This Jokio review is one of the things you’ll need to read to know more about the site and what it has to offer. If you have queries about its features, now is the time to learn more.

Based on my analysis, Jokio does meet the standards for a legit platform. While it is not the traditional casino you are used to, it is instead a parimutuel site that uses casino games to reveal outcomes. You can definitely make the most of your experience in this licensed brand without much hassle.

How does Jokio work?

Jokio is one of the sites where you can bet on horse races, although it is not as direct as you think. For starters, the money you deposit on the site is converted into Credits, which can also be used to play casino-style games. The platform uses the Credits to wager on horse racing events on your behalf. Then, the results of the races determine outcomes in the games (called Bet & Reveal). If you win, you can convert the Credits back into real money and withdraw.

In my Jokio review, I confirmed that the platform supports two bet types. The first is Live bets, which involve wagering on horse races as they happen. You’ll have to wait for 15 to 30 minutes for the race to finish. After the results are confirmed, you can then play casino games to reveal the outcomes.

The second type is Warehouse bets, which are based on already verified results. Therefore, you can play games and see the results right away. Some say that these are bets that are pre-set, although it’s more of a simulated outcome rather than a fixed one.

Is Jokio legit?

I rate Jokio as legit because it’s a regulated site. The brand is owned by AmWest, which holds a valid Advanced Deposit Wagering (ADW) license from the Oregon Racing Commission (ORC). As such, it complies with industry standards for placing remote horse racing bets.

However, an ORC license doesn’t mean Jokio can operate in all 50 states. From the terms I saw, the site is only available in these locations:

✅ Alabama
✅ California
✅ Colorado
✅ Delaware
✅ Florida
✅ Kansas
✅ Louisiana
✅ North Dakota
✅ Nebraska
✅ New Mexico
✅ New York
✅ Oklahoma
✅ Wisconsin
✅ Wyoming

Note that the list of supported states is subject to change. In fact, Jokio states that it’s working on becoming available in more locations in the future.

Know Your Customer (KYC) verification

After creating my Jokio account, I had to verify my identity before depositing. The KYC process is simple, though. All I did was fill out a form with my personal details, including the last four digits of my SSN.

If the information you provided matches the SSN check, your account will be verified. Otherwise, you may be asked to manually upload your ID.

Responsible gaming

Another proof that Jokio is legit is its responsible gaming features. I found the following tools on the site:

  • Deposit limits: Daily, weekly, or monthly caps on how much you add to your account.
  • Time-out: Take a temporary break for 1, 3, 7, 15, or 30 days.
  • Self-exclusion: Activate a longer break for 1, 2, 3, or 6 months, or 1, 3, or 5 years. Permanent self-exclusion is also an option.

I commend Jokio because you don’t have to message customer service to apply any of the tools. You can do it yourself via the responsible gaming controls section.

Bonuses and promotions at Jokio

Multiple Jokio bonus offers are available to claim when you sign up, and they don’t require a promo code. The platform has a welcome bonus, referral rewards, and boosts, to name a few. However, I didn’t see a VIP or loyalty system in my review.

Here are the details of the ongoing promos:

100% creditback welcome offer

Jokio gives new players a 24-hour 100% creditback welcome bonus of up to $100. In other words, you can get back the net losses on your first day as Bonus Credits, with the maximum being $100.

I got the bonus by depositing and purchasing at least $10 in Credits. After playing throughout the first day, the platform returned my net loss as a bonus within 72 hours.

Monday Boost

This promo offers a Credit boost on Mondays, from 11 AM to 1 PM PST. On Jokio, I saw two types of boosts, including:

  1. Credit Drop: A random drop of 100 Bonus Credits.
  2. Credit Offer: A 10% extra boost on selected Credit packages.

Note that the bonuses are released at random on Mondays, so you may not always get them.

Referral bonus

As a registered Jokio player, you can share your referral link and invite others to register an account. That makes you eligible for up to $100 in Bonus Credits.

While making this review, I participated in the referral program and invited a few friends using my link. However, I didn’t receive the bonus immediately. Instead, Jokio releases it in two levels:

  1. $10 bonus if referral buys $100 in Credits
  2. $90 bonus if referral buys $1,600 in Credits

I’ll say that the second level will typically take time to satisfy. As such, it’s more realistic to expect $10 Bonus Credits from the Jokio referral program.

The available Jokio games to play

I counted a little over 80 games from five software providers on Jokio. The count didn’t surprise me, considering how the platform operates, as it’s not a standard online casino. I have high hopes that the collection can still improve, but the available titles are interesting to play. Let’s check them out:

Online slots

Based on my estimates, about 95% of games on Jokio are online slots. As such, saying this category dominates the collection may be an understatement.

The site mainly has classic-themed and Hold & Win slots, both of which are popular in the US. Interestingly, I didn’t spot any Megaways titles. Throughout my review, I tested at least 20 slots, and my best Jokio games are 3 Wild Jokers, Touchdown Thunder Hold and Win, and Stallion Fantasy.

Tables and arcades

In this category, I counted just four games, so there isn’t much variety to play. Jokio offers Dice, Lucky Mega Wheel, Plinko Blitz, and American Roulette. As such, you actually have three arcades and one table game.

The arcade selection is acceptable, though I would prefer it if the site had versions of Crash and Plinko. For the table games, I believe blackjack needs to be included at least. Jokio may add more titles over time, and you can see them in the ‘All New’ section.

Software providers

The five software providers on Jokio are:

  1. Bragg
  2. Kalamba Games
  3. NetGaming
  4. Dragon Gaming
  5. AmWest Gaming

These aren’t exactly popular developers, but based on my sessions, I can say that their game quality is satisfactory. Remember that outcomes in each title are tied to real horse racing results. They’re not based on the traditional random number generator (RNG).

Limited but secure payment methods

To deposit on Jokio, you can use just credit or debit cards. Those are the options I saw, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. My deposits on the site are usually instant, and there’s no set minimum.

When it’s time for withdrawals, Jokio only supports bank transfers. Again, I didn’t encounter a minimum limit after converting Credits won into real money. The Jokio withdrawal time is 3 to 5 business days, which I consider moderate for bank transfers.

In my opinion, Jokio can improve its payment process by adding more options, especially e-wallets. For now, the available methods are safe but limited.

Modern, responsive site design

Jokio uses a simple black and green theme with a two-column interface. When you visit the site, you’ll see the menu on the left side and the game collection on the right. Through the menu, it takes me one click to access games, promos, responsible gaming tools, and customer support.

In the main game lobby, locating titles to play wasn’t difficult for me. That’s because the platform groups them by type and features, with a ‘For You’ section that shows curated slots. Of course, there’s a search bar to find games with keywords.

On mobile, I didn’t see a dedicated Jokio app to install. The site has an ‘Install App’ button on its menu, but it’s a web version that works via Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android. You won’t download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

I do recommend installing the web app, though, as it saves you the stress of typing URLs. You only need one tap from the homepage to open the platform.

Quick customer service performance

If you need help on Jokio, you can easily get it via the live chat option on the main menu. Each time I launch the chat, the Jokio Assistant (a modern AI chatbot) replies instantly. The assistant is quite useful, as it helped clarify my questions about Jokio payouts and other topics.

While chatting with the AI assistant, a real human agent can join the chat even without you requesting one. From my tests, replies from agents take at least a minute after my message, which is quite impressive.

Jokio also has an email address you can message for more detailed assistance. I recommend reading the guides in the help center for common inquiries if you don’t want to speak with an agent.

Jokio is a reliable parimutuel gaming site

As someone who’s been searching for something different from regular online casinos, I find Jokio worthwhile. On this platform, you still play the familiar slots and a few arcade and table games. However, the underlying outcomes are determined by verifiable horse racing results.

The downside is that Jokio has only a few games and payment methods. Both leave room for improvement, and the platform may rectify them over time.

In terms of legitimacy, Jokio is regulated by the Oregon Racing Commission and holds an ADW license. Therefore, you can register if you’re in an eligible state. To begin, tap the banners on this page to visit Jokio.

Jokio review FAQs

🎰 Is Jokio a real money online casino?

Jokio is a horse racing wagering platform that reveals outcomes using games, not a traditional online casino. You can withdraw real money if you win the bets.

Jokio is legal in the US because it’s regulated by the Oregon Racing Commission. However, at the time of my review, the site is only available in AL, CA, CO, DE, FL, KS, LA, ND, NE, NM, NY, OK, WI, and WY.

💰 How does Jokio redemption work?

Jokio allows withdrawals if you win, not prize redemption. You can convert the won Credits into USD and cash them out through bank transfer.
