When the game starts, you’ll make a ‘bid’ of how many tricks you think you’ll win in that round. You can pick between 0 and 13 and I found it was best to stick to a more conservative prediction here. The game will make a recommendation of how many tricks they think you can win to help you.
Top tip:
If you bid 0 and then do make a trick, you’ll lose 75 points, plus you won’t score any points for the tricks you make. Bidding one or two tricks, whilst you’re learning the ropes, is a good basic option.
5. Bags
While playing, any tricks you make that go over your initial bid get you a ‘bag’. If you go over the limit of allowed bags by the end of the game, you’ll have 25 points deducted from your score. But, if one of your opponents gets a bag, they’ll lose points and you’ll get 100 extra marks added to your total.
6. Scoring
If you fail to reach your number of bids, you’ll get a point penalty of 10x your prediction. You’ll score 100 points for every trick you complete.
