where no entry fees are required at all, during promotional periods.
