I like to gravitate to division rival games for my game picks. This week we have five games between division rivals:
Here are three game picks on the moneyline or spread selected from among those NFL Games.
We learned in Week 1 that the Cowboys offensive line can be beaten with speed and disguised pass rush/run schemes. The Commanders defensive coordinator Daronte Jones had his unit in sync last week: 18 pressures and three sacks. If Washington is able to harass Dak Prescott, the road team can cause problems in this NFC East matchup.
Bet on the C's to cover (getting 3/5 points against a flawed division rival), and if you win, collect $100. A 450 bet wins $50, a $10 wager wins $10, and so on.
Minnesota has covered the spread in the last six matchups between the Vikings and Bears in Chicago. In fact, the Vikings have won the last six meetings in Soldier Field, dating back to 2020. The average point differential has been 5.4 points in those games.
In Week 1, the Bears defense showed how mediocre it is, allowing 37 points vs Carolina. The defense surrendered points in all four quarters. It's troubling that Chicago is starting Season 2 of the Ben Johnson Era with glaring holes on D. It may be that Johnson & CO. will need to air out the ball and outscore opponents to have any chance at a division title.
Take the 4.5 points, which seem generous, and back the Vikings to cover. A winning $1-2 bet will garner $100.
Is any quarterback under more pressure to prove himself than Justin Herbert? Sure, head coach Jim Harbaugh loves him, but Herbert is still trying to place himself in the tight circle of elite NFL QB's. He has problems with health, consistency, and accuracy. The Raiders pass rush received 8 pressures from All-Pro Maxx Crosby alone. That spells S-C-R-A-M-B-L-E for Herbert and the Chargers.
The Raiders may not snatch a win in LA against the Bolts, but I love getting 3.5 points (find it under the Alternate Spread calculator in the Sportzino app) in a matchup of teams that seem to be trying to prove they could compete for a playoff spot.
It doesn't help my feelings on the Chargers that the team has 11 players on the injury report: with two ruled out (DB Elijah Moldenand T Try Pipkens) and two questionable (DB Deane Leonard and WR Ladd McConkey).
