Simply put, Spree is a superb sweepstakes casino. But right now, I’m sad to say there’s no Spree casino app up for grabs on either the App Store or Google Play.
The good news? I’ve been enjoying more than 700 different slots and jackpot games at Spree for a while now, and I’ve found that the brand’s conventional website works pretty much seamlessly on most smartphones and tablets. Here’s how you guys can do the same, and what to expect when registering a new Spree account.
First things first, it’s important to note that you can’t play at Spree casino for real money. Why? Well, that’s because Spree is a sweepstakes casino, which basically means that all its casino-style games are powered by virtual currencies rather than cash.
You’ll find plenty of sweepstakes casino gaming guides here on my site if you need a quick crash course. But here’s the basics about sweepstakes sites like Jackpota, DingDingDing and Spree:
As outlined already, no – but don’t let that put you off this otherwise awesome brand.
Even without a Spree casino app, the site is a ton of fun to play at. Not to mention the brand’s regular site has been designed at the back end to be completely mobile friendly, meaning all its 700+ games can be accessed via your smartphone or tablet anyway.
Some of the best features up for grabs on the site, include:
Cool feature | What to expect |
---|---|
Huge welcome bonus | New players registering with Spree for the first time can claim 1 million GC and 2.5 Spree Coins (the brand’s own name for Sweeps Coins) absolutely free. |
Excellent US availability | Spree casino app or no app, the brand’s no purchase necessary policy and virtual currency setup mean its legally available in 42 US states. The only places you can’t currently play from are WA, NV, MI, KY, ID, GA, AL and MT. |
Optional purchase promos | While you’ll never have to pay to play here, Spree offers a really generous 200% extra Gold Coins with an optional, first GC package purchase. These start out from just $9.99 for 30,000 GC in most states – and you’ll get 30 free SC thrown in as part of the deal. |
State of the art gaming software | Spree offers slots, hold and win games and even live dealer tables. The majority of the brand's games are powered by prominent game developers like Pragmatic Play, Playson and Beter Live, too. |
Daily promos and rewards | Just for logging into your account, Spree will credit you with variable amounts of free Gold and Spree Coins daily. The brand also runs exclusive tournaments and jackpots on rotating slot games. |
For me, one of the site’s strongest points is its ample bonus offerings, which seem to be much larger and more regular than any DingDingDing free spins promos, or other competitor bonuses I’ve reviewed recently.
And of course, Spree’s excellent US availability means it's accessible in an above average number of US states, too.
To be honest with you, I’ve found that by far the best (and easiest) way to enjoy Spree from a mobile device is simply to fire up their site on your smartphone or tablet browser. Those that seem to work best for me are:
Though the site is almost as good on Safari and Edge, too.
You can register an account and claim your 1 million GC and 2.5 SC bonus in minutes by using any of my banner links on this page, and I’ll show you how to do this in a sec.
If app style functionality is really a make or break issue for you, mind, guess what? I found that Spree actually offers a Progressive Web App or “PWA” as a kind of Spree casino app alternative. This isn’t quite an actual app as such, but does offer similar one tap launch capabilities, and will prevent you from having to type in Spree’s URL on your device each time you want to play.
Put simply, it’s possible to install an app style PWA shortcut onto your phone or tablet, by:
Once these steps have been followed, you’ll be able to tap your Spree PWA at any time to quickly launch Spree in the same way you would an app. Once tapped, mind, the site will still open in your preferred browser – hence why I’ve described this option as more of a “shortcut” than an actual app.
App or no app, PWA or no PWA, you won’t be able to play with Spree until you’ve created a new customer account.
Here’s what you need to do:
Other sweepstakes casinos, DingDingDing, for example, will ping you a DingDingDing verification code via SMS or email during Step 4. I found that in most states, you can expect the same with Spree – and you might have to upload your state-issued ID as part of the sign up process, too.
There might not be a Spree casino app available on the App or Google Play Stores right now, but if I were you, I wouldn’t worry about that one bit.If you fancy checking out Spree’s offerings for your state today, follow any of my banner links on this page to get started.
As we’ve seen, Spree’s conventional website works great when accessed from smartphones and tablets, just so long as you stick to a trusted browser. What’s more, if you care to install a PWA shortcut to the site onto your device, it displays similarly to an app, and it works really well, too.
Nope. Much like other sweepstakes casinos, the site runs on a no purchase necessary basis. All of the casino-style games at Spree are played using two virtual currencies: Gold Coins and Spree Coins.
To be honest, it’s hard to say, as the brand hasn’t made any announcements on the matter at all. For now, I’d stick to playing on their regular site via Google Chrome or Firefox.
Aztec Eclipse Hold and Win and 3 African Drums routinely attract huge player numbers, while Gravity Blackjack is well worth a look if you prefer live dealer style experiences.
