Right, I’m going to start this article with a bit of myth-busting – there’s no such thing as playing at Stake.us for real money, and here’s why.
Put simply, Stake.us is what’s known as a social or “sweepstakes” casino, which roughly translates as a casino-inspired gaming platform that offers virtual currency-powered games. That said, with Stake.us and similar brands, gamers like yourselves can potentially redeem some of those virtual coins for offline prizes – which is great. Here’s how it works.
As I said in the intro, no. Stake.us is a social casino – and it’s been set-up this way with good reason, too. As I’m sure you’re aware, in the US different states have vastly different opinions on the concept of online gambling, from a legal standpoint.
Simply put, gamers like you and I can only legally play at real money casino games with brands that hold a state-level iGaming license from our local regulator – and sometimes, it’s slim pickings here, options-wise.
Conversely, social casinos like Stake.us are available on a much broader basis across the US.
In the case of this particular brand, only players in the following states are forbidden from playing,
Elsewhere, you’ll simply need to meet the Stake.us age requirement of 21 to create an account, and that’s it - you’re in.
So, why’s Stake.us so darn accessible? Well, it all boils down to the following two factors:
Well… yes and no. If you’re wondering whether you can gamble real money on Stake US, or play at USD-fueled casino games, it’s a hard no. But, having said that, you can use USD to purchase GC packages when you run out of coins.
So, the answer to a question like “does Stake.us use real money”, would be yes, because you can totally use USD for purchasing GC coins – and you might even get some SC thrown in as an added bonus when you do. It’s just real money gaming that’s off-the-cards, basically.
Now, at this point I feel it’s important for me to draw a distinction between GC and SC. Basically, the former are an entertainment-only online token which have no cash value. But with SC at Stake.us, redeeming SC for real-world prizes – including cash ones – is possible once you’ve accumulated 30 SC or more in your online account. And I’m going to talk about how you can do this very, very soon.
In short, no. All gameplay here is always carried out using either GC or SC and it’s impossible to “win” cash directly by playing, as you might at other, USD-powered casinos elsewhere. I repeat, you cannot win real money on Stake US.
But as I said in that last section, once you’ve collected 30 SC or more by playing SC-powered games, you can redeem your SC for cash and other real-world prizes. This is achieved via these steps:
What you need to do | How long it takes | |
---|---|---|
Step 1… | Collect at least 30 SC by playing at sweepstakes games or claiming bonuses. Keep in mind that any SC collected via bonuses must be played through 3x before they’ll be deemed “prize-exchangeable”, though. | Well… it depends on how frequently you play, and how you’ve acquired your SC, really. |
Step 2… | Set yourself up for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). | A few minutes at most. Even though Stake Cash is not real money and has no cash value, Stake.us requires all users to set-up 2FA before a prize exchange can be initiated. |
Step 3… | Visit your “Account” page, click “Wallet” and hit “Redeem”. | This all depends on you, really. At this point, you’ll be presented with all the prize options available – and it’s on you to select one. |
Step 4… | Click “Redeem” a final time to seize your prize. | Depending on the prize chosen, you might need to wait anywhere up to three business days to get your hands on it. |
In one sense, Stake.us does give you real money – but only as a potential prize option when you’re redeeming your SC winnings. It is not, in any way, shape or form, a traditional “real money” casino.
I mentioned earlier that while you can’t play at Stake casino using real money, you can use USD to purchase GC packages with the brand.
Now, making a purchase will only ever be optional, as you can claim GC and SC freely via the Stake.us Reload Bonus and tons of other great offers and never part with a penny if you prefer. Should you wish to buy some GC, though, you can do so using:
So, to recap, you can’t win real money on Stake, but you can use real dosh to buy GC packages. What’s more, your GC will be credited to you instantly when you do, regardless of the payment method used. You’ll also get some SC added to your Stake.us account as a bonus.
Just because Stake.us casino is not a real money gaming site doesn’t mean you should give it a miss. It’s one of the hottest social casinos around – and there are many reasons it’s so darn popular, such as:
It’s available in 43 different US states. Apart from those I mentioned earlier, of course…
It’s one of the best brands around for bonuses. All new players can claim Stake.us rakeback on all social casino game losses with my latest bonus, using the code “BALLISLIFE”. This offer will also grant you some free SC and GC, too.
It’s very friendly toward VIPs. If you’re looking for a brand to play with for the long-haul, Stake.us offers an unrivalled VIP Club that’s good for exclusive bonuses, account managers and enhanced rakeback for the foreseeable.
You can play from literally any device. Compatibility is never a concern with Stake.us – because their mobile-friendly site is set-up to work seamlessly with any device and browser.
It boasts a truly huge online community. The social aspect of gaming with Stake.us is a blast. You’ll find more than 30,000 players in the official Stake.us Telegram channel, for example. You can also interact with players directly via Stake.us itself and compete alongside your friends via leaderboard contests.
So, can you win real money on Stake US? Well, unless you’ve been reading this article without your glasses on, I’m sure you’ll be aware by now the answer is no.
As we’ve seen, Stake.us is a social casino site offering a combination of free-to-play-at GC games, and competitive sweepstakes-style games where you can collect higher-tier virtual coins that have prize redemption potential. In other words, SC winnings can be redeemed for cash prizes, but cash itself can never be directly “won” via gameplay.
It’s a great iGaming brand to get involved with, and I for one am not surprised it’s one of the most popular social casinos around. Thinking of giving it a try for yourself? Don’t forget my promo code “BALLISLIFE” on sign-up.
Nope. Every game at Stake.us can only be played using GC or SC. Find out how they work in my guide.
Stake.us isn’t a “real money” casino in the traditional sense. That said, players who opt to play using Stake Cash to play can potentially redeem their SC winnings for real-world prizes.
No. There are two tiers of virtual currencies in-play on the site – and Gold Coins or “GC” exist purely for fun.
